Holiday Bash!!

[It's been a hell of a year, or close enough to it, for Ochako and her many friends here. From the varying trials and tribulations of general quests, to the more perilous missions between kingdoms, to new beginnings and changing tides...it's all a path forward on the long road of life. Despite the difficulties, Ochako's been able to reflect on this past year and finally find herself a bit - a new title and a new, but still somewhat the same, purpose in this world. Something given, something earned (even if she doesn't really see it that way, yet), but still very much hers.

Lady Uraraka (hrrgh...it'll never feel normal, yikes) is throwing a bit of a holiday celebration at her small castle to celebrate the coming and going of a full year. Not only that, but also Christmas prior, and even her birthday as well! All friends she knows, and anyone those friends care to invite, are welcome!! They'll be guided to a decently sized ballroom where several tables have been set up for people to relax and eat, and a separate table for gift giving and gift receiving as well!

What, you thought you'd come to this celebration and leave empty-handed? Pshaw.]

[Tsuna smiles back awkwardly, returning the bow with one of his own.]

I-it's nice to meet you, Uraraka-san. I'm Tsunayoshi Sawada...I came with Gokudera-kun.

Thank you for having me. A-and I'm good. I was just about to go see what was available, actually.

[Ochako actually beams at that, instantly perking up with a bright smile, a few of her nerves from before disappearing. If he knows Gokudera, then that's at least something she can sort of cling onto - any friend of a friend is welcome for as long as they like. plus, it's never bad to meet friends' friends, right?]

Oh, you're another friend of Gokudera-san?! Then I'm especially glad to meet you, Sawada-san!! Please, make yourself right at home! There's all sorts of things here - do you prefer a more Westernized meal or an Asian one? Ehehe, there's even some vegetarian options as well - Gokudera-san asked specifically for one of his other friends he invited.

If you want to start with a drink, I can fetch you something. [Or have one of the staff do so, but she's been helping out, too. It just...feels weird to host and not offer people things herself, or help out. Her arms and legs aren't broken. :|]

[The smile does actually bring some relief to Tsuna and he manages to relax a bit. He's not completely in the wrong place at least.]

Uh, yeah! We're from the same world.

[Though the questions cause a bit of fluster.]

I, uh, I guess Asian is fine. Yeah. And I guess, whatever's being served is good.

[Ah...she was definitely right to assume this kid is kind of a wallflower, huh? Ochako snickers a bit, being kind of reminded of Izuku a bit, from where he was still kind of twitchy and weird at the beginning of the school year at UA. Still, that does little to deter her from being charmed by him, all things considered, and shuffles over to the tables that have a wide array of foods on them.]

We have hot and cold noodles, lots of steamed rice, fried tofu...or if you want it boiled in the hot pot, that's an option as well!! There's also miso soup, or Kansai-style ozoni. [The SUPERIOR style of ozoni, and Ochako will hear no more.] Take a look around, ehehe, or just let me or one of my chefs know if you want something specific.

You don't need to be shy, Sawada-san! If you're a friend of Gokudera's, I'll make sure you're right at home, ne?

There's a hot pot option? I might help myself to that then.

[He hasn't had hot pot in a long time. Even if this isn't quite the normal setting for it. The talk of food does seem to relax him though. It's a bit more normal.]

Yeah!! The tables you can sit at have one there with tons of really yummy ingredients to put in! I only ask that if anyone at your table who doesn't eat meat goes first, so they can take out the veggies and broth before to dip and cook the meat that way.

[Since the hotpot, outside of the thinly sliced beef, is mainly vegetarian. The broth itself is even a khombu broth, and everyting outside of that to dip in is just vegetables, some flavorful mushrooms, and tofu. There's also udon to make into soup out of said broth.]

Ehehe, of course!! I'm glad he brought so many people here, it's really nice to meet you all. And I wanted to throw a party anyway for the holidays [And her birthday, which is actually today ~~when this post first went up~~, but doesn't mention it.] and stuff anyway, so I thought to just combine everything together.

