Off Limits isn't the easiest place to find, tucked away in a side street as it is, but once you find the street, the neon sign is a dead giveaway. And if that still isn't enough, the fact that there are cameras floating around the streets, signposting the route for the race may do it. Step inside the gym itself and Kate — hair pulled up into pigtails, looking cosy in thermal leggings and an orange hoodie — will lead you through the main hall to the outdoor training area if you're competing (after taking your money and making you sign a waiver) or ask if you prefer to sit inside or out to view. In both cases you'll find chairs and a projector system currently broadcasting the route for the race, as run by Off Limit's surly owner.

There are quick explanations of the rules — don't use magic, feel free to use other routes as long as you pass the "checkpoints" the cameras create, don't interfere with other competitors, and anyone who does try to cheat will find themselves shot with some of the enchanted arrows Kate has procured for quest purposes (yes, that's been written in the waiver, hope you read the fine print!). And disqualified. Then a quick reminder that the first, second and third place racers can choose their prize in order of placement (first place gets first pick, etc) and everyone who doesn't place will be given a pack of homemade lavender tea as a thank you for competing.

[Keith looked up as he heard someone approach, and then shrugged at her comment.]

Still stinks. But, yeah... I should probably wait. [He could walk, but it still hurt, and was going to put a damper on his ability to do anything if an emergency came up. No point in suffering through it if someone was around to help him out.

That said, he knew it also wasn't a priority if there was anyone else worse off, so he wouldn't turn down the bandages, either, for the time being. Having been a rather rambunctious kid, he was also pretty knowledgeable about wrapping sprains. He just hadn't found the bandages before he decided he just needed to get off the ankle for a bit.]

[Jean can say whatever he likes when he's doing Rei a favor, really. Once he's finished the healing Rei flexes his fingers a bit to try it out, and smiles again, satisfied.]

( he's not wrong there. Kate can repeat her old coach's wisdom, that lesson that you can't be an athlete unless you're prepared to lose, but she sure as hell doesn't live by it personally.

Heh heh! I think I'm too busy living my life to have it shown to others... but my uncle does own a movie studio! Then again, he kind of owns everything...

Kate pauses a second, mostly because she's really stuck on how to reply to that while playing the business owner role (straight up saying that sounds insane is probably not the thing to say to potential customers).

ugh, she wishes she had Ainsworth here. he'd find ways to smoothly transition this conversation, wouldn't so much as miss a beat. )

Anything I can try! Mostly quests, though - they're the closest thing to doing what I do back home. I've ranked up quite a few, if I do say so myself... I'll be one of these days, I could even be a knight again, if I wanted to.

[He winced just a bit as he readjusted his leg's position and got the ice back on it again now that she was done.] I've got gear here that has jetpacks on it... usually, it's for getting through space, but they also come in handy for slowing a fall or boosting a jump when there's some semblance of gravity around.

( the quests are a pretty good timesink. more like her work at home, and thus a good way to keep her skills sharp, but if Kate's honest...
