[It's been a hell of a year, or close enough to it, for Ochako and her many friends here. From the varying trials and tribulations of general quests, to the more perilous missions between kingdoms, to new beginnings and changing tides...it's all a path forward on the long road of life. Despite the difficulties, Ochako's been able to reflect on this past year and finally find herself a bit - a new title and a new, but still somewhat the same, purpose in this world. Something given, something earned (even if she doesn't really see it that way, yet), but still very much hers.

Lady Uraraka (hrrgh...it'll never feel normal, yikes) is throwing a bit of a holiday celebration at her small castle to celebrate the coming and going of a full year. Not only that, but also Christmas prior, and even her birthday as well! All friends she knows, and anyone those friends care to invite, are welcome!! They'll be guided to a decently sized ballroom where several tables have been set up for people to relax and eat, and a separate table for gift giving and gift receiving as well!

What, you thought you'd come to this celebration and leave empty-handed? Pshaw.]

[ Alberto opens it pretty hastily after he gets over his initial shock of being offered the gift at all, paying no mind to not absolutely destroying the wrapping paper or anything. But when he sees what's inside, it takes him pause, just staring at it in his hands... He doesn't even inspect what's inside, just reads the cover and lets a look of uncharacteristically complicated emotion wash over his face — another odd blip, like his past mention of this "Bruno" character he has, that draws some question about what this vivacious kid's inner life is really like, how much of all this vim and vigor is possibly put on — but after a couple beats, he quietly sets the box aside...

...and launches himself into an abrupt but enthusiastic hug, shifting to his knees in order to better throw his arms around Izuku's neck and shoulders without warning. If Izuku even has time to notice his face, with how fast this happens, he'll see Alberto isn't even smiling! He's just so moved!? ]

[For a very short moment Izuku thinks that maybe he picked the wrong gift. That slight change in expression and the uncharacteristically quiet second where Alberto observes the gift makes Izuku's eyes go a little wider in concern. He could return it- if it wasn't the right thing to get- but-

The boy suddenly launching himself to him makes him think twice. He almost topples over with a wobble and lets out a short surprising noise before his arms come around to hug the other boy.]

Alberto-kun?

[Somehow he feels like he shouldn't let go so he gives him a good hug!]

... You're welcome?

[He says that warmly if not a little unsure still. But maybe he did get something that Alberto likes! And maybe it means more than he thought it would? Alberto has always been this bright and exuberant kid. But Izuku has slowly picked up on those little bits that aren't always shown. A lot like Katsuki...]

[ Alberto lets the hug go on a moment longer, which indeed, indicates this gift probably meant a lot more to him than Izuku expected or even intended. He holds him a little tighter when he feels Izuku hug him back, but when he pulls away and leans back again, sitting on his knees with his hands in his lap, he's wearing a wide, warm, fond, lopsided smile that reaches his eyes. ]

Heh. Thanks, yeah.

[ He didn't even need to say it — but yes, that's what he was saying. ]

I can't wait to see what you make with it!

[Seeing Alberto's expression makes Izuku smile in return. It feels good to do something right as a senpai. He really hopes the boy enjoys it!]

I'm guessing you're having a good holiday so far?

[With that smile! A first Christmas is good!]

[ Alberto beams again, but gets back in a more comfortable position with his legs crossed, idly picking the present back up and just... holding it in his lap as they chat. ]

Heh— Yeah! I've never celebrated this before... My friend Asriel told me about, uh— who's the guy...— Signor Santa, and he brought me a photo album the other day! He left it at my door with a note! Asriel said he only gives presents to good kids, so I wasn't expecting it, but it's really cool— it's got seashells and stuff all over it. It's pretty. Oh, and this girl I know made a bunch of cookies for me! She even brought Sofia a fish! Hah!

[ He's seemingly so charmed and surprised by receiving gifts...? And another little unconscious blip revealing this maybe darker side of Alberto: "He only gives presents to good kids, so I wasn't expecting it." In fact, the pair got in a little fight about it — Alberto almost kicked Asriel out, he got so mad... But this side of the young boy has not been seen around Izuku yet, either. Seems like there are lots of surprises in store knowing Alberto, of all varieties. ]

[Izuku does in fact notice that one little bit that he wasn't expecting to get gifts today. It's a little surprising but not entirely. This boy seems to have a lot that he keeps to himself and Izuku can't really be one to push too hard for details about his life. He's curious, and maybe worried, but he's sure that if there was something Alberto really needed to talk about... He would hope he would find it in him to talk to someone.]

It sounds like you've made some great friends, Alberto-kun. I'm glad.

[He smiles encouragingly. Then he adds gently,]

I think if your friends know you're a good kid and want to share gifts with you then Santa must know too.

[ The comment draws a sweet, genuine smile on his face, touched by the sentiment. He knows he's not a bad kid — or he knows he tries to be a good kid, even if maybe it's not always enough... But he's not keen on showing this vulnerable side so much, so after a beat covers that bashful little smile up with a more teasing smirk, a humor that reaches his eyes. ]

Yeahhh... I guess so, heh. Aha, kinda creepy, though, eh? How's he know? I dunno this guy, hah!

[ He gives a dismissive wave of his hand. Asriel didn't really give Alberto the full scoop on Santa, because they got distracted debating whether Alberto was a bad kid or not, and if so, then which of them was the worse kid, so he didn't really get filled in on elves and lists and magical reindeer travel and whatnot... Is Santa a stalker? It is a little bit of a strange concept without background. ]

[Izuku can't help but laugh. Alberto is just... such a cute kid. And he's absolutely a good one.]

It's all about the magic, I think.

[Which will probably seem like a cop out to a smart kid like Alberto but...]

Or maybe something about the universe always being able to know the real you. Maybe it's Santa's quirk to be able to tell because of it.

[A super power!]

[ That draws a pause. On the one hand, it would feel a little like a cop out, because literally anything he doesn't understand in this crazy world can be chalked up to "it's magic." But putting it in the frame of Santa's Quirk being... uh... omniscient? Like an all-knowing superhero? That... That angle makes more sense, actually. ]

Huh...! May-be! Guess that makes sense. Heh...

[ He's chewing the idea over even as he speaks, clearly letting it click, before leaning back to prop himself up with his palms pressed to the ground, turning his gaze back on the fireworks a bit distantly for a second. But, after a beat and a particularly pretty blossom blooming and booming in the sky, he tags on a second thought, a little more ruminative, glancing at Izuku from the side. ]

...D'you really think the universe knows "the real you?" What d'you mean by that?

[Izuku takes a moment to let the concept sink in himself. He's older so of course, he knows that things like Santa aren't real. But the hope of him is something that's supposed to resonate with kids. Isn't it? He sits back and lets out a small sigh as he watches the crackling display above.]

I think it does. Be it how the world sees you or how you want to see the world... I think what you put in always comes back?

[That's a little complicated. It's like karma.]

Ahh... I just know that if you're a good person then the most important people are going to see it.
