A: Magical Flu

[Jean has unfortunately caught the magical flu that's going around. The good thing here is that he's both an animal mage and a healer so his magic doesn't set of catastrophes. Mostly it makes him grow a set of ears, a tail or even wings whenever he sneezes. One time he sneezed multiple times in a row and was a winged leopard for a moment.

He's avoiding people as much as possible, but there are still errands he wants to do and thus isn't staying indoors resting. Then again, his wayward healing magic is keeping most of his other symptons away.

He is wearing a mask though. Just in case.]


B: Quest - AlmS FOR THE GORE

[The quest of slaying zombie-like fairies was something he signed up for, but as always with fae and fairies, he wasn't just outright going to do so without checking what was going on first. He wasnt stupid enough to upset a fae just for a quest.

When he sees one of the fear gorta, he's glad he doesn't really have a sense of smell right now (flu, you are good for something after all!!) from what he's heard about them.]

A bowl...?

[He checks his pockets for some nutrition bars he's taken a habit of carrying with him. He makes sure to take all the packaking away from the bar before approaching the fae and placing the bar in bite-size pieces onto the bowl.]

C: Quest - FLAPPY VEG

... you know, I never thought I'd see a flying lettuce.

[Jean opens a conversation randomly with someone who is also on guard duty for the flying veggies.]

A friend back home would probably be morally conflicted about whether or not she should hunt them or not. She's obsessed with food, so she'd want to taste one.

[The tone of his voice is rather fond over the person in question.]

Dragon Quest / Closed for Mikasa and Mukuro

[Jean had wanted a rematch with the dragon after they failed to kill it before. Losing Celliwig and so many lives... it left a bad taste in his mouth. So he's glad both Mikasa and Mukuro agreed to come with him to hunt it down.

Not that he was that confident he'd be much help with the dragon, but he trusted he'd be able to help at least somehow. Mikasa and Mukuro were both brilliant in combat and he had some sort of tactical mind, after all.

Well, first they'd need to find it of course.]

Which way do we check first?

Can't be too hard to track a dragon down. It has to have left a trail.

[She was sure Darin would be unhappy with her going after the dragon like this- but negotiation had never been her strong suit. Besides, he was a good, soft-hearted person. She could do the dirty work so he wouldn't have to.

At least she had people she trusted on her side for this mission. Between the three of them, she thought they stood a good chance of taking it down.]

...But I think we'll need to ambush it when we track it down. A head-on attack against a dragon won't work.

[Mikasa would gladly take that dragon down anytime and no one else would have to worry about killing it.

She is not so sure about a trail. It's possible, likely even, but if it just flies away somewhere to wait for the knights of Camelot or any other people to find it...]

Unless it is trying to ambush us first.

[Yes, thank you, Mikasa, that'd be so nice. But sounds pretty likely or obvious too, so she won't even be surprised if that happens.]

If I was trying to hide from people, who want to kill me? I'd possibly be somewhere in Ash Mountains for a lot of space for hiding... Or in The "Brave of Soul" cave, where its dark and it gets to hear anyone approaching, while they face their fears before they even find it.

[...Her childhood with living in the mountains and staying away from people, who hated Asians and Ackermans may have something to do with at least a part of that answer.

She shrugs. She is not the tactician of any group, back in Titan Hell she is the action girl/ gloomy brat/ merciless killing machine after others do all the planning / tactic work.]

Or it could be anywhere else too.

[Jean listens to them both as he checks the map and instructions again. Both of them have a fair point and Jean just wants to double check the location since the bravery cave makes a lot of sense.

Even if he hates that place.]

According to rumors, it's up on Ash Mountains... if not I'd also be willing to bet the cave of bravery is the next option.

[Instead now it's now one of the various mineshafts. He really hopes those are sturdy enough for battle and won't collapse on everyone.]

We can use both animal and blood magic once we get close to these mineshafts to see which way to go. At least get a little clue about it.

[Mukuro gave a quick nod in response to their comments. Ash Mountains, or the Cave of Bravery. Both reasonable options.]

