Speed Dating & Friendshipping

WHAT'S UP?

Speed Dating & Frienshipping is a (player-run) Valentine's Event hosted by Ren Jinguji and Camus at Shining Karaoke, located in Camelot.

During both of these events, participants talk to all other participants. Everyone is given five minutes to ask questions before they bell rings and you move onto the next person.

The tables all have cards that include simple questions if someone is stuck on what to ask. Here are some examples of what kind of questions there might be. Of course Speed Frienshipping won't have any "shippy" questions or ones that could be implied as such.

Everyone is free to make Top Levels for their characters for before and after the events themselves for mingling, singing karaoke or anything! World's your oyster and so on.

[ Awkward laughter. Okay, that was just her. But he better not think he could get away that easily: she had more questions, but first... ]

Okay then. What book are you reading at the moment?

(Rose pokes her head out from the pocket of his jackets and begins to squeak a lot to Monika as if she is trying to say hello to her.)

A romance! It's called Proud and Prejudiced. [Not at all a knockoff of a more popular romance she loves, nope.] But I've been busier writing than reading of late. I find it very relaxing and it helps me put my emotions in order. [She beamed.] I take it you enjoy literature then?

[ No quicker way to friendship than enjoying literature as far as Monika's concerned. But before she could inquire more, she spotted Rose's head— ]

Aww, is that your familiar?

Well, I am just asking off from my smartphone, but my roommate has been getting me into looking into more books for a while. Just got busy with work, that’s all.

(Rose squeaks again once while her eyes going wide.)

Oh why yes, she is my familiar and she is very cute and fluffy too. Her name is Rose and she is a Pygmy Puff.

[ She extended a hand to pet Rose. Why were all familiars so cute, fluffy and agreeable... Except hers who was a grump that did nothing but sleep? Life was unfair! ]

Books are a wonderful thing. Back home, I was president of a Literature Club and over here, I have a channel dedicated to literature. [She laughed.] So if you ever need book recommendations, I'm glad to help.

(Rose happily purrs as she gets pet on. She is more than happy to let Monika pet her all she wants, and Harry is happy to see this cute interaction played out.)

Oh, that is really neat. I would love to get some recommendations for me to consider and I might check out the channel real soon. Oh by the way, my name is Harry, Harry Potter. You can just call me Harry.

I'm Monika, just Monika. [Blame her creator for not bothering to give her a last name.] It's nice meeting you, Harry!

[ Monika continued petting Rose for a moment, tilting her head. ]

Well, I mostly read poetry, short novels and romances. But I'm pretty knowledgeable in all genres. [She ceased the petting for now and raised her finger.] What kind of themes and stories do you like?

(Rose happily squeaks to her in delight.)

Nice to meet you, Monika. Well, I haven’t figure that out until now, but I am pretty open to suggestions since I didn’t have the time to read a lot growing up.

[ She paused, thinking for a moment. ]

I think you should start with short stories. You know, before jumping into books with hundreds of pages— Get a feel for what's out there and what kind of stories click with you the most.

That sounds like a really good advice, Monica. I will try to see if the central library has some short story anthologies for me to borrow. Hopefully there is something out there for me to enjoy.

(Rose meanwhile happily nods in agreement: he is not sure if Pygmy Puffs can read, but it is pretty clear that his familiar is more than happy to support him getting into reading more stuff.)