The only thing I still need to look into is if there's a temple or shrine in this world...I'd really like to do hatsumode after the new year...

That makes a lot of sense really.

[Tsuna nods, though there is a part of him that hopes he gets a table to himself. He doesn't often get to have a full feast, usually competing with the kids, and Reborn himself.]

But I guess it is the time of year for that, huh? I wouldn't mind doing something like that if you manage to find one.

[He'll have to look himself.]

[Poor Tsuna...if she knew that he was yet another introvert, she might have made an actual "escape room" for him, too. One was already prepared for Bakugou, but that's because Ochako knows he hates social interactions like this, and can only tolerate them for a set period of time before he needs to retreat.

Something for the future, definitely... She might open up the library or study as places for people to retreat to if they need their space.]

Mm, in just a few days, yeah. I really don't think there would be one, since this world is really westernized, but...it'd be nice to have at least that much of nostalgia, you know? [Since New Year is so important to Ochako's culture, and the tradition of the first temple visit is equally so.] If I find anything like that, though, I'll definitely let you know, Sawada-san.

Maybe we can go together? AH! I-If that's not too forward, ehehe...

[Tsuna just doesn't know how to really act at parties. He's not the type to get invited. Or at least, he wasn't the type.

He turns a bit pink at the offer and stumbles over his words a little.]

Y-yeah, please do...a-and no! Not at all. It would be fun.

[Honestly, it's just a little get together to chat and give gifts and stuff. Eat food, mull about, play some games...nothing overly formal or fancy. Just a gathering of friends to reign in the new year and stuff. No one has to act a certain way or anything. Ochako's a bit of a dork herself, really, if her so-called ugly Christmas sweater were any indication (she fucking loves the thing Bakugou got her, it's super comfy).]

Perfect!! I'll definitely let you know! And even if it's just a small shrine or temple or something... Something is better than nothing, right? Eh, I know it's not polite to ask, but what would you wish for coming into the new year?

Yeah...and well, I guess.

Part of me would want to wish I could go home. I have a lot of friends counting on me and I left at a bad time.

Ah...actually, you and I have a bit of a similar wish in mind, Sawada-san. [She laughs a little sheepishly, rubbing the back of her neck a bit before going in for that sweet sweet distraction and grabbing a bit of food for herself.]

I'd really like to go home myself. I really miss my mama and papa, and...w-well, this'll be the first holiday I'll be spending without, um...seeing them. [Or even hearing their voices via phone. That part hurts the most - Ochako and her parents are extremely close.] B-But it's fine!! I've got plenty of friends here from home, and I'm still making new friends all the time here, so...so that helps.

Y-Yeah. I get that. It's been a while now since I've seen my mom. But having friends does help. I don't know what I would have done without Gokudera-kun.

But it's nice to have reminders from home to.

[And there's a part of him that's still cognizant of the fact that, as far as he's concerned, his friends are still in danger.]

[There's definitely a pang of sympathy when Tsuna mentions his mom, because god does Ochako understand how hard that is, but she understands that having people you know around you helps considerably. It's probably why she took the girls leaving so long ago as hard as she did. Ochako's never really dealt with something like that, after all - not being able to see or speak to your friends and loved ones.]

Mmh, it's the same with me and my friends, too. Deku-kun, Bakugou, and everyone else...it's kinda funny how much closer you feel to them in places like this, ne? Feels almost like they're your second family or something.

I'm really glad you have people here with you, too, Sawada-san, I know it can be really hard, but um...please make yourself as home here tonight, as best you can!! If you need anything, me or my staff can help you. Oh! And if you want, you can sit with me or my other friends, too. [Or at least, a lot more energetic than he usually is. Tsuna is keeping an eye on him, but he's never really had to wrangle drunken friends before. And he didn't think he'd have to do that for at least a few years.]

Ochako still doesn't fully understand the concept of polyamory - she'd need a detailed discussion about it, probably - but so long as they're all happy, and Gokudera isn't causing trouble.

Honestly, she's more concerned about the actual lush she invited, and has been trying to keep an eye on him, but he's...quite slippery, that bard.]