Right. Only thing we can do is get closer until we start seeing traces- or sensing signs, like you said.

[She started to creep closer, sharp eyes scanning the landscape for any other signs.]

...We should move quickly.

[ The zombie seems to be fine, but Taichi's a horror movie chicken and he's seen the actual zombies in the Land of Rot and naturally, terrified brain results in him running and leaping at Jean. Hopefully into his arms, but if not, he'll tackle him to the ground. ]

WATCH OUT, THERE'S A ZOMBIE!! IT'S COMING! AHHHH!

[ This would definitely not be helpful if it were an actual zombie. Sorry Jean. ]

[Jean is luckily trained pretty well for the unexpected so he manages to catch Taichi when he jumps into his arms - mostly without thinking about it.]

... I hate to break it to you, but if that was a real zombie, you'd have gotten us both killed instead of doing anything useful.

It is a real zombie! it's a zombie of life!

[ Not alive, of life. Who even knows what that means..?? Taiichi is content to... try to wriggle his way to ride piggy back, but somehow from... where he is... in Jean's arms... ]

[Jean lets out a long sigh.]

It's not doing anything bad. Look... it has a bowl in its hands. Maybe you should try putting something there too and it will leave?

[Come on Taichi. Give the zombie something.]

[ He relaxes in Jean's muscular arms just a little as he turns to look at the fear gorta, still shaking like a leaf and weary but not squeezing the circulation out of Jean. ]

If I get eaten, I'm haunting you forever..!

[ He takes a deep breath, and reaches into his pocket to take out a beef jerky stick he was saving for later and puts it into the fear gorta's basket...!! ]

[Taichi would live another day. The fear gorta seems satisfied and starts heading into another direction with its basket of goodies. Likely to eat then in peace.]

See, you're safe. The whole quest about these guys was wrong somehow.

[ Wait. If that's the case... ]

Then.. maybe.. there's some way we can change the board! We can't let people think these things are dangerous and hurt them just because they look scary!

[ ... okay, the flying lettuce is definitely very weird and surreal. As someone who likes salad very much? This is. . . a little disturbing. ]

This is weird, but... I mean, we eat meat, and those are like these flying lettuce before they're hunted.

Either way, I hope we'll be able to work together and be successful in protecting these cute creatures.

Jean adjusts the sword he has on its hilt, making sure it's fine before looking at Weiss.]

I usually work well with others. I guess we'll just have to find out how well we work.

Look sharp. [ There doesn't seem to be any poachers nearby, but there's some rustling in the leaves... Who knows what could be coming? ] We'll just have to test it out for ourselves.

[Jean keeps a lookaround in a different direction from Weiss, just so they can see more.]

I could also turn into a small animal and go scouting... and hope they're only interesting in poaching lettuces.

Something stealthy, then, or something that can fly.

[ She thinks that that might be easier! ]

Hmm... I suppose a robin would be stealthy and able to fly.

[Considering how small they are.]

You'll be able to transform back easily, right? I don't have to bail you out if you get in trouble as a bird, do I?

[ The whole transforming into an animal thing is still so weird. ]

I'm full of energy so I won't have any problems... and the smaller the animal the less energy I use.

[Now if he tried to transform into a giraffe or an elephant, they might have a problem.]

Alright. I'll stay close to the lettuce, then.

[ Look at them! Splitting up duties like a good team. ]

[It helps when they both know a little something about working in teams.

Jean transforms into a small robin and flies off to scout the area, dodging some of the lettuce that come across him.]

[ Weiss is tense, if only because she does hasn't done anything like this in some time. Living a more quiet life, she might actually be a little rusty in battle! She still does her training, of course, but she hasn't applied her skills in an actual fight in some time.

Though... she might actually be disappointed if Jean comes back to find that there aren't any poachers nearby. She wants to test her skills!

Fortunately for them, the rustling just so happens to be poachers. Not subtle at all, when they reveal their positions. The two? They're outnumbered... ]
