[It's been a hell of a year, or close enough to it, for Ochako and her many friends here. From the varying trials and tribulations of general quests, to the more perilous missions between kingdoms, to new beginnings and changing tides...it's all a path forward on the long road of life. Despite the difficulties, Ochako's been able to reflect on this past year and finally find herself a bit - a new title and a new, but still somewhat the same, purpose in this world. Something given, something earned (even if she doesn't really see it that way, yet), but still very much hers.

Lady Uraraka (hrrgh...it'll never feel normal, yikes) is throwing a bit of a holiday celebration at her small castle to celebrate the coming and going of a full year. Not only that, but also Christmas prior, and even her birthday as well! All friends she knows, and anyone those friends care to invite, are welcome!! They'll be guided to a decently sized ballroom where several tables have been set up for people to relax and eat, and a separate table for gift giving and gift receiving as well!

What, you thought you'd come to this celebration and leave empty-handed? Pshaw.]

There’s got to be a dance like that, where the lead tries to step on his partner’s toes the entire time, and it’s some artful dodging that makes it look cool…

[Gokudera is still sort of drunk-blabbering. He hushes some as she pulls him close, looking into the room, then at her as she sings. He’s smiling gently and leads her towards the next room. It is set up more like an office, the furniture being mostly bookcases to the walls, and a desk in a corner. The lighting isn’t great, but he can work his magic, and with those large doors at the end of the room open… there is their dancing space.]

[She shakes her head at such a notion where the point of the dance is to intentionally harm the other. She does not think it would be a very good dance. But what does she know of modern dances? Rather, they're inside the room and she looks around.]

There is no balcony here, darling.

[He’s just making it up. But if that dance were real, he’d probably love to watch it. Not if it was intentional foot-stomping, but well-timed evasion… it could probably look really neat. Fighting that looks like dancing. He’s walking into the room, turns on a light at the desk, and then seems to pull more light from it, sends it up into the corners of the space, and approaches the large doors at the end of the study.]

Yes there is, Rose.

[He opens them with a grunt and one big tug. They swing and sway, and cold air blasts right at him. For as high up as this room is, there is a bit more wind. Gokudera directs it skillfully, though, and creates more light from the orbs in the room, setting it down along the railing.]

See! It looks over the entrance hall!

[Gokudera points to the illuminated front doors of the castle, then moves to lean over the railing. He pulls out a cigarette, lights it, and relaxes further with the exhale.]

[She looks over the railing and turns to look at him, lifting a brow. She reaches up and runs her fingers along his jaw.]

We cannot dance if you are smoking. [She doesn't want it blowing in her face.]

[Gokudera turns his head to look at her and smiles around his cigarette.]

I know. We still have to pick a song, though.

[He’s taking out his device and holding it out to her, scrolling through fully orchestrated works and wondering what may fit the mood best.]

We can pick one at random, if you’d like?

[He can finish this cigarette just as soon as he lit it, honestly. Gokudera also wouldn’t dream of smoking while dancing with her. It’d be rude enough just smoking around her, but she’s close. He tips his head away to exhale more smoke, then takes another long drag.]

[Being gifted with song meant that Aurora had ridiculously good abilities in music. So she listens for the perfect song for a waltz, her eyes closed, and then she stops when she hears the song she wants.]

This one.

Dance with me? [She grasps his free hand.] I want to dance.

[Gokudera enjoys most of those songs, as they are on his playlist. A few of them, he plays piano to, and not having the sheet music, has to do a great deal of improvising.]

Ah. Good choice.

[He puts his cigarette out against the railing and pockets the filter, not wanting to create trash in Ochako’s new castle. Gokudera walks Rose out away from the rail, but keeps them on the balcony. The device is playing loudly and he’s taking her hand up, his other moving to slide up her back, resting just below the center of her shoulder blades.]

Then, we’ll dance.

[And he’s pushing his hand to her back, guiding where they head with their joined hands, and stepping forward and to the side.]

[Aurora adores dancing. She falls into step and rhythm seamlessly, like she was born to be dancing. Her hand rests on his shoulder like that's where it belonged, her other hand within his can feel his gentlest of guides and so, she follows.

Yes, she absolutely adores dancing, and she loves being in Gokudera's arms even more.]

[Gokudera feels he’s keeping the pace well enough, but he’s essentially just moving them in a circle, not sure where to go from here. She looks pretty, even more so while she’s doing what she loves, and her dress moves with her, making every motion that much more elegant.]

[Aurora has caught the tune enough to be humming along to it and she's just thrilled to be dancing, it doesn't HAVE to be fancy for her to be enjoying herself, it's been so long that she's gotten to dance. And for all his insistence that he isn't doing much, that he's willing to do this at all, that he's trying, means something to her.

And he's so terribly handsome with the way his hair falls about and frames his face.]

[He hadn’t noticed she was humming until he’s easing up, just taking them in this circle, following a basic box-step but not knowing how to add any flair. Gokudera is the type, after all, to make whatever he does flashy.

But having someone like Rose to dance with is pretty flashy, and no one else has been dancing that he’s seen. It’s all acceptable, except that he stumbles a bit, mutters, and then blushes anew.

Gokudera enjoys the privacy in this, the contrast of the winter air against them, and the way it seems the lights spin about with their movement.]

[When he stumbles, she adjusts so as not to stumble or let him fall. She is just happy to dance, it doesn't have to be fancy for her to just be happy doing it. She closes her eyes with the steps remaining the same.

The smile on her face is giant. This beautiful private moment is for them and them alone, and that's how she likes it.]

[Gokudera chuckles at his own stumble, and at how well she moves with him. He puts his head down onto her shoulder, closes his own eyes and just feels how they move together. It’s surprisingly easier, especially with the amount of space around them. There’s little risk of bumping into anything, and he’s slowing down, keeping her close.]

Thank you for dancing with me, Rose…

[He’s not trying to say so to signal the end of their dance, but is so full of appreciation that he can’t keep the words to himself.]

I will always be your dance partner.

[She offered with a soft hum, breaking her song to answer him.]

I'm glad you're enjoying yourself tonight.

I’d have to be a real fool to not enjoy myself!

[Gokudera chimes in reply, clearly enjoying this time they’re spending together.]