Mm!! That's why I wanted to include it, too. With so many people, I thought it'd be a good way to get everyone to come together and meet each other!! Plus, ehehe...I just really like to eat it. I don't get to much, and it's best when it's cold out, y'know?

Yeah, same. Though I'm sure if my friends and I tried, it would probably be a chaotic nightmare.

[Reborn would try to turn it into some sort of game or some ingredient of Bianchi's would ruin the whole thing with poison cooking. At least back home.]

[A lively and energetic group of friends is just normal for Ochako. Probably not what Tsuna is thinking, but a class of 20 superpowered teenagers is equally chaotic in a different kind of way...

She leads him over toward a table, where a few people she knows are already chatting. Ochako will motion for him to sit before offering a cup of tea.]

Mm, and with all this space now, I can probably host more as special occasions come up. I...really doesn't know what else to do with the space, actually. Aheh...heh...it's still such a huge change from my normal.

It can be, but I'm usually the one trying to keep everyone else under control.

[With limited success. He has just sort of accepted it now.]

[Keeping the peace between her hotheaded friends (Bakugou, mostly), and the others is a trying task, but class 1-A works as a massive, family-like unit. They all support and care for each other and mediate when and where they care. Some are just better than others.]

Mmh, it's going to be tricky, but I think I can handle it. I've stood up to scarier things, ehehe!! What about you, Sawada-kun? What's it like where you come from? How did you and Gokudera-san meet?

[Tsuna freezes for a moment, his thoughts trying to organize themselves into a plausible story that does not involve explaining the chaos that he brings to Namimori. Or that Gokudera was initially brought there by Reborn to kill him.

What is his life?]

I, well, I'm from Namimori but it's nothing special really. Just a regular town honestly.

Gokudera-kun was an exchange student at my school, and we sort of became friends after that.

Namimori? Eeh...that's not a place I recognize. You must be from a different Japan than me, too. S'weird to think about there being places in the, um...multiverse, I guess, that are both similar and different.

[Seeing as how Ochako's met with so many people that are from different Japans than herself. Each one seems inherently the same but with different cities and towns. Hell, even Musutafu isn't known to anyone but people from her world. It's so strange to think about sometimes.]

Ah!! That's so kind of you to do! Transferring to a new school is always a little scary...and what with how Gokudera-san acts, ah. Ahah... [He's a delinquent, let's be real.] I bet it wasn't easy for you both.

[Parallel worlds aren't a new concept for Tsuna but they sure do make his head spin even now. It's a lot, to be sure.]

Hiee? Where are you from, Uraraka-san?

[More out of curiousity than anything else. Just how different are their Japans?]

It wasn't, at first. But it didn't take us long to get to know each other and get along. You kinda just have to get past Gokudera-kun's initial barriers, a ha ha...

[And maybe save his life from too many bombs in your underwear. Always the best start to a friendship.]

Mm? oh, I'm from Musutafu!! I'm not sure if you've heard of it...not a lot of people I've talked to who are from other Japans are familiar with the province...

[The over country probably isn't different it terms of history and culture/customs, but with the revelation of quirks and the development of Hero society, it's sure to have a large difference after a certain point, definitely. Ochako doesn't really know much about Tsuna's world, either, actually.]

Ehehe, I think I know what you mean about Gokudera-san!! He and Bakugou are really similar in personality, so I think I'm a little more, um...comfortable around people like that? I mean, I can deal with 'em a lot better after knowing Bakugou so long. [Ochako beams, taking a sip of her tea.] I will say, though... people like that are definitely worth getting to know. Even if it takes a lot of time, they're really great friends when you earn their trust.

I'm not, sorry. Is it near Tokyo?

[Admittedly, even if it did exist within Tsuna's version of Japan, there's a good chance Tsuna doesn't know where due to his poor academics.]

They are. A few of my friends are kind of like that.

[Well, aside from Gokudera there's Hibari...but Hibari is also very much his own thing.]

I'm really grateful for them. Even if it's made my life really chaotic.
