[Open] Season's Change
🧙 WHO: Zidane Tribal and You
⚔️️ WHAT: Building projects, training, and feeding 'zombie' faes mistakenly, it's a catch-all for November!
🕒 WHEN: All throughout November until Event
🗺️ WHERE: Between Camelot, Red Springs, and the initial township
⚠️ WARNINGS: Warnings will be added if they come up, but no Forest of the Felled warnings apply. For now, in regards to Quest: AlmS FOR THE GORE, emaciation/starvation warning (by their appearance).
[Well, he hadn't actually expected anything to come attached to the title of 'Lord' yet given lots of people had the title before he decided to see about getting it himself. It had perks - a little influence over people and the Traders, that sort of thing - but then the King finally announced the intent to set up townships. Now, they would be mainly for the refugees and dealing with the overcrowding in Camelot.]
[But he was a Noble... so, he would (or could) manage a township? Should he? Well, he did get the title for a reason, but this was... he didn't want to call this practice; he wanted to try for these people.]
[Maybe he shouldn't be thinking about this at the Training Grounds right now though; he'd forgotten about the fact he was working on his floating which left him twirling around in the air with his arms crossed and looking rather contemplative. If he's not careful, said aimless drifting might result in him crossing paths with someone else training.]
[Though still thinking about taking over a township, that wasn't going to stop Zidane from helping set up the first one outside of Camelot. Personally, he thought setting one up near Celliwig Ruins would be better, but the explanation was to establish this one first before traveling that far out. He supposed it also gave time to deal with the Forest of the Felled and other Unseelie still appearing around said Ruins.]
[So, who the hell was the genius that decided to make the floor of the new township lava? He just wanted to have a few words with them.]
[It couldn't be real lava because none of the structures were being affected, but it was still hot as balls and no one wanted to risk touching it. Even he's not feeling up to dipping a foot in to see what happens - he just wanted to get these buildings set up for the people to move in and get themselves settled before winter really settled in the area.]
[So, whoever did this, Zidane would not play by the rules - and anyone who wanted out, he would happily escort out of the township limits until the matter was resolved. Otherwise, some folks helping out might see him drifting around, looking for the candle circles, and wrecking them on sight. Even if he didn't use his magic to maneuver, he was quick crossing the hazards using the abnormal platforms provided that good luck keeping up if attempting to stop him - or call out if you intend to help.]
[Maybe he should've asked what these faeries looked like in detail because calling something a 'zombie' didn't really narrow things down. There was plenty of undead around, and if these faes really were a big issue, they weren't attacking people for food... or to eat them. Was it really a problem?]
[Reading the quest again, he looked up at the sound of groaning and noticed the skin and bones man just barely holding up a bowl.]
Hey, man...
[Damn, he knew things were getting bad, but this guy was thin - like, would taking him to see a doctor help at all or not, thin. He didn't have much on him since he always just got food as he went throughout his day except for maybe dinner, but he could spare placing a roll he'd gotten from the bakery into the bowl.]
It's all I got right now. I'll try to bring back something else. Just hang in there.
[Someone else who picked up the quest and may recognize the fae for what it was. Do they slay the fae as they're supposed to, stop Zidane, or do something else?]
[OOC: As usual, any prompts you're interested in threading with Zidane that aren't here? Hit me up at
demidemonLove. I'm interested in having him help out with the 'Hungry for More' in particular, but Zidane himself didn't want to risk it after someone did 'The Floor is Lava'.]

I. Training Grounds
[Well, he hadn't actually expected anything to come attached to the title of 'Lord' yet given lots of people had the title before he decided to see about getting it himself. It had perks - a little influence over people and the Traders, that sort of thing - but then the King finally announced the intent to set up townships. II. The Floor is Lava
[Though still thinking about taking over a township, that wasn't going to stop Zidane from helping set up the first one outside of Camelot. Personally, he thought setting one up near Celliwig Ruins would be better, but the explanation was to establish this one first before traveling that far out. III. AlmS FOR THE GORE
[Maybe he should've asked what these faeries looked like in detail because calling something a 'zombie' didn't really narrow things down. There was plenty of undead around, and if these faes really were a big issue, they weren't attacking people for food... or to eat them. Was it really a problem?]

