[Open] When You Do Nice Things
🧙 WHO: Naomi Kimishima and You
⚔️️ WHAT: Helping clear up the Forest of the Felled and curing people... as usual. Catch-all for November
🕒 WHEN: All throughout November until Event
🗺️ WHERE: Forest of the Felled and Camelot
⚠️ WARNINGS: In the Forest of the Felled, but insomniac healer. However, may be warnings depending on thread directions so will update as they come.
[As the forest was, there shouldn't be any issues clearing it out, but someone apparently ticked the Naiads off and now, there was a basilisk. At least it wasn't like the serpent she'd always heard about, but having some allies paralyzed would not do.]
[Still, a flower that hadn't been seen for years being the cure? And not to mention, these traps...]
Why did they set this one up?
[Hadn't the main issue with the Forest been spirits? None of these would hold the creatures that had become a problem. Whoever had set off this net she was stuck in at the moment was getting a look from her direction. She should've stayed at the hospital...]
[When she first saw the creature upon the chest of another sleeping nearby, she wasn't sure what she was seeing. However, the conscious effort of their apparent attack on the person does process - enough that she'll borrow a companion's weapon (whatever it may be) and attack it, knocking it off without much hesitation.]
[But whatever it was doing had already started. As she's not a cognitive mage, she cannot do anything, but she could confront the demon.]
Try to wake them. I'll hold it off.
[Another month, a coming season, and it was about that time a yearly disease should come around. It really was thanks to her world that Naomi didn't catch many common maladies, but this Magical Flu had other problematic factors that weren't from catching it.]
[At a knock, she looked over at the door.]
Enter slowly... but if you're about to sneeze, do so before you enter.
[And let's not destroy her office space on accident with some leaking magic.]
[OOC: Any prompts you're interested in threading with Naomi that aren't here? Hit me up at
demidemonLove. She's not an active quest taker since she has a job, but she can be dragged into them like the quest with the fear gorta, butterflying lettuce, and even the gancanagh (she's an adult, it's all good).]

I. A Cure on Cloud Nine
[As the forest was, there shouldn't be any issues clearing it out, but someone apparently ticked the Naiads off and now, there was a basilisk. At least it wasn't like the serpent she'd always heard about, but having some allies paralyzed would not do.]

II. Paralysis, Paralysis, and Paralysis Again

III. General Clinic (but it's Magical Flu Season)
[Another month, a coming season, and it was about that time a yearly disease should come around. It really was thanks to her world that Naomi didn't catch many common maladies, but this Magical Flu had other problematic factors that weren't from catching it.]

IV. Wildcard

We'll get that refilled so you have more later. Rest a little longer for now.

I was trying to get things done. With all the refugees here, and this whole calamity thing, sitting around resting isn't something I have time for.
[Of course, he didn't have his Galra endurance, either, but that was something he wasn't ready to deal with in addition to trying to work himself through his frustration about having lost two friends, recently.]

[She doesn't know if he was anything before, but people made habit of pushing their limitations that didn't exist prior. And aside from that, Keith was a workaholic too.]

He huffed slightly, but the 'only human' comment seemed to hit home. She'd unknowingly slammed the nail on the head with a 30 pound sledgehammer. He grumbled, but reluctantly gave in.]
Yeah. Fine. [He glared at the glass in his hands, which were still a little shaky, but that would take a bit to settle. He looked like he was angry at it for betraying him. He managed to take another sip, finishing the last of it in that pull.]
no subject
... Have you had anything to eat today?
no subject
I don't remember.
[So, uh... no... probably not. He was too intent on giving a random floor tile in the far corner a surly glare to meet Naomi's gaze.]
no subject
[Since he probably hasn't eaten all day.]
Until then, continue resting.

He was definitely still tired, but he was purposefully staying awake. He hated this lack of control. So, he was focusing on just drinking that water for now. He'd finished the water by the time she got back, and his hands had stopped trembling, at least.]
no subject
[Just as long as he was okay with chicken noodle.]
no subject
He was still tired, though, but with warm food in him and having hydrated a bit more, it was catching up to him.]
Sorry. [He mumbled it, looking like he regretted his actions, definitely. It had been a while since he'd gotten himself this strung out, and he knew he was acting pretty mean in his state. It wasn't anyone's fault but his own. He was self-aware enough to realize that.]
no subject
[When he speaks, she stops.]
... I'm not going to say it's alright because it isn't. Still, what I should say is likely what you've heard plenty of time before. So instead, what happened that you decide to do this?
no subject
I lost a couple people back into the messed up time stream.
[He didn't handle loss well...]
no subject
[No, that made sense to her. Not that she had significant bonds like that, but she could still understand other people who would. That, and he was someone that gave off an air of those relationships being significant.]
... try not to lose focus. Now that they've returned, you're the one protecting them from danger.
[If what they'd been told was the truth...]

Such is the body's limitation. With everything going on, would your normal body really be able to handle your pushing under all of your current stress?
no subject
I don't know. But I definitely know I could have pushed further back home than I have here.
[Everything he went through during the animal mage hunts had showed him that. He'd faced a lot when fighting back home, the Blade Trials specifically, and that had been way more than the groups he'd faced here during that time.
Still, he knew that he would have eventually worn down anyway. He was just pretty certain it wouldn't have happened as quickly.]
no subject
[But, she's going to leave it at that.]
I'll release you tomorrow, but I want you to rest here tonight.
no subject
Yeah, fine. [He pinched the bridge of his nose for a second, and then flopped back against the pillows.]
no subject
Good. Now, rest up. I'll come back to evaluate you again to determine if you can be discharged early in the morning or not.
