I'm a lover, not a fighter

⚔️️ WHAT: Gokudera's collar-removal procedure!
🕒 WHEN: Early November!
🗺️ WHERE: Dr. Kimishima's Clinic

The Day Before

Anyone looking to reach out to Gokudera before his procedure can contact him through his IC inbox or in here to wish him luck or... offer any possible last words for him if they suspect he may need them.

Gokudera's pretty certain he isn't going to die, doesn't want to, and will openly say as much with a smile in order to make himself and anyone he talks to feel better. He will spend the day before the procedure keeping to himself, trying not to alert anyone of any possible upset. He'll seem ruminative and fairly aloof and avoidant when it comes to feelings unless anyone calls him on his bullshit.

For those looking to simply talk to him about this, now would be their best chance. Gokudera has only really informed his boss of everything, and even his best friends aren't contacted. Sorry, but he's trying to keep the worrying for everyone to a minimum.

Maybe he needs to be distracted before the big day! Be the one to distract or offer a kind word! Or... not!

The Day of...

The only people allowed to be in the room of the procedure are Emet-Selch, Dr. Kimishima, Midoriya, Ochako, and Gokudera (obviously). There are people Gokudera would like to see directly after, to announce the successful removal of his collar, or if things turn out badly, would like them to know about his death. In an effort to keep the clinic free of a crowd of close friends, that lobby may only be occupied by Tsuna (or Midoriya as well if he can't get his nerves straight). The preparation for this is probably going to take longer than the procedure itself. This is the time for high nerves and lots of anxious sweating about everything.

The Procedure

Here's the plan:

- Ochako uses kinetic magic to keep the collar in place
- Gokudera uses the Mini potion to shrink himself
- Gokudera falls/shrinks out of the collar's range
- Ochako then uses her magic to move the collar into a lock-box (gotta keep other necks, fingers, wrists or whatever safe from the collar)

There's a lot that COULD go wrong but to anyone who knows Gokudera or what he's been through... this is going to go smooth because it's about time something went well for him.

The Freedom! AKA: Gokudera Independence Day (I'll see myself out)

Gokudera is roughly four inches tall and will stay that way for a few hours. He's FREE! Finally! Consider you get a text message saying the procedure was a success! He'll be celebrating later but hasn't actually planned anything out.

If you didn't get a text from him, you could have gotten a text from anyone involved. Maybe you even got sent a picture of a tiny!Gokudera with no collar around his neck. Blow his phone up with congratulation texts! Show up at the clinic (Naomi may not like that), but hey it's good news! React however you want! Just have fun!

Celebration???

Are we throwing a party? Is there something I forgot? Have a blast and I don't care how your character found out. We have fun here.

You don’t know what the Sasquatch is?! What about Big-foot? Yeti? The Mothman?! Tsuchinoko?

Tsuchinoko and the Yeti, yes. Aren't the others American? Isn't Bigfoot like a big gorilla and the Mothman like a big moth?

[He has some experience with big gorillas, if nothing else. They're surprisingly prevalent in Gintama.]

It’s not about where they are from, but about how there is always a search for proof about their existence. So, like the Ogopogo, Tsuchinoko, and the Yeti, and those other cryptids, Larry will not show up in pictures or leave anything behind that could be considered evidence of his existence. I think the Sasquatch is somewhat related to the yeti… humanoid, large, ape-like hairy cryptids. I’ve always wanted to see a cryptid like that… or an alien. So maybe I’m lucky to have Larry, as he’s very close to the Ogopogo or the monster of Loch Ness.

Aliens are overrated.

[Back on his homeworld they differentiate between sapient Amanto and more animal- or beast-like other alien species, and hell if the latter (~~and also the former, but~~) haven't caused the Shinsengumi a boatload of problems in its time.]

I understand about now Larry, though.

[That really was news to him about all those cryptids! He learned something here. He has no doubt that Larry is the cutest of them all, though.]

Maybe just aliens from your world!

[Gokudera refuses to believe that aliens from his world are overrated. They’re so mysterious!]

Good! He’s trying to maintain his mystery.

[He won’t bring up how cute Larry is, because he simply doesn’t see the creature as cute. However, he will say that every experience with his familiar has been astoundingly unique.]

