Trumpets blow loudly to introduce the start of the tournament day. Everyone is invited to watch or participate. Those who would like to sign up need simply sign in for the competition they seek to join in on. Sign ups open at 8am, though you can sign up any time before the start of your competition category. There are different prizes listed for each category!
In the sign-up area before the tournaments begin, there will be a number of entertainment shows going on: Some of the fae who were invited are giving enchanted body paintings. Once the painting is finished, they will travel across your body like a living tattoo. Please be sure to specify if you would like it to be permanent or temporary, and exactly what you want-- especially if you want a permanent one.
In addition to the body painting, there will be a number of clowns playing pranks and giving out balloons that, when popped, completely cover the surrounding 5 feet in glow-in-the-dark glitter that smells of your favorite scent. Each one will smell different depending on who is smelling it. What's more is the glitter actually dissolves after 12 hours, so you don't have to worry about it never getting out of anything. Amazing!
There are additional dance shows and parades going on through the town and near the sign-up area to draw people in, and little pop-up shops with merch you can buy to support the tournament-- cool t-shirts, sunglasses, hats, keychains, and more. Don't forget to download the Tournament Bets app so you can place money on your favorites to win and make bank! Maybe save some for the tavern afterward if things don't work out, though... or before you make any decisions, check out the castles' royal tea garden, beautifully decorated in a wide variety of wintery florals, which is set up and serving a delightful medley of teas with soothing effects. Just be careful-- each table has a magic grapevine that will communicate with another table, so you may end up hearing someone else's secrets on the grapevine... or just ending up with a fun conversation if you notice it before you say something you don't want to share.
As the tournament gets underway, it starts off with all of the multiview screens taking focus on the royal viewing box. In it stands a man that we have not yet seen before, but who stands with an air of dignity. He's wearing a suit, and a crown, and looks confident despite that he has many reasons to be hesitant- he is back from the dead, after all.
 | ”"My name is Arthur Pendragon, King of Camelot. Many of you may have heard of me from your worlds I'm told, and many still may not have, but I will begin with an apology. I should have been there for those of you who arrived months ago and have been bravely pursuing this battle without leadership. I am afraid a few millennia of culture shock have thrown me off course and the Advent of the Kardashians in my studies has not helped these matters. But that is little excuse. From here on out, I will be with you in your journeys. Those who have questions of me, I will be offering an..."
Merlin's voice comes in off-camera to help him out, since he's still not sure on all the lingo, offering "AMA" to assist, then Arthur continues.
"An AMA to you all in the coming days. But for the time being, let us celebrate the wins and strides you all have made with a tournament. Those brave enough to enter, I hope to see you vying for knighthood and fighting alongside me in the days to come. For the love of Camelot!" |
The video ends and the first tournament event begins. The categories and prizes are as follows:Close-Quarters Melee (No Magic): Any non-projectile weapon is allowed. You can jump from platform to platform to avoid hits but leaving the pool area will result in disqualification. Prize: 50,000G; (Recipe) Glowstick

"See, darling? He's going to do just fine. I wouldn't be surprised if he won~ Ah, that reminds me, are you competing in anything, Regis?" he asks, very gently resting a hand on Regis' as a subtle way to calm him down before the next bout. After all, Cor has left the ring!
"It'll be fun, telling Cor just how you behaved during his match."
no subject
"Goodness, no!" Regis shakes his head at the thought of Felih telling Cor about this. "Keep your lips shut, I swear! The last thing I want is for Cor to know how badly I fretted over him. He'll never let me hear the end of it." The same goes for Noctis too. He already gets teased enough by his son.
"But to answer your previous question, yes. I will be entering the ring shortly after this round." He joined up for three different competitions in hopes of better balancing his odds of winning. After all, he could really use that gold for his little family.
no subject
"I'm curious to see how your battle style looks, too~! I'll be cheering for you. Just look for my stunning crimson and gold fur in the crowd," he says, grinning up at him.
no subject
"I doubt I will have time to gaze into the crowd if locked in combat." He mutters as the new combatants step out into the field. The first competitor looks like a burly man dressed in reds and gold, while the other wears all black with this familiar nest of wild dark hair---
"Noctis?" The color completely drains from his face the moment he realizes that's his son.

