Alms For The Gore

[ At the edge of town, a heroic cry goes out! A battle of a lifetime is about to ensue! What ever could be going on? Do you dare venture forth to see it?]

All right, you zombified zealot! Prepare to be exorcised before you can say “Necronomicon”!

[ Della has chosen to face off against the Fear Gorta! She has her dukes up, ready to do battle with this thing that… just kinda groans… and can barely hold up the bowl it has. Yeaaaah.

Della’s enthusiasm is starting to wane. She glances around, slowing down her shaking fists and clicking her tongue. She was kind of… hoping for more than this? ]

… Uh… you gotta any… ear-shattering shrieks you’d like to make, or… I dunno, wanna just glare at me? A little?

[ grooooaaaaan. ]

… Okay, I’m starting to feel bad. Is anyone else starting to feel bad?

[ She starts looking around for support. Stop her or help her? ]

Obsession

[ All right, now this is more her speed! She slaps on some gloves, and with her partner – who may be here at the White Cliffs voluntarily, or she may have dragged you along despite your vocal and violent protests – goes over her supplies. It’s time to go on the hunt, but let’s make sure we’re prepared before we officially set out to the glen! ]

All right! I’ve got a potion for Bitten Dust, that’ll knock him unconscious for a good half hour… I’ve got summons for random bees, summons from a tentacle to appear out of a void, a Soul Catcher if we wanna use our familiars that way, and a Lucky Coin, ‘cause you can’t go wrong with a little extra luck! I’m feeling good about this!

The Floor Is Lava

Man, can I learn this spell when this is all said and done? This is SO MUCH FUN!

[ Is this what the hip young people of today call Parkour? Della laughs merrily as she goes from one space to another, even trying to land on one foot or one hand! She does lose her balance a few times before managing to JUST get it back, yet continues laughing all the while. What a great day! ]

Close enough to blow into its face...

[ And the only way she can do that without actually going to face? ]

Give me a piggy-back ride, pronto!

[ Honestly, that does seem to be the easiest way to get her closer. Plus being able to stay between her and the Gancanagh does give her some protection.

So with a nod, he scoops her up and places her on his back before charging towards the Gancanagh again. ]

[ She has one arm to hang onto him, the other on her Bitten Dust! Her thumb lays between the cork and the bottle, as she tries to aim it just right... ]

All right, almost... three... two... one!

[ JUST as the tentacle dissolves, Della uncorks the bottle and CHUCKS it right at the Gancanagh! ]

As the kids say, EAT MY DUST!

[doctorintern]

[ He gets close enough for her to throw the bottle, and once it hits and the dust starts to spread he speeds backwards to avoid breathing in any of the dust cloud. ]

[ And the monster is DOWN for the count! It staggers and then falls backwards, out like a light. The tentacle also vanishes, returning to the void it came from, with the void itself disappearing.

Della hoots, and backward-flips off of Fenton, pumping her fists when she lands! ]

We did it! Yes! Go team!

[doctorintern]

[ Fenton himself breathes a sigh of relief before giving Della a thumbs-up. ]

Great job!

[ Now comes the fun part of extracting the toxins from its skin. Luckily the Gizmosuit should keep him safe. ] Do you have the vial?

Hang on...

[ She digs through her bag, dumping all the aforementioned very weird nonsense she's collected during her stay in Avalon on the ground... and then ta-da! ]

Got it! We should have plenty of time to get the toxins!

[doctorintern]

[ He nods, though decides it'll be best to do this as quick as possible anyway. ]

All right. [ He holds his hand out for the vial. ] I can go ahead and gather the toxins, since the suit should be enough protection against its effects.

[sos_pilot]

[ Vial get! ]

And I'll... um... cheer you on! Yeah!

GO GIZMODUCK! YOU'RE THE MAN! AND WAY BETTER THAN DARKWING!

[ she means it. ]

[doctorintern]

[ He's reaching down to gather some of the toxins when she starts yelling, startling him a bit and causing him to fumble with the vial. He manages to catch it, breathes a sigh, and glances back at Della. ]

Heh...uh...thanks? I don't know if I'd say that exactly though. We're just, uh...different heroes.

[sos_pilot]

Yes, and the difference is, you're way better. And not a total egomaniac.

[doctorintern]

[ He chuckles weakly, turning back to the task of extracting some of the Gancanagh's toxins. ]

He's a good hero! And he's very...confident in his abilities.

[sos_pilot]

Too confident, if you ask me. Besides, without this place, he doesn't even have powers! At least you have the suit!

[doctorintern]

[ He frowns a little, sticking the cork cap back on the vial. ]

Honestly? I think that's why he's an amazing hero. Doing what we do without any powers or enhancements? Difficult might be an understatement.

[ Rising back to his full height, he turns back to Della. ] I never would have even gotten involved in all this if it wasn't for the suit. But DW jumps into danger armed with just his own physical and mental abilities, without a second thought.

[ He gives her a small smile, as he hands her the vial back. ] Kind of like someone else I know.

[sos_pilot]

[ Della takes the vial and places it in her bag... with some huffing and puffing. How dare he flip this on her and give her a compliment!!! ]

... Yeah... well... at least I don't constantly tell people how cool and awesome I am -

[ Okay no. Even she knows she kinda. Does that. All the time. Despite her self-loathing issues, she still brags pretty easily about herself. ]

... Uuuugh. Okay, fine, I have more in common with Darkwing than I'd like to believe... and maybe that's why I don't like him as much... but don't you go telling him that.

[doctorintern]

[ He bites back a chuckle. ] I won't. But for what it's worth, I do think you're both pretty awesome.

[ Glancing back towards the creature, he then holds out a hand to Della. ]

Anyway, we should probably get out of here before he wakes up.

[ And if Della wants to climb on for a quick ride out, he wouldn't say no. ]

[ Good, because she's not even going to ask - she's already climbing back on. ]

All right, valiant steed, let's go collect our reward!

[doctorintern]

[ He stays still while she climbs on, and is glad for the visor that hides his eye roll at her declaration.

But he complies, pushing the suit as fast as it could go to get them out of there and back towards town. ]
