Soon may the Wellerman come
To bring us sugar and tea and rum
One day, when the tonguing is done
We'll take our leave and go...
[He'll be more than happy to take requests. Something old? Something modern? He can take a crack at anything...]
no subject
...Do you know Spanish Ladies?
no subject
Ehe? Is that another sea shanty if I would fancy a guess?
[He plucks at his lyre.]
no subject
[Like, she knows the words, and hey, why not do a jam session.]
no subject
[And Venti will take no time to start the jam session with an expert play of fingers across his lyre. Notes spring to life and luckily since he knows so many sea shanties he figures this one has the same sort of bounce and beat to it.]
I'll be happy to hear you sing! Ehe~!
[Let's hear it!]
no subject
[Straightening up, Claire plunks down on a table, and begins humming the tune to give him a baseline...and then she starts up.]
Farewell and adieu, to you Spanish ladies
Farewell and adieu, to you ladies of Spain
For we received orders
For to sail for Old England
But we hope, very soon, we shall see you again
[She doesn't have the best voice, but she's had a couple of beers now, and it's not the worst. She at least has the melody!]
no subject
And once she's singing some of it Venti will giggle happily and add a few ad-libs.]
Ehe! We'll rant and we'll roar!
[But sing he doesn't know the lyrics (yet) he'll continue to let her lead!]
no subject
We'll rant and we'll roar like true British sailors,
We'll rant and we'll roar all on the salt sea.
Until we strike soundings in the channel of old England;
From Ushant to Scilly is thirty five leagues.
We hove our ship to with the wind from sou'west, boys
We hove our ship to, deep soundings to take;
'Twas forty-five fathoms, with a white sandy bottom,
So we squared our main yard and up channel did make.
[By now they've garnered some attention too, and at least a few of the locals start tapping their feet and humming along. A real performer and a Knight of Camelot singing is unusual!]

The snowfall is still heavy in Camelot. And Venti tries to stay inside as much as he can to keep his fingers and toes warm. But even Venti can't resist the chance to pull some classic tricks on a select few here and there. A tossed snowball, a misplaced sprig of mistletoe... a whole dump of snow...
It will be outside of the Inn that Venti waits ontop of the roof for a certain silver-haired someone to come along. All the while holding quite the load of soft fluffy cold snow above in the air with a swish and flick of kinetic magic...
You better watch out. You better watch out!]
Ehehe...
no subject
Still it isn't enough to keep him from venturing out. And he has no idea what mischief waiting for him on the inn rooftop. He moves directly below where Venti is positioned having absolutely no idea what is in store for him.
... Though he might be wondering where his
annoyingroommate has gone off to today. He honestly doesn't care what troubles Venti decides to get into, but he's unpredictable and who knows what might happen in the future. Little does he know]no subject
Most of the time Venti and Sephiroth seem to keep separate paths despite sharing a room. But today Venti is deciding that those paths will cross most perfectly. Because just as that man walks right under Venti's mark...
He'll release the snow from his kinetic hold to drop down!]
Oh! Ya-hooo!! Watch out, dear roommate!
[Don't watch out. Get wrecked.]

I have to admit. I'm not that much of a horse whisperer, dear Miss Ochako Chan. How do we go about catching runaway horses anyway?
[They have no idea that the horses have been cursed to look like hideous creatures so won't that be a shock to come.]
no subject
Or, in the bard's case, drinking. :|]
Ehehe, I'm not, either, unless I count that one time with the unicorns...they kept snuggling up to me for some reason. Ah, but if they're trained horses, I'd assume just approaching them carefully, or even offering them food, might get them to behave? If push comes to shove, I can physically stop them with my magic, but I heard that horses get scared really easily, so I'd rather not resort to that...
Mmh, I'm guessing you don't have animal magic, ne?
no subject
But how can he refuse to help his cute student?]
No, not at all. But I think I might be able to help in one way.
[Venti has a satchel with him. Inside he pulls out two apples.]
I think most beasts like something sweet and juicy at a glance. What do you think?
[Horses love apples or something.]
no subject
But! As Ochako leans over and peers at what her sensei is doing, she perks right up when she sees the apples. Oh, that's just perfect!! With a tinkling laugh, Ochako claps her hands together excitedly. Man, had she known about this quest about a month or two ago, she'd probably have a bag or two filled with apple halves... That one time with Tokoyami and the duplicating apple... Thankfully they got it under control, and the browned ones were sent to local farms for animal feed and as compost, so it worked out in the end, but...it'd be nice to have for bait. Two may be enough as a lure, but...hm. They'll have to see.]
I think that's wonderful!! Good job, Venti-san! I don't know for sure, but everything I've read about them in books and stuff says horses love apples! [Seems she read his mind.] Maybe we should cut into one? Let the smell carry so it attracts them better, right?
no subject
bottle or two...It's a good thing that Venti is a fiend for anything apple. He cares to take a few with him as snacks almost everywhere he might go. A fresh crisp apple always lightens the worst of moods.]
A sound idea! Shall we? Do you happen to have a knife?
[He doesn't happen to have one with him since he's the kind to kindly chomp into an apple fresh from a tree.]
no subject
Yup!! Here. [She holds out the handle for Venti to take, then looks up at the sky, mostly the clouds.] I hope we're upwind enough for the scent to catch far enough...
no subject
[Good thing she has stuff packed with her because Venti has shit all with him except his apple snacks... And his bow.
He starts to cut up the apple easily and carefully until they are in neat little slices. He's sure the horses will care to eat the core too so he keeps it in.
And then without even looking up from his apple cutting he replies,]
The wind will be on our side today, don't worry! It's just sweet enough to carry the scent of an apple as far as we need.
[Like he can somehow read the wind like a book...]

plus he's a freeloader anywaySometimes that means Venti doesn't have enough to buy food here and there. But worry not, fret not... Venti likes to take a five-finger-discount from time to time...
So. Here Venti is sneaking his way casually into the backside of the market to steal an apple or two... Sneaky sneak. Hopefully, no one sees him...]
no subject
[Shaking his head, he slips his way quietly over.]
Doing some shopping today, too?
no subject
He is slightly startled when someone catches sight of him and he quickly straightens and laces his hands behind his back.]
I might be browsing here and there!
[He smiles sweetly. Seeing the other he tilts his head curiously.]
Ehe, it's you! Hello, again! Good morning!
no subject
[Grinning, Zidane's not going to mention just how guilty this guy looks. Instead, they're going to be casual.]
Hehe, good morning! How've things been since the ride?
no subject
Oh, you know. A hard knock life of crumbling cities and slaughtered dragons.
[Ha...]
But keeping on the bright side of things, I'm sure.
no subject
[Going over the dragon part because that really doesn't need to be discussed right now.]
That's good. So, what're we picking up today?
no subject
I was only doing some browsing, actually! Nothing like admiring the wares of merchants near and far, don't you think?
[He wasn't stealing don't needle him like that!]
