[It's been a hell of a year, or close enough to it, for Ochako and her many friends here. From the varying trials and tribulations of general quests, to the more perilous missions between kingdoms, to new beginnings and changing tides...it's all a path forward on the long road of life. Despite the difficulties, Ochako's been able to reflect on this past year and finally find herself a bit - a new title and a new, but still somewhat the same, purpose in this world. Something given, something earned (even if she doesn't really see it that way, yet), but still very much hers.

Lady Uraraka (hrrgh...it'll never feel normal, yikes) is throwing a bit of a holiday celebration at her small castle to celebrate the coming and going of a full year. Not only that, but also Christmas prior, and even her birthday as well! All friends she knows, and anyone those friends care to invite, are welcome!! They'll be guided to a decently sized ballroom where several tables have been set up for people to relax and eat, and a separate table for gift giving and gift receiving as well!



What, you thought you'd come to this celebration and leave empty-handed? Pshaw.]

[ No one else gets anything, sorry. Alberto doesn't know shit about holidays. But he does know well enough to bring the host a gift, partially incidentally just because he... wants to...? Rather than out of concern for any good form or manners.

It's a nice gift, but... a little bit of a weird one. Ochako gets fish. Just— some fresh fish. Looks like— some kind of cod? Maybe? He's quick to bring it to her kitchen to store it since he just... brought it on its own, walking around town with three whole fish in his bag, but y'know, he caught it himself this morning, it's fine, it's fine.

What's more, though, he also brought her a box of trenette pasta and a repurposed glass sauce jar full of pesto he made himself — which, surprisingly, is actually pretty good! She can figure out the rest. But she'd told him when they first met that she loves seafood and fish, and that she wants to learn to make Italian food, so— ecco. Here we are. ]

Ochako

He doesn’t have very much, but here is a gift card redeemable at the local cafe’ in town. Gokudera knows they have good pastries and is all but guessing that Ochako likes sweets. Who knows!


Aurora

Gokudera failed to make a blackberry cheesecake. Just a plain cheesecake with a berry compote on top, not swirled in because he was worried the cake would need to cool. It’s a strange texture, but the taste isn’t bad. He tried.


Zuko

He’d purchased a set of pipes from the elphame traders some time ago intending to give it to Zuko. They do something magical when played and for the life of me I can’t remember what or find the link in the rewards page because I’m fucking stupid and can’t find my way out of a paper bag..


Tsuna

The boss is getting a wreath he made with Aurora. It’s… not very impressive, but he made it by hand and worked very hard and it’s embarrassing that he hand-made it, and it still doesn’t look great.

But it means a lot because he wants to make certain that his boss gets a gift that holds a lot of value. Gokudera is skilled at a lot, but not at making things with his bare hands. So, this is cute and a little messy looking, smelling of pine. It’s not his first attempt, so it isn’t falling apart, but it could definitely look better.

MIDORIYA

SNOW SHOES. Miraculously the right size? GET PROPER FOOTWEAR FOR THE WINTER, GREENIE. There will not be a note or anything attached to this gift. It is… anonymous. However, it is in the group of gifts Gokudera has placed out where the presents are supposed to be.

[Aurora knew NOTHING about Christmas besides a few things here and there. Which, unfortunately, meant she had no idea she was meant to give gifts let alone get them. She blinks when she's handed the cheesecake and looks up at Gokudera.]

Hayato, this is incredibly sweet of you, but my birthday isn't until January. Why are you giving me something now?

[Gokudera's drinking and walking up to her, a smug little smile on his face as he watches Aurora admire her gift. He can only hope it tastes good. He tried some himself, to be certain and it wasn't... bad. Something was off, but it's not enough to harm the sweetness. His cheeks are a bit flushed as he's working on his drink, and there is definitely alcohol in it. What kind? Who knows! Where'd he get it? He's not telling!]

Oh! Is it soon or later in January?

[He thinks he's being clever, but the grin against the rim of his glass says he's definitely going to use that information to give her a gift for her birthday.]

This time of year, it's custom in many parts of the world to exchange gifts! Also, usually the holidays are about spreading good cheer, and being grateful, or spending time with loved ones. It's a much more religious holiday where I'm from, but I'm not a very religious person.

[He'd have been brought up more religious if anyone actually bothered to bring him up instead of letting him live out on the streets.]

Do I need a reason to give you gifts, though?

It is nearly at its end, the 29th. Winter still has her grip on the world, but I've always seemed to walk in springtime.

Ah! I have not brought gifts, then, if it is such a custom. I have nothing for you or the others. [Once again, she's underprepared.]

Need a reason? Well, no, no one ever needs a reason to give gifts to someone they care for. [But, even though she was a princess, she was still RAISED a peasant and in the woods no less. While she wanted for nothing, gifts were still done with certain occasions in mind.]

