Rumor has it...

[While Jean hasn't been open about being involved with last month's dragon killing, but recently there have been rumors going on. Mostly that the team was made of three people still. One rumor even claims they're professional monster killers and another that they're pro assassins.

There is also a rumor one of them suffered a leg injury that still affects them. Which is the one rumor that makes Jean a little nervous because his leg is still healing at the start of the month. He can keep himself from limping too much for most of the time, but the longer he walks the harder that gets.

At least the rumors aren't the only talk of the town and he has a feeling they would eventually run out of insterest. Well, maybe Celliwig would continue discuss the rumors, but not really all of Camelot. And it would be fine as long as none of the people who actually gave him crap on the anon post would actually start investigating said rumors.

Which is why he was pretty calm about taking a walk around Camelot after work without too much worry.]

Animal Shelter

[Jean's new job is at the animal shelter Kadoc maintains now. He's there almost everyday, looking after the various animals.

Especially horses, since he has the experience to help with them. It's likely to find him at the stable part of the shelter, cleaning the stables or brushing the horses.]

... I mean, if you really like that mare, maybe you should talk to her more. Nothing can be accomplished if you just wish - no, I'm serious. You're both here and go out together. Why not use that opportunity?

[It seems being an animal mage sometimes means he's giving animals love advice.]

Wildcard

Jean is spending the month in Camelot and can most likely be found reading in the library, training at the training grounds or generally exploring the city.

[Since Crow and Jean work at the same animal shelter it was easy to agree that they would do a quest together. That's why they're currently over at the beach, looking for the tasselled wabbegongs.]

I wonder what the things we're looking for even look like... it would have been good if they had pictures attached.

[He supposed... they'd have to go to find them in the water. At least Jean has a way of doing that with animal magic.]

[ Crow doesn't have animal magic, so he'd be relying on Jean to determine what these things are. Though that doesn't mean he's not going to try to rush headfirst into things. Jean will hear a splash as Crow jumps into the water. The water is FREEZING, but he comes prepared with a wetsuit.]

Let's just draw them out!

[Crow starts making a ruckus by splashing around wildly and tossing a few rocks into the water.]

[Yeah, he figured the water temperature would be a problem.]

I could turn into a water animal and chasing them up so we can try and chase them out of here better.

[He doesn't think he could take any more of this freezing water and plus whatever he's trying to do isn't working. So he exits the water, and waits on the shore.]

Alright! Go for it!

[Jean at least hopes it will go smoothly. Though who knows what's waiting for him down in the water.

He changes into an otter once he's deep enough and then dives down. While he won't be able to breathe under water he will be able to hold his breathe a lot longer.

When he resurfaces he makes his way quickly to shore.]

Get ready. I don't think they liked me poking them.

What exactly did you poke?

[ Crow still has no idea what they look like, but he has his guitar drawn just in case he needs to bash some heads in. Hopefully, they can scare them off more amicably. Though he holds his breath as he starts seeing the water shift and ebb as various creatures take to the surface. He sees the fringe that almost looks like seaweed or moss floating along the water. The camouflage distracts him from a few tasseled wobbegongs sliding up to the surface with mouths gaping open!]

Oh shit!

[ Crow backpedals backward trying not to let the carpet-like sharks get him.]

Watch out, they can blend in with the sand!

Yeah, they were freaking hard to even spot down there because of that!

[Jean also backs out of the wobblegong's way, just in time before one of them pukes a potion out of its mouth. He doesn't want to find out what that potion could have done.]

Any idea how to chase them off without being hit by whatever potions they've swallowed...

Any ideas?!

[ Crow has no ideas because these wobbegongs actually make him want to run away instead! He dodges another carpet-like shark, and it regurgitates a potion just feet away from. However, the bottle shatters, and a cloud of purple smoke raises from it. Crow gets caught in the blast, and he starts changing purple to reflect his mood. Obviously, he's very afraid of dealing with these things!

But then that gets him an idea! What scares fish if not a bigger fish!]

Hey, can you transform into a whale or something? Maybe a bigger shark?! Or maybe I can make you look even scarier with my dark enchantments?

