Beta Testing (Closed to Riza)

[Out of all of the Dark Web quests this month, Archer decided to do the one involving an experimental dalmation stone. He figured if it involved his own blood it was likely that he would be in more danger than whoever he would give it to.

He was practicing his archery today and as he was finishing, he noticed Riza finishing her practice too. Once there was a good moment, Archer approached.]

Nice shooting.

[ It's the same gun she usually held in her hands, but it still feels strange to think of it as she does -- Something she doesn't seem to need to reload, ever. It cuts off half the work, but it still need adjusting around long-stilled muscle memory.

(Nevermind shooting had always been her stress relief).

When she decided it was enough for the day, the woman had replaced it in her holster and started to gather her things, when someone approached. She glanced up and over -- She'd seen (talked?) a few times now to him after all.

It's pleasantries all the same, but she remarked in kind: ]

You're not a bad shot yourself. Are bows the only thing you use? [ Probably she imagined, unless he had something from home like herself bows were what was used here-- but it's small talk at the end of the day. ]

Yes. I've never really tried to use guns.

[His father figure may have, but his ways never really passed onto him. Archery was more or less something he had started as a teenager and stuck with it.

He might as well continue the smalltalk for a bit. And he is a little curious.]

Are projectile weapons only types you use?

Guns aren't for everyone.

[ Her slight nod at the comment isn't an implication at him β€” A heaviness to the statement that to anyone who knew her sentiments on them might say she didn't care for them herself. But she's lost any right to say anything on the matter father. His secondary question earned a slight incline of her head. ]

Yes, I prefer to keep my distance from the target.

[ I like guns. Unlike a knife or a sword it doesn't leave the feeling of a person dying in your hands. The memory came and faded without a break in her expression, though she must continue on: ] You don't normally speak to me when we're through, was there something you needed today?

Understandable preference.

[Spoken with an air of murder experience. Not that he makes a number out of it.

As expected, she's very observant. It was odd for Archer to reach out to talk. He takes out a stone out of his pocket, showing it to her.]

I recently received this from someone and was told I should give it away. Something about the item's magic requires multiple owners. I'm not sure what will happen - but it seems the person who gave it to me was just fine, so it should be harmless.

[ Gun reholstered and area clear, the woman folded her arms across her chest after the inquiry. If there's concern she feels, it doesn't show in her face anymore than a brow pinching in consideration. ]

I haven't been here too long, but isn't a close approximation if they don't tell you what magic is within the item it can cause it's... own problems in some form? [ She hesitated only slightly to find the right words. Not necessarily dangerous, but annoying and troublesome. ] It can't be questions you have about the item. Would it be me correct in assuming you're hoping I'll be a willing receipient?

That would be true. However, I do trust the person who gave this to me not to cause any major problems.

[That was mostly a lie, but thankfully, he's a pretty good liar. He didn't know them nor would he trust them... but he was quite sure it wasn't anything too bad.]

You'd be correct about that, too. Of course, I won't blame you if you want to play it safe in this world.

hopefully this isn't too late for you since i promised!

Is that so?

[ She, admittedly, sounds dubious at the fact β€” Or more especially why an almost entire stranger would approach her. Better to pawn something off on someone if you don't think you'll run into them again: ]

Should I choose to help you with such a task what exactly would be in it for me?

[ Or would he force it regardless? ]