The mention of Noctis, however, makes Felih's attention snap to the battlefield, wide-eyed. A young man...? But...
"I had been under the impression your son was still a kit," he says in surprise, eyes wide. "But he seems full-grown... if barely. Is he trained in combat as well, then? I suppose it makes sense, being the crown prince..."
no subject
"Oh dear," He mutters under his breath as he rubs his now aching forehead. "Perhaps I did Noctis a great injustice by speaking of him as if he's just a child but he's indeed a man grown. My son has been training since childhood on how to defend himself. Therefore, I suppose he'll be fine." Even though Regis is somewhat confident that Noctis will do just fine in this match, he's still a little nervous.
That much is apparent judging from how tightly Regis clenches his jaw.
no subject
"I see... do all those in your family seem to favor the color black?" he asks curiously, mildly amused by the prince's attire, before he looks up at Regis. "And is it just me, or were you more fretful over your mate than your son?"
Still, he does notice the way the man is tensing, and he bites his lip before reaching up to gently run his fingers along Regis' jaw. "Careful, my dear. If you tense up too much, you'll hurt yourself, and I doubt your son would be pleased to know you strained yourself worrying for him. Have faith in his skills."
no subject
Felih's playful tone eventually strikes a sour note with Regis. The old king gives him a stern glare, clearly displeased by that comment when he's positively fretting again. "I do believe you're mistaken." He states evenly while trying his best not to wring his hands as this match continues. Despite his grumpiness, Regis seems to relax just a little as Felih caresses his jaw.
"I do have faith in his skills," Regis admits with a sigh. "It's just that...well, he's my only child." And of course, a father is going to be protective of their kid but Regis might a little overprotective. ,i>Just a little.
"But he's no longer a child anymore."
no subject
The stern glare he gets soon after, though, has him shrinking down, ears pinning back submissively. The last thing he wants to do is get the man angry with him, considering the physical strength the royal family seems to possess. He tenses up a bit himself, a well-honed reflex by now to prepare for possible conflict, and sometimes he wishes his teammates were here with him.
"Your only child...? Ah... that makes sense," he murmurs quietly.
no subject
"Forgive me but this may not be the best place for such talks," He begins before adding the following. "As for the Astrals, they're the deities that rule my world of Eos. Much like Hydaelyn has its twelve, we have only six." Even though there are some overlapping similarities between Hydaelyn and Eos, the two realms couldn't be any different.
"Yes, unfortunately, Noctis grew up as the only child." He explains while watching the battle continue. "My wife passed when she was in labor."
no subject
He falls silent after that, just watching the bout with muffled interest. Watching the crown prince fight is fascinating, but the more he learns of Lucis and its royal family, the more... worried, he finds himself feeling. Things on Eos must be difficult too, he imagines.
"Things are difficult no matter the star, it seems," he finally decides on saying, eyes still fixed on the prince.
no subject
However, his thoughts stray from Aulea as he watches their son fight. Noctis has gotten better over the last few months. This is the first time he has seen Noctis in action since arriving in Camelot. His son is a deadly combatant, one worthy of praise since he's able to subjugate his opponents with such finesse and skill. Perhaps he has Gladiolus and Cor both to thank for that.
"It's been difficult for us all, hasn't it?" Regis asks as he spares Felih another glance. "Although, I truly hope that hasn't been the case in regards to you, Felih. You seem to be doing well for yourself."
no subject
"It looks like your son is just as skilled as one would expect. You must be terribly proud of him!" With the crown prince having won the bout so easily, Felih must admit he's impressed. He would make for a fine warrior in Eorzea, he thinks. "He would be perfectly at home amid the adventurers and warriors of my realm."
