[Closed] I can see my life passing me by
🧙 WHO: Amy Rose and Shadow the Hedgehog
⚔️️ WHAT: Amy may have been pushing herself a bit too hard. But she's totally not sick though, of course not.
🕒 WHEN: Mid-November
🗺️ WHERE: Starts on the training grounds
⚠️ WARNINGS: Rampant magic and sickness. May update if more things happen
[ Knuckles would probably get on her case if he knew just how much Amy has been up to lately, but she reassured herself with the fact that he isn't here at the moment. Sure she'd taken on some quests, and she was volunteering at clinics to help with the rise of people infected with the magical flu, not to mention continued efforts to help the Celliwig and Lestari refugees in Camelot, all in addition to her school lessons, training, and her job at the Helleste Café. But balancing all that certainly isn't any more work than trying to organize a whole Restoration movement during a worldwide emergency, right?
And okay, maybe she could have used a bit more sleep, but she's done a lot worse, she reminds herself as she makes her way to the training grounds to meet with Shadow. And sure, her head is a little foggy, and she feels a little chilled, but that's just the change in the weather.
She's totally fine, really. ]

... Are you alright, Amy?
[If it's just a sneeze then he'll be fine with training her, but if not...]
no subject
[ The mumbled words are punctuated with a hitch of her breath, and a few sharp inhales before another sneeze is torn from her, sending along with it a little shadow that moves along the ground towards one of the training ground attendants who is carrying some extra equipment. The shadow then disappears into the attendant's shadow just moments before the attendant trips, sending all equipment scattering to the ground.
...coincidence? Or unintentional jinx? ]
no subject
Did Amy ever tell him her magics? He can't rightly recall, or he never felt the need to remember, but this is certainly not a good thing. That and he has more than a hunch that the other hedgehog is sick.]
I'm not training you while you're like this.
[His tone is final, he won't take any complaints or pleading as ways to change his mind.]
no subject
It's not that bad.
[ Because she wouldn't be Amy if she wasn't at least a little stubborn. But the argument is made half-heartedly at best, as the fogginess in her head grows a little worse. It only clears as she sneezes again, causing it to throb sharply instead.
And as she sneezes, another shadow dashes out of her, traveling along the ground towards two other attendants. It fades into one of them, and suddenly they are declaring their unwavering, undying love for the other attendant, much to their surprise.
...okay, so it's not great. ]
no subject
So Shadow is crossing his arms over his chest and giving Amy a look.]
You have that, whatever it is, that's going around. So we are not training.
no subject
[ She's stubborn, but she's not dumb. Trying to argue with Shadow is a hopeless effort anyway, so she might as well save whatever strength she still has.
She sneezes again, and while luckily no magic shoots out of her, the force of it does cause her to stumble back a little, and instead of trying to keep standing she lets herself heavily sit on the ground, rubbing her eyes slightly as she sniffles. ]
no subject
He's going to ignore any fussing Amy might do as well.]
Back to your room now. You're going to rest, even if I have to make you.
no subject
W-Wait, Shadow...If I'm sick, I might enchant you accidentally...
[ If she has accept that she probably has the magical flu going around, then she also has to worry about that possibility. ]
no subject
[Shadow isn't too concerned about getting cursed or whatever might happen with Amy, because right now he is more focused on the whole "sick person, make them better" thing instead.
So he's going to start heading towards the exit of the training grounds and then eventually towards where ever Amy is staying, which...]
You are still staying at the Inn, correct?
[He doesn't exactly know.]
no subject
[ Part of her wants to protest further, but...it's really difficult with how warm Shadow is. Even just being carried in his arms like this helps ease some of the aches, and she can't help settling more into his hold. ]
...so warm.
no subject
He'll be quiet, unless Amy decides to say something, the whole way there.]
no subject
no subject
So instead of that having to happen, he's just going to head for the room, and once there well... He is going to have to put Amy down so with a slight jostle of her, in case she has dozed off completely, to warn her of him putting her on her feet.]