It's not a custom to everyone. You don't need to give anyone a gift. I'm sure there are plenty here who would see your company alone as gift enough! M-myself included.

[He's feeling kind of sappy at her, but then... she's always been very sweet towards him. Why not?]

[Tsuna accepts the gift with an awkward smile. Not because he doesn't appreciate it, but because receiving gifts from friends is still a bit new to him. This time of year is usually just him and his mom so he doesn't expect much. But he's grateful.]

Thank you, Gokudera-kun. Did you...make this yourself?

[He digs a small gift out of a bag for Gokudera. It looks, to borrow a phrase, like it was wrapped by a small animal with no opposable thumbs, but the effort is there. When Gokudera opens it, now or later, he'll find a scarf and mittens, as well as a matching scarf for Uri, in a thundercloud pattern. For his Storm.]

[Gokudera gives a bit of a jolt as his boss thanks him. He doesn't know if he'll ever get used to his boss appreciating anything from him. It touches him very deeply, after all. He gets a bit flustered, blushing and bashful.]

I did my very best.

[And one of the woven pieces of pine pokes out as if taunting him, making the wreath look a little more wild, but still held by the rest of its woven counterparts. Gokudera accepts the gift and opens it right there in front of his boss. He's floored, puts the scarf on right away, and looks down at the mittens.]

Tenth, I love them! I'm touched you'd think of me! I- I should get you something better, this is probably one of the best things I've received!

[He bows deeply at the waist, holding the mittens to his chest as the scarf sways, sloppily tied about his neck and already making him nice and warm.]

[Tsuna wants to protest that they're nothing special. That he just saw them in a store and thought of Gokudera. But he shakes his head.]

No Gokudera-kun, it's fine. Really. This is really special, that you made it for me. I'm really happy about it.

[He treasures homemade things. It's why he holds on to his charm. Because he knows the feelings that go in to these things and he's only sorry he can't really reciprocate.]

[They’re both being very modest about their gifts, but honestly, Gokudera may have a lot of fashionable and functional items in his wardrobe. He’d forgotten the cold weather accessories, and his hands are so important to him. It’s nice to know they’ll be warm and cozy, and he got a gift from the Tenth! That’s enough to have him overjoyed.]

Next year I’ll definitely make you one that smells and looks a hundred times better than that one!

[It just smells like pine, but he’s always going to set his sights higher. His first friend deserves the best.]

...I didn't get you anything. Sorry. W-Was I supposed to bring gifts? You didn't say anything about gifts!

[ He had the good sense to bring Ochako a gift, just because she's the host and that's how he was raised, per tradition in the upper class, but... Was he supposed to bring gifts for Gokudera and Aurora?! He feels so out of the loop sometimes even after a year and a half spirited away. ]

[Gokudera smiles and shakes his head.]

You didn’t need to. I’ve been meaning to give that to you for a while, and you made me a beautiful painting. I just wanted your company.

[He saw the gift he brought for their host, and honestly didn’t even expect that.]

[Shoto's nothing if not polite sometimes, and so the boy comes with several gifts:

For the hostess herself: a boxed assortment of frosted cookies, paired with a mixed bouquet of fresh lilies and sunflowers. This flowershop errand-boy's first arrangement. (He's left the money, of course...) Assuming the guest list, he leaves a mint-green rabbit plush, and leatherbound Element Guide for Midoriya and Bakugou. Etched candles for Tokoyami. For other allies and friendlies: gold-inked hanging scrolls in his own neat calligraphy. Plus Ultra in flourished brushstrokes, since he's been practicing.

He's hesitant on the lasts—two polished wakizashi, which he's been saving. One for Shinsou. Reserving the other.

He'll hand it in-person.]

[ Though Amy had already given her Christmas gifts to her friends, discovering that it was Ochako's birthday had her looking for a last-minute birthday present. She'd already given the other girl a bunch of cookies, so that was out, but she also at least had an idea of Ochako's tastes, after their shopping trip before.

So in the end Amy is able to find a cute pair of boots to give Ochako, thinking it would match the hooded cloak she'd bought before as well. ]

Bakugou:

- One pair of leather gauntlets specifally made to help control rapid fire elemental magic.
- One very thick and fluffy winter cloak to help Katsuki stave off the winter cold. And look the part of some sort of fantasy characters... Izuku might have gotten a little carried away on how it looks.
- a new apron!
- One new hoodie! Looking familiar!

Ochako:

- Winters in Camelot are a little colder and snowier than the ones back in Japan. So the first gift that Izuku gets for Ochako is a very thick and fluffy pink knit blanket. She could lose herself in this thing it's so huge!
- It's so close to her birthday that Izuku makes a note for this gift is a birthday gift. This one is wrapped carefully and when opened it will reveal a special looking telescope so she can look at and chart the stars from her new fancy home too.
- A small box will contain a set of star-shaped charms. These charms are enchanted to help enhance the power of focus and clarity during complicated cognitive magic!