[At least it was a rather harmless potion. Jean thinks about the idea. He should be strong enough now to pull off a whale transformation without exhausting himself and getting stuck.]

How about a killer whale? That should be good enough to scare the things if you use your magic.

[They're scary enough as it is. Jean's only pulled it off once, but he's pretty sure he can do it again.]

Yeah! That should work!

[He sure as hell doesn't want to see one of those hanging out in the water, so it should work on the tasseled wobbegongs, too!]

I'll distract them, while you get the jump on them!

[ Crow uses his dark magic to gather the shadows along the shore and uses it to drop a dark veil over the group of wobbegongs, giving Jean a chance to transfigure into the killer whale.]

[After helping to settle down and find the horses, Jean and Mikasa decided to go look for the person in charge of cursing them. Horses mean a lot to both of them, so they're definitely not alright with this whole mess. They've managed to at least find the right direction to follow, thanks to scents from the horses Jean picked up as a dog.

The horses weren't helpful in telling anything because of the way the talked in their cursed forms.]

I can't believe someone is dumb enough to anger Archimedes.

[At least this time they're not on a quest to kill anyone or anything, even if he doesn't have to be completely unharmed either as long as he'll be alive for Archimedes to deal with him himself... Besides she gets to be here alone with Jean, that's even better too even if she probably should get more social life. Buuuuuuuuuuuuut it's not like Mikasa could ever say, that she doesn't enjoy spending as much time with him as possible♥

Anyway, Mikasa looks almost surprised, when Jean says that.]

[Jean is confused, because he's pretty sure Mikasa knows how scary Archimedes can get...]

Right, as if I've never ever seen you annoying anyone on purpose or getting into dumb fights everywhere. Some people just happened to choose a different target.

[But hey, at least they both know that Jean wouldn't go as far as changing the horses' appearance. Still. She remembers A LOT OF fights from their military days and from elsewhere too. Not that she minds his fierce temper and look, who's talking, at least he doesn't get called out for being a gloomy brat by their Captain.]

[He can't deny it, which makes it even more embarrassing to even bring it up.

He is somewhat walking a little faster now as if he'd find the person sooner like that.]

[She looks somewhat amused now.]

[Too bad! If Jean walks away too fast, he won't hear Mikasa chuckling behind her scarf.]

[Jean looks over his shoulder with a slight pout.]

You know, if your chuckles weren't the most adorable ever I'd told you to stop.

[Though then he can hear a voice coming from somewhere close and stops - keeping his voice to a whisper.]

Did you hear that?

[She's smiling there but she also seems to blush a lot at that.]

Too bad if it's just that, then I guess anything more is less cute.

[She's not serious about it but he's the one, who wanted this brat to marry him. But also, Mikasa leans closer to shut Jean up with a small kiss as soon as she too hears that noise near them.

She nods at his question. Yeah, she did, and she's taking a few steps to the direction where she at least thinks it came from... Could be a wrong direction too, who knows, she was mostly paying attention on Jean but then again, Ackermans and directions even if she is a normal girl here.]

[Jean does enjoy the way he was shut up - but he also looked at Mikasa with a 'you know that's not what I meant' look before they focus on the mission again.

Behind the large, snowy bushes is a campfire where some shady guy seems to be sitting around a fire. Jean quietly shifts back into a dog to sniff the surroundings... before nudging Mikasa that they're in the right place.

He will remain a dog for a while, so he can go and sneak closer to assess the situation.]

[Jean gets a 'I know.' look back from Mikasa. Yes, she knows, they can either talk about it later or leave it at that.

Mikasa sneaks closer as herself but she's always quiet like a cat anyway and this sure isn't her first time sneaking up to any amount of bad people whether that has been one or more...

She nods at Jean after he nudges her. Okay, good. Then she nods towards the man. They talked about this earlier; he'll go closer in his dog form and Mikasa keeps her eyes on the situation and stays hiding, for now.]

[Jean starts walking out to the opening, keeping his steps light and soundless. He checks for the surroundings to see if there are any others or if the guys is alone and what awaits them in the possible fight soon.

Once he's confident that things will work out alright he lets out a small howl to signal Mikasa to start their operation -- and just as the guy gets up in alert he transforms back into himself and punches the guy in the face.]
