A: Garden

[The garden over at the magical girl (and friends) house was getting ready for the upcoming winter months. Mamoru was working on strengthening any plants that needed it as well as carefully repotting the ones that could stay inside for winter. Some roses were dancing, again, but he kept on working and let them do their thing. They'd stop. Eventually. It was just a side-effect.

He looks up when he hears footsteps and smiles.]

Hey. I'm almost finished with this one.

[There were still some herbs and vegetables that needed to be harvested. Busy time, busy time.]

B: FLOOR IS LAVA

[Out of all of the things Mamoru had planned to do today, Floor is Lava was definitely not one of them. Good thing he's quick on his feet and there was a platform nearby he could jump onto.]

... now I really wish I could turn into Tuxedo Mask. [He mostly mumbles this to himself, but he feels like he's at a disadvantage when he can't jump high enough to soar through the skies anymore. Besides, he never really took the time to play the arcade games at home. ... not as himself anyway.]

Uh, hey, you okay? [He calls out to someone nearby.] Not sure if we're in actual danger since the structures aren't melting away.

Anything else that comes to mind. He is likely to participate any supporting quests and help around, and he's mostly found from the library or training grounds.

I'm not interested in having Mamoru catch the magical flu.

I’m alright. I can also tell that the lava doesn’t seem to be that hot either.

(Harry has also found himself in the middle of the lava game while he was bringing some stuff for the house too. Upon seeing lava appearing on the floor and beginning to merge together, he quickly finds a platform to jump onto while Rose hangs onto dear life inside his jacket pocket, squeaking nervously as she looks at the lava.

Meanwhile, Hedwig lands on a hat rack not far from the platform her companions are on and she is not too happy about the situation at the moment.)

Well, it looks like Hedwig and Rose are not having a good time right now.

I can't blame them. Hot or not, seeing lava from this close is definitely not my favorite past time either.

[Mamoru looks around, wondering what could be done with this situation.]

If this is a spell, we need to find the source.

Same here, Mamoru. I don’t like the idea of staring at the lava so close to my face for that long. The source of the lava has to be in here somewhere. Now I am starting to wonder about how to get across the room without accidentally falling onto the lava.

(Hedwig sends out another flustered noises as her wings flap furiously. The young man looks around for any sign of what caused the lava to appear in the first place. He could teleport from platform to platform to find it, but he knows that doing so recklessly would waste up a lot of energy on his part.)

Maybe we should investigate this room to see if we can find it.

[Mamoru had no such luck. He didn't have kinetic magic or he wouldn't be so worried about "survival". Whatever it meant in this situation.]

Yeah... I can check from this side, you take that one. Look for anything that seems suspicious.

Got it. Now let’s get going to find the lava source.

(The first place for Harry to check out is right near a four poster bed where he had first seen it growing beforehand while he was bringing in the boxes before the lava started to show up. He quickly teleports onto the bed to check for anything that might be connected to the lava.

He levitates some stuff to check for anything strange: he first lifts up a music box, a trash can, and a vase from the lava pool to begin the search.)

Hmm… So far, these things don’t look strange right now. I can’t imagine someone making a prank using a music box to bring in the lava.

[ Minako is more than happy to leave all of the garden stuff up to Mamoru - if not mostly since she has so little idea about what to do with most of it, and he seems to enjoy the work there just fine, along with actually having a clue about what he's doing.

But at least she's nice enough to not leave him totally ignored while he's working.

Which means Minako is coming outside with a cup of hot chocolate for him. The weather is getting chillier, after all, that's the perfect time for this sort of thing! She'll put it down in a spot where it's visible, but safe from getting any ground accidentally thrown into it. ]

I'd swear you've already been at this for so long.. Is there really that much to do?

[Mamoru smiles at Minako. The hot chocolate would feel nice, once he found a moment to drink it.]

There is quite bit... especially when the weather is getting cold. This garden was made by me and Makoto, after all. With the two of us everything went faster.

[He sets down his tools before taking the cup of hot chocolate.]

But that's why I offered for people to come help me out to improve their green magic.

[ Green magic, huh.. That's definitely not a type of magic that Minako has - thought she feels like it's for the better. Something about her feels like she might somehow manage to make plants die even if she had the magic to instead make them thrive...

So rather than lingering on the thought of how she can't help much, she instead glances around at the garden while he's drinking the hot chocolate. ]

Did some people stop by yet?

A few have. And I'm sure there will be more... but I don't mind the work too much. It's not like I have much else to do.

[He's a freeloader before he starts school in the spring. He didn't feel like starting mid-way through autumn, after all.]

If you want to help though, some of the herbs need to be picked up so we can use them for food. I was planning on doing that next and calling it a day... but it would go faster with help.

[ Technically. Gardening isn't exactly something Minako would put very high on the list of things she wants to do, but on the other hand, it's not like she'd ever turn down the request of a friend in need.

.. even when it's about something she isn't exactly excited for. ]

But are you sure you want me to help? I've got to be the most-- [ She shakes her head. ] The second most klutzy person you know!

[ No one can win from Usagi in that department. ]

[Jean had recently moved into the house with Mamoru and his friends. She'd been living by her for so long, she'd been happy to move in with them when the offer had come up.

Although now it meant shopping for multiple people when she was out. Not a horrible thing, but a change.

She squints at the list for a moment.]

Mamoru. Can you tell me what a couple of these ingredients are? A few names I don't recognize.

[Mamoru is glad to have company for grocery shopping. He does usually go with Usagi when he can, but both her and Minako had a job so he did some of the trips on his own...]

I'm sorry, I haven't seen these before...

Oh. Of course... the girls tend to write items on the list in japanese.

[And some ingredients are kind of specific, too.]

Those, for example, are seaweed sheets used for stuff like rice balls and sushi that are traditional japanese dishes. They're usually dry foods....

Oh, I think I've heard of something similar from Inazuma. I haven't used it before myself though.

[She thinks a moment, then points at something.]

[Mamoru follows where she's pointing and smiles.]

Yes. There are different sizes, so we should pick the medium ones if they're on stock. I can also show you how to use them if you'd like.

I would appreciate that. I'd to learn how to cook more than just the things I've learned at home.

[She can make a mean pizza, but that's not the only thing she wants to know.]

Learning new kinds of dishes is a fun way to pass time and make give yourself a little of variety on what you eat. And there are plenty of different japanese dishes we can introduce you to.

[She smiles.]

That sounds wonderful. I can teach you a few from Mondstadt in return, if you'd like.

[She grabs something else off the shelf to look at it.]
