Open Catch all post Quests: Flappy Veg + Skellén
🧙 WHO: Belgium and Everyone, this isn't closed~
⚔️️ WHAT: Flappy Veg Quest and Skellén Quest
🕒 WHEN: First few weeks of November
🗺️ WHERE: All the places
⚠️ WARNINGS: Fighting an undead skeleton and flying lettuce?
I – Flappy Veg
They were… flying… flying lettuce. The request really wasn’t joking at all! Out of all the strange things she’s seen so far this was yet another one she hadn’t been expecting at all. Like at all, at all. How were they even flying to begin with? You know what, she’s not going to question this, like at all. She can certainly understand the desire to poach them though. With winter coming in and the increase of mouths to feed, of course flying lettuce would garner quite a bit of attention.
Especially if they’re considered a delicacy.
Anyway, she figured this might be one of the easier jobs on the list and was currently standing on guard over the… over the lettuce. Sighs.
At least they’re oddly cute? She thinks as she holds one that flopped a bit too close to her.
II – Skellén
Okay so now for something a bit more serious, taking on an undead skeleton. She was ready, she had her alchemy mixtures on the read and plant magic on standby! Dressed in her military uniform to make herself look more serious and official for this round of action, Belgium took a slight step forward to the room where the skeleton and box in question were.
This is what she gets for complaining about guarding heads of cute, flying lettuce. And telling herself that she needed to get away from her little café more. Sighs.
“Remember, all we need is the box.” Work smart, not hard and all that.
III – Video / un; Chasseur
[From clearing a forest, to guarding flying lettuce, to fighting an undead skeleton. The month had been quite a busy one so far! Now was the time to unwind in her beer café, a pint in one hand as she scrolls through her phone.
There was still one more thing though. One more thing to bring a bit of closure.]
“Here, where the sword united nations drew,
Our countrymen were warring on that day!
And this much — and all — which will not pass away.”
[She thinks for a moment longer, takes a sip, and then...]
…How does one go about catching a dragon, do you suppose?
[WILDCARD]
[ooc: Don't see something you like? That's fine, either let me know or start your own thread and I'll play it by ear.]

[ooc: Don't see something you like? That's fine, either let me know or start your own thread and I'll play it by ear.]
I
No living lettuce will be turning into salad on my watch! After all...
I am the terror that flaps in the night!
I am the thread that comes loose in the clothing of villainy.
I am Darkwing Duck!
no subject
That's right! With the mighty Darkwing Duck here, surely no villain come to bother a single head of lettuce~!
[She's so going to be playing along with this!]
no subject
Thank you, thank you! Of course. No heads will roll while I'm around! ...Unless it's a playful roll that they choose to do themselves. [He smiles as he comes closer and looks at some of the lettuce fluttering nearby.] How have things been so far? Any signs of trouble?
no subject
Nope! It's been pretty quite so far. I think I saw a few refugees eyeing them earlier.
Otherwise no would-be lettuce poachers. How about you?
no subject
I did a sweep of the area, and I've yet to find signs of any suspicious individuals. "Lettuce' hope it stays that way.
no subject
[And flying lettuce are quite a tempting prize! Speaking of she giggles as one flaps close to her and almost runs into her head. She goes ahead and catches it before giving it a toss back into the air.]
This is turning out to be a bit more quite than I was expecting. [She'll give a polite laugh at the... pun. Better than a groan at least! Anyway, just saying things were quiet at the moment was probably going to jinx them.]
no subject
With no sign of any threats, he stretches his arms out as he prepares to relax.]
Yup! A crimefighter has to be ready for anything. And that includes quiet nights! We can just take this easy and ride it out...
[He doesn't get to say any more, because a flashbomb goes off between them. When the light clears, a trio of thieves are seen running off with a net full of lettuce!]
H-hey!!

[A frown and she takes a drink of her beer.]
That still shouldn't stop anyone from going after it again. Preferably capture, but slaying it if it comes to it may also be called for.

[There's another sip in thought.]
And I think doing this might help bring that final bit of closure to everyone.

You know?

Yes, you may be right... I'm afraid the longer I've stayed here, the more negative I've become.

II.
When he comes to the room with the skeleton, he notices a familiar blonde.]
Oh, you're doing this too? Two heads are better than one, so this will be easy! Do you already have a strategy?
[ In a situation like this, Crow thinks one of them can act as a decoy while the other retrieves the box.]
no subject
Ah--? Oh hey! [A strategy though? She nods her head a bit.]
I was going to use my plant magic-thing to try and hold him for a moment, then drop some smoke to get away.
[Then again... the skeleton doesn't really have eyes. Because, you know, skeleton. So would smoke even hinder it at all?]
no subject
[He's only seen green magic be used to bring out the flavors in chili, so he doesn't have much knowledge on anyone using that discipline combatively. Though it's amazing if Belgium could control her magic in order to bind creatures.]
That could work, but we don't know how strong the thing is. So I can offer reinforcement by holding down his shadow with my dark magic. Everything else, I guess we can figure out when we confront it.
[Crow's not so much for planning, he's usually "an attack first and have questions later" type of guy. The faster they can retrieve the box, the better off they'll both be.]
Are you ready to break some bones?
no subject
[If she says so herself! He should see the vine traps and golems she made last time! Granted she mostly uses it for brewing or helping at her café.]
Mm, I think that sounds like a great plan.
[And then some. Having the help for this will really prove to be quite a boon!]
Anyway, let's get started.
no subject
[After the whole doppelganger and an overgrown plant fiasco not too long ago, Crow has learned not to underestimate the strength of a weed. He'd like to see Belgium use her magic in action, and now the time has arrived.
Once they're both ready, Crow forces the door open and walks into the crypt of the living skeleton. The room is dark except for a light from the surface shining down to the very position the box is. Though Crow doesn't see any skeleton around.]
Helloooo! Is anyone home?!
[This obviously seems like a trap.]
no subject
Silly, it's a skeleton. I don't think it can hear. Then again... it shouldn't be able to see either.
[In fact, how does a walking skeleton even move? Hm... she'll go ahead and will nearby roots and vines to move ahead of them as they entered the dark room. Groping about and acting like an early alarm.]

i forgot about the seal thing if you want we can just handwave it and say big bad pops out now~!
Oops me too! Let's go with your idea!
II - Skellen
This was not Hanabi's first time dealing with the undead, and it probably wouldn't be the last. She'd fought the headless horseman before to protect grieving people as they buried their dead. While her blood magic was mostly useless against the undead, her elemental magic proved to be useful.
"I could use some wind magic to blow the skeleton to one side of the room," she suggested. It would create an opening to run to retrieve the box.
no subject
She thinks the plan of action over a little. "So how about I hold it off then while you grab the box."
[No worries! My current tags are kind of slowing down enough that I can go back through some past posts~!]
no subject
"Ready when you are."
no subject
"Ready to go."
She gives Hanabi a confident smile in return. All set and ready to knock that silly skeleton silly with plants and alchemy! Probably the one good thing the flu had for her was that she figured out how to better control her own magic.
no subject
With the skeleton on one side of the room, Hanabi starts running for the box on the other side, leaving the skeleton to her quest companion to deal with.
