Holiday Bash!!
🧙 WHO: Ochako Uraraka (
floatsaway) + CR (and their +1s)
⚔️️ WHAT: HOLIDAY/BIRTHDAY PARTY YEAAHHH
🕒 WHEN: Now, I guess. :U
🗺️ WHERE: At her CASTLE.
⚠️ WARNINGS:Venti stop trying to get Ochako TURNT None, probably...other than Bakugou's potty mouth. :(
[It's been a hell of a year, or close enough to it, for Ochako and her many friends here. From the varying trials and tribulations of general quests, to the more perilous missions between kingdoms, to new beginnings and changing tides...it's all a path forward on the long road of life. Despite the difficulties, Ochako's been able to reflect on this past year and finally find herself a bit - a new title and a new, but still somewhat the same, purpose in this world. Something given, something earned (even if she doesn't really see it that way, yet), but still very much hers.
Lady Uraraka (hrrgh...it'll never feel normal, yikes) is throwing a bit of a holiday celebration at her small castle to celebrate the coming and going of a full year. Not only that, but also Christmas prior, and even her birthday as well! All friends she knows, and anyone those friends care to invite, are welcome!! They'll be guided to a decently sized ballroom where several tables have been set up for people to relax and eat, and a separate table for gift giving and gift receiving as well!
What, you thought you'd come to this celebration and leave empty-handed? Pshaw.]

Thanks! That was actually a lot of fun. [ She considers the different choices for a moment, feeling a little torn. ] Hmm...I've never really had it in a soup before. But the daifuku sounds really good...

[Truly, it's got a lot of good root veggies like carrot, daikon, and potatoes, some spinach, and a delectable broth of dashi stock and white miso. Ochako won't share her mama's recipe, though, unless buggered into it. Some things she just wants to keep close to her heart.]
Oh, oh, and the mochi gets all stretchy and chewy that you can PULLLL super far when you bite it, ehehe!! That was my favorite when I was really little. [Because what little kid doesn't like playing with their food?]

[But in the meanwhile, Ochako will cut off a section of that mochi and head over toward the kitchens with it to prep it for some Kansai-style ozoni! Amy is welcome to follow or take a seat somewhere and Ochako will bring it out herself in a few minutes.]

[ Amy does tag along to the kitchen, mostly because she's curious to see what else goes into the soup. ]
Anything I can help with?

You really don't have to!! You're my guest, and I'd feel weird asking you to do work when you're supposed to be enjoying yourself. Um...I guess help me bring it out when it's done? [Even if it's just a small bowl and chopsticks/a spoon, and doesn't require any heavy lifting at all...]
no subject
But sure, I can help you bring it out.

[Because Ochako can't really say she wouldn't offer to at least wash dishes or put them away if she was at someone else's dinner party. It's just good manners, really. But had she known...maybe she wouldn't have gone all out. Hindsight and all that...oh well! Something to look into next time - she'll just ask her friends to help with the set up and clean up. B-Because it's cheaper, cough.
Either way, in no time at all, the ozoni is ready, the grilled mochi set into the broth, and Ochako is handing Amy a tray with all the fixings. There's also a small side dish of steamed, white rice as well, because of course there is. Ochako has her own, too.]
Okay, let's fine a seat!!

Mm...it smells so good!

I really hope you like it, Amy-chan!! I used my mama's recipe that she taught me, so it's really special.
[And it's really. Really good, too. The broth is light, clean and flavorful, and the meat and veggies are cooked to perfection, too. Topping it all off, the mochi has a perfect stretch and great chew as well. Ozoni's not a difficult dish to make at all - it's actually very simple - but it's easy to tell this is a dish made with a ton of TLC.]

...Mm! Oh wow, this is amazing!
wrapping here!!
So she just hums happily, eats and chats with Amy (sorry, but that recipe is going to stay a family secret, if she asks), and just looks out over the small crowd of gathered friends and loved ones with a loving smile. Ochako was...actually a little bit afraid to celebrate her birthday this year. It'd be the first one without her parents, but looking out over everyone's happy, smiling faces...she feels it's okay.
She still has a different kind of family here.]