It seemed he wasn't the only one with those intentions either. He gives the boy a look over for a moment.]
...Want some help?
[Comes the deep voice of a rather tall and thuggish looking man.]
no subject
Hey, if you don't mind. I don't think I could bring back enough on my own before sundown.
[And he had to check in at the theater tonight.]
no subject
[In fact, given his size, Beowulf could probably carry all of it without much trouble. Despite his looks, he was very much eager and happy to help where he could. It was also probably a good idea to help the fairies in any case.]
So, where we going then?
no subject
[They catch one unaware, they'd have a good amount of meat. Heck, with the guy's size, maybe they could bring back two.]
If we're lucky, maybe we'll come across something bigger.
no subject
[He tilts his head to think about it for a moment. Then grins wide. He has time for that, and shouldn't take too long with any luck. Besides, with winter approaching fresh veal would be difficult to come by.]
Aye, that sounds fine by me. You've supplies for a hunt all set and ready then?
[Beowulf himself had been more set for a fight with undead. Not hunting deer. He obviously isn't opposed to it though. Besides, deer meat would probably make a better offering than bread crumbs.]
no subject
[He hadn't even realized. Someone starving is someone starving honestly. Oh well, he shrugs and nods, grinning.]
I'm always ready to go. And we can always gather up supplies from the forest as long as we don't go too far in. It gets waaaay too dark.
no subject
[Hey, even fairies get hungry! Also they might get something good out of this yet, payment probably wasn't going to be an option. But that was all well and good! So long as nobody tried to actually attack the old beggars.]
That's fine, I'm obviously not outfitted for a long trek anyway.
[A shrug, it was all good in the hood!]

It's also the tail; the tail helped get him with less stable surfaces and clinging onto any poles or ropes. "Only feeling competitive? C'mon, let's go!"
no subject
"Sure. Don't worry, it's not like I exist solely for this sort of thing, after all." With a grin, Dust vaulted off the roof, a whoosh of wind rising to help him bound to the next one over effortlessly.
no subject
But then everyone else he met was then like him too - having Kinetic Magic. Speaking of, with that magic, he'll just use it to speed himself up to platform across the rejoin Dust. "Hey, not bad."

Because he knows how it's been going for people without experience.

Hail, Youth.
[ His hand lowers to his side, reaching into his cloak... and he pulls out a single, red apple, and pressing it into the palm of the fae. ]
They are not vicious creatures, it seems. Only hungry. [ For not mortal flesh. If they were, this would be a different story. ]
no subject
[Watching his place the apple into the fae's palm, at least it now has bread and an apple. Still not much, but it's something.]
Yeah, it is. Foods been getting scarce, hasn't it?
no subject
Pray that the nobility shall open their silos to distribute to the destitute.
no subject
Some of them will, but I'm sure just as many won't. [That's how it tends to be.] ... Well, we'll do our best to manage. Maybe if we can craft a totem to come back to Camelot, we could hunt in the Forest of the Felled too.
no subject
Perhaps. Or, we may ride upon horseback to the Forest.
[ It'd take longer, though, but it's doable. Still, crafting a totem doesn't seem like a bad idea either. Somnus seems open to either idea. ]
no subject
Egh, guess this is a good reason to get better at horseback riding. If we wanna go with the Totem plan, I can make some for Celliwig, but we'll have to find someone that can make the Camelot Totem.

Why is it that you are offering?
[ That is what he wants to know. Why give the creature anything at all? ]
no subject
It's all I have on me.
[What he has between now and lunch - but now he might only worry about getting something between now and dinner.]
no subject
[ He makes a sound. ]
That is not what I am referring to. What I mean to ask is why are you doing this instead of what the quest giver is asking?
no subject
There was a quest posted for them?
[Maybe he saw it, but these guys don’t seem to fit that quest.]
no subject
There had been, yes. Perhaps I was the one mistaken and they meant another creature?
no subject
I mean, I do remember that one quest where there's supposed to be something 'like a zombie', but mistaking a starving person for a zombie would be pretty damn rude. I feel like we would've heard about attacks if we were dealing with zombies.
[Or some similar creature, but what does he know.]