[Hijikata is ready to let the alien topic go, but he suddenly remembers something.]

OK, I admit, some aliens aren't so bad. On Prismatica I had a crystal tortoise as a pet.

[It was actually his friend Tsukuyo who noticed to homeless animal crawling around in the street and all but forced him to adopt it with her, but details! He briefly wonders if he should look into whether living things can be imported to Avalon via 'Home Regain', but on second thought it's probably better to leave it on its native world. After all Hijikata hopes to be able to return there once they have sorted out the calamity.]

A crystal tortoise? Tell me about it! Would you have one again?

Sure, why not? There's not much to tell though. It was a tortoise, just with a crystal shell and scales.

Could you see through it? What kind of food did it eat?

Not totally, only a little bit. It was halfway milky/opaque (very shiny and colourful though). It ate plants, but the plants on Prismatica weren't like the ones on Earth.

[Gokudera is so excited about this... he does have his leopard pet, so perhaps he just really likes animals more than Hijikata realised until now.]

Could you see through it to the food in its stomach?

[He is FASCINATED.]

You should see if you can get one, or at least try talking with the traders! I’d love to meet an animal like that!

I'm not sure if it could survive here. Prismatica's atmosphere etc. wasn't so different from Avalon's, but who knows how sensitive such animals can be?

[Hey, he’s got a lot to look forward to, just having his life saved and all. The disappointment isn’t strong enough to change much.]

Uri arrived here without any of his flames. He went from being a part of my energy and will to just being… a leopard. They let me have him, and he’s extremely dangerous. It wouldn’t hurt to ask? I’d love to meet an animal like that.

[Gokudera is so persistently interested that Hijikata can't help but want to relent... honestly, what's the worst that can happen? If the tortoise doesn't do well on Avalon he'll simply ask the traders to send it back (that's possible, right... he better ask in advance).]

OK, I'll ask. But if I can bring it over you'll have to take care of it. I don't have the time, and besides my dinosaurs might kill it.

[His compsognathuses usually run wild in the Forest of the Felled, but now that it's getting colder they tend to stay in and around his hut where it's warm, so they might just take any other animal he brings in for prey.]

It doesn’t get very big, does it? I already have a leopard and Larry. I’m sure I can make room…

[absolutely no hesitation on being responsible for a new creature.]

I adopted 2 compsognathuses from Lestari. If you ever visit me by the Forest of the Felled you can probably see them.

[He would probably be going on and on about how cute it probably is, but holds back from expression since this is through text. His tone probably carries well enough.]

Are they very big? I’d rather not be far from my boss…

[It carries across alright! Hijikata smiles at that last statement, too. Gokudera's loyalty and love for his boss is something he'll always understand and support.]

They're small too (as big as chickens). I'll probably bring them back to Camelot some time next year when they're more tame.

[There are times Tsuna does his own thing, and Gokudera supports him in that. The bomber will always be there for his boss when he is needed, but can’t know everything the Tenth goes through. He’s trying to learn to not put his boss on a pedestal, and to allow him to make his own decisions without butting in all the time.

Right now, though, he’s tiny and his boss is there for him. Gokudera feels extremely lucky.]

I wonder how they might get along with Uri, or if they could

[Sometimes a good right-hand man needs to give his boss some freedom alright... not that Kondou ever gets up to anything responsible, but, well.]

I hope he doesn't eat it. How does he get along with Larry?

He ignores Larry a lot, but Larry also doesn’t spend too much time around me, or if he does, he’s not… visible.

[Perhaps both the tortoise and the dinosaurs will be fine with the leopard!]

I'll check with the traders about the tortoise. If all goes well you'll get it as your new year's present.

[Start his own menagerie or something, who knows? He's not going to deny how tickled the idea of being gifted such an animal makes him.]

[Even so, it can be Gokudera's while they're on Avalon! Now he's actually looking forward to hopefully seeing the little pet again. It'll remind him of his second home world and its restored beauty and inspire him to keep doing his best here so he'll be able to go back there soon!]

[Makes him wonder if Uri would get to go back home if he leaves Avalon. Maybe there's a different universe where he has an actual leopard and he's finally become the Tenth's right-hand man. He's comforted by that thought and settles down.]
