[Open] When You Do Nice Things
🧙 WHO: Naomi Kimishima and You
⚔️️ WHAT: Helping clear up the Forest of the Felled and curing people... as usual. Catch-all for November
đź•’ WHEN: All throughout November until Event
🗺️ WHERE: Forest of the Felled and Camelot
⚠️ WARNINGS: In the Forest of the Felled, but insomniac healer. However, may be warnings depending on thread directions so will update as they come.
[As the forest was, there shouldn't be any issues clearing it out, but someone apparently ticked the Naiads off and now, there was a basilisk. At least it wasn't like the serpent she'd always heard about, but having some allies paralyzed would not do.]
[Still, a flower that hadn't been seen for years being the cure? And not to mention, these traps...]
Why did they set this one up?
[Hadn't the main issue with the Forest been spirits? None of these would hold the creatures that had become a problem. Whoever had set off this net she was stuck in at the moment was getting a look from her direction. She should've stayed at the hospital...]
[When she first saw the creature upon the chest of another sleeping nearby, she wasn't sure what she was seeing. However, the conscious effort of their apparent attack on the person does process - enough that she'll borrow a companion's weapon (whatever it may be) and attack it, knocking it off without much hesitation.]
[But whatever it was doing had already started. As she's not a cognitive mage, she cannot do anything, but she could confront the demon.]
Try to wake them. I'll hold it off.
[Another month, a coming season, and it was about that time a yearly disease should come around. It really was thanks to her world that Naomi didn't catch many common maladies, but this Magical Flu had other problematic factors that weren't from catching it.]
[At a knock, she looked over at the door.]
Enter slowly... but if you're about to sneeze, do so before you enter.
[And let's not destroy her office space on accident with some leaking magic.]
[OOC: Any prompts you're interested in threading with Naomi that aren't here? Hit me up at
demidemonLove. She's not an active quest taker since she has a job, but she can be dragged into them like the quest with the fear gorta, butterflying lettuce, and even the gancanagh (she's an adult, it's all good).]

I. A Cure on Cloud Nine

II. Paralysis, Paralysis, and Paralysis Again

III. General Clinic (but it's Magical Flu Season)
[Another month, a coming season, and it was about that time a yearly disease should come around. It really was thanks to her world that Naomi didn't catch many common maladies, but this Magical Flu had other problematic factors that weren't from catching it.]
[At a knock, she looked over at the door.]

IV. Wildcard

(Which is in good timing because the urge to sneeze soon overcomes him that he immediately faces the wall Dr. Kimishima had informed him of and sneezes at it, sending an ice patch on said wall. At least he didn’t accidentally send a random item flying towards the wall.)
Phew! That was a close one. I’ve been accidentally setting stuff on fire and having things fly out of control for days.
no subject
Sounds right considering your Elemental Magic. Well, you will not have to worry about it for much longer.
no subject
(It feels so weird that he almost lost control of elemental magic ever since learning to control his emotions to properly engage it at will a few months back. But sometimes life can be a pain at times, so he is very happy to be given some help and find an actual doctor with healing magic who’s willing to help him out.)
Okay, so are we going to start the whole appointment?
no subject
[But if it can happen with a flu, she's concerned what other sicknesses might be around in this world they'll have to content with later. And they might not be able to be treated with healing magic so quickly. She raises an eyebrow.]
The appointment's already begun. Do you have any other concerns or symptoms you wanted to see me about besides the flu?
no subject
Okay, let me remember what I have experienced so far: I have experienced headaches and fatigue since having the flu. That’s all I can remember, I don’t have the other symptoms of having a flu at all.
no subject
It's likely you only have a mild case. The flu tends to be worse for young children and older adults due to their immune system. Tell me, in your world, do you have regular inoculations available for seasons like this? And if you do, have you gotten it?
no subject
(Does being a half blood wizard means that he’s technically immune from normal flu season in his world? He’s not sure about that but he will have to remember not to skip it after the appointment.)
no subject
[She doesn't even pause to ask about wizards existing in his world; at this point, best to just roll with things unless it sounds off.]
And because this world stripped you of that immunity, we're back to square one. [And she makes note of wizarding world, raising her other hand towards him where visibly, the tips of her fingers glow a brief, purple-red hue almost like a flame fizzling out. Still, he might feel a warmth spread in his body from it.]
... How's your headache now?
no subject
And what’s more, he is not suffering from anymore headaches nor the sneezes slowly returning.)
Wow! It’s gone. I don’t feel any more headaches.
no subject
It's gone for now, but this is one of those diseases that can be caught again. Until the season passes, or until there's a decent herd immunity, be careful moving around in public spaces.
no subject
(He had already seen the mess that Helleste Cafe has taken from haywired magical effects the sneezes have caused as he hears the doctor’s advice.)
Is there anything else I need to take as well?
no subject
[Managing the guests and spreading it around... well, that would be on his employer.]
No. Vitamins could help with prevention or boosting your immune system, but only so much.
no subject
(And yes, he is totally aware that checking for flu symptoms in the cafe patrons who frequent the place is a difficult task since his employers can’t check every guest that fast enough to see if said guest had the flu or not.)
Oh okay then, I’ll definitely need to remember not to forget the vitamins in addition to trying stay from highly crowded areas. Thank you for the help, Dr. Kimishima.

[The problem with public businesses and contagious illnesses.]
You're welcome. Take care.
[Because he was very much free to leave if he was ready.]