We're here, Amy.
no subject
Clearing her throat, she manages to stand on her own two feet and opens her door. ]
Heh...uh, thanks, Shadow.
[ She still seems a bit wobbly, but she should manage just fine. ]
no subject
Do you need anything?
[Like soup or blankets, or anything he can go and be Shadow at to make things better for her?]
no subject
Not that she could really tell him that, because she isn't sure if he'd be willing to stay just to keep her company. ]
Um...some soup would be great, thanks. I think I have some leftover, if you wouldn't mind heat it up?
no subject
[He wouldn't have offered to get her things if he did mind, after all. He's not the type to do something he doesn't want to do after all. As he's going to let Amy get inside the room and situated, he'll go about finding that soup and whatever he needs to heat it up too.
Which is something he can do, heating up soup should be easy.]
no subject
[ With a tired smile, she manages to shuffle over to her bed and flops down on it. She can't change into her pajamas while he's here, but she manages to pull off her boots before huddling under the blankets. ]
no subject
[That's all he says as he gets to getting to, that is soup and heating it up. And he really wouldn't mind if she got changed, not like he's looking or anything like that. But hey as long as Amy gets comfortable and rests? He won't fuss... Too much.]
no subject
...her head is really foggy, she definitely needs some sleep. ]
no subject
While the soup is heating up he's going to find a spoon so that it's just one easy trip from the microwave to Amy's bed so less fussing about all around. And once the microwave gives off its signature ding he's right there getting the hot bowl out and carefully bringing it over to her.]
Careful, it's hot.
no subject
Thanks, Shadow.
no subject
It's nothing.
[Now he's just going to stand there and stare at Amy, he's not going to leave until he sees her eat it seems.]
no subject
She does notice him just standing there, but she bites back a smile as she blows a bit on the soup to cool it down, before carefully sipping at a spoonful, sighing as the warmth travels down her throat and through her body. ]
no subject
I doubt you'll need anything else, but you know how to contact me if you need to.
no subject
Oh...yeah, okay. Thanks, Shadow.
[ And it's strange, because she feels a little conflicted. Because a part of her doesn't actually want him to leave yet, but she doesn't have any reason to ask him to stay either. Besides the longer he stays the more at risk he might be for getting an accidental curse, so it'd be safer for him to go.
But...being sick in her apartment with nothing to do...it felt a bit lonely suddenly. ]
no subject
[Is all he has to say about her thanks, as he takes his leave. Although he isn't exactly rushing out the door, so if Amy really wants him to stay she's got at least one more chance for asking him to do so.]
no subject
...Shadow?
no subject
Yes?
no subject
I-I, um... [ Quick, think of something! ] S-Sorry, uh...Would you mind getting me some water too?
[ ...smooth. ]
no subject
[And as he says it he's turning away from the door and going to do just that, which means he's got to find a cup first and that may take a bit because he doesn't exactly know where Amy keeps things like that and he's not thinking of even asking. But hey, after some poking about he finds a cup and is getting the water, which once he's filled the cup to a reasonable amount of fullness? He's going to bring over to Amy.]
Here you go.
no subject
Thank you.
no subject
In fact Maria is probably the only person who has had Shadow semi-fuss over them.Anyway, once Amy takes the glass he'll just shrug off her thanks.]
You're welcome, anything else?
no subject
Ah...no, I think I'm good now. Thanks.
[ Even if she might be a bit lonely, she can't expect him to stick around just to keep her company. Besides, it's just a little bug. It's not so big a deal that he needs to stay with her. ]
no subject
[Since she seems to be taken care of for the time being, he is just going to go and leave once more. He's not rushing, again, so if Amy still needs him she has another chance, but if not he'll be taking his leave.]
no subject
Her head is still a bit too foggy, though, so instead she finishes her soup and grabs something to read until she probably falls asleep. No use worrying about it for now.
And besides, if she did need anything else, he probably wouldn't mind if she called him. ]