Eri:

- Izuku is sure to mark each gift as a Christmas gift or birthday gift! For Christmas Eri gets a unicorn kigurumi! Nice and soft to stay cozy!
- For her birthday Eri will get a box of colourful crystals. It will note how these crystals are specifically to help with the study and use of healing magic. Don't worry, Izuku will help her with it!

Tokoyami:

- A wrapped box will contain a very specific collection of... dungeons and dragons dice?! Is this a hint that Izuku might be interested in starting a special little club with Tokoyami?!

Shinsou:

- Shinsou will receive what appears to be a big block of wood at a first glance. But upon closer inspection, it might seem that this box is actually a puzzle that has to be opened. What's inside? If Shinsou can work out the puzzle there is a "Congratulations! One free lunch, my treat! -Midoriya" note inside!

Todoroki:

- For Todoroki he might have gone a bit more practical with his gift-giving. Since he knows that Todoroki is working with sword choices at the moment he picks to get him a back weapons holster that can hold two blades at a time.
- There is also a new scarf tucked into the gift as well!

ochako

[ Ochako doesn't know Zuko, but he's left a gift for her for generously inviting so many friends and strangers into her new home; likewise, he respects that she's been awarded the title of Lady. He is a guest in her castle, and he was raised with the custom that guests bring the hosts gifts — especially amongst nobility. So she's gifted with an ornate tin of chrysanthemum tea leaves presented in a plain red gift bag with white tissue paper. Chrysanthemum tea is said to taste smooth and thick with hints of sweetness and a touch of bitterness; as it is a green tea, she should be prepared for a smooth increase in energy, though nothing so sharp as ginseng. He doesn't leave a note or anything attached because... well... they're strangers. He's not even sure how to spell her name, even if he wanted to leave a nice note. Fine tea on its own will have to do. It cost him a pretty penny, just the elegant tin it comes in implies its high quality. He was careful and thoughtful in his selection. Iroh would be proud! ]

RECEIVING

This is a list of gifts Ochako will be giving out to people for the holidays!! Major CR will get their own posts to keep it organized, but all attendees will receive a gift basket of hand-made mochi in varying flavors Ochako made herself, a bunch of holiday cookies and candies, and a small bouquet of daffodils.]

Bakugou

- First and foremost, Bakugou is getting a big hug for the gifts he gave to her, and just for coming in general.

- Second, he's getting a mini cake in the shape of a grenade that Ochako had custom made for him by one of her chefs. There's been some strict specifications to not make it overly sweet, and he'll find it's actually quite light and fruity, too. A tart sweetness with a nice tang.

- And lastly, something Ochako thinks he'll quite enjoy a lot...a ticket for free admission to an axe throwing range. Get out a bit of that aggression by THROWING AXES AT TARGETS.

Eri

- A lovely and very cozy dress coat.

- A cream-colored knit cap shaped to look like a polar bear.

- A snuggly little buddy.

Tokoyami + Dark Shadow

- A small, but very soft plush Cerberus mostly for Dark Shadow, so they don't get lonely when Tokoyami is away.

- A rad as hell outfit.

- Finally, a silver chain pentagram bookmark for the grimoire she gifted him for his birthday. It was startlingly easy to find a lot of this macabre stuff and Ochako might burn a bit of sage before she sleeps tonight.......

Izuku

- Anticipating that Izuku is going to get a bajillion notebooks of some sort for Christmas, Ochako thought it best to get him something truly special for all of those. Inside a small box will be a feathered quill and a pot of ink. The quill itself has been enchanted to be able to 'erase' the words it writes off a page by gently brushing the feather over the script. The only one who can recall the text is the first person to hold the quill. Namely, Izuku.

- Using her elemental magic Ochako painstakingly formed a three inch high mini figure of All Might out of polished stone. It took her a ton or attempts to get it right, so if she looks a little fatigued, that may be the reason why. It's worth it is Izuku can reclaim his nerd collection here, and she can help with that.

- A small but very informative book on potion-craft. Leather-bound and very worn, Ochako was told it once belonged to a coven of white witches and while a lot of the pages ask for some weird shit, the potions inside have been tested and work wonders for things like insomnia, aches and pains, minor injuries, and even mild sicknesses like cough and sniffles.

Todoroki

- A long, ultra warm faux fur cloak. There's a light patterning like a snow leopard's spots.

- Knowing Todoroki, even if only just a bit, Ochako got him a gift card to a quaint, but very tasty noodle place that does a variety of noodle dishes from ramen, udon, to hot and cold soba. They even gave her a complimentary t-shirt as well...which she included for Todoroki. He doesn't have to wear it...

- A crystal ornament and/or charm (whatever he wants to use it for) that's shaped like a snowflake, but when the light reflects off it, it makes a colorful light pattern that looks like flickering flames. It's also been enchanted to be unbreakable.
