The Adventurer's Guild's First Training Session | Open
🧙 WHO: Mitsuru Kirijo and anyone else interested
⚔️️ WHAT: The first meeting of the Adventurer’s Guild Mitsuru proposed.
đź•’ WHEN: Backdated to 10/15, one week after her network post
🗺️ WHERE: Lone Mountain Dojo
⚠️ WARNINGS: None at present, but will update as needed.
Shortly after her initial network post gauging interest, Mitsuru went about laying the groundwork for the group’s first meeting. Fortunately, things began to fall into place fairly quickly. Securing a practice area for them was easy enough, as Knight-san had been kind enough to allow them the use of his dojo’s training yard.
Once that was done, the rest was relatively minor by comparison -- purchasing small supplies; notifying everyone who had expressed interest in joining of the date, location, and time of their first meeting; posting a few fliers in the hopes of garnering more interest; devoting thought towards training exercises …
All the little tasks make the intervening week pass by quickly. Soon enough, the day of the guild’s first meeting arrives.
When people begin to filter in, they’ll find everything neatly organized so that the actual work can start quickly after a brief welcome.
The majority of the space inside the dojo has been set up for One-on-One Training, whether it’s individuals practicing magic, volunteers teaching their respective martial disciplines, or sparring matches between training partners.
The fenced-in training yard outside has some room delegated for these activities - particularly for those with mobility-enhancing magic or for whom area-of-effect is a potential concern - but most of that space has been reserved for Group Exercises. Mitsuru has prepared a Capture the Flag-esque exercise where teams or individuals must try to steal their opponent’s flag while protecting their own, but participants are also encouraged to devise and share their own ideas as well.
Anyone participating in the training session is free to move between activities as they see fit. Should they have difficulty finding a partner or group, Mitsuru will assist them when she isn’t actively involved in an exercise herself. She’s also taken the liberty of purchasing water and high-protein snacks to keep everyone hydrated and energized, which she has laid out on a table on the dojo’s main floor.
(( Just for the sake of clarity, this post is totally open to anyone - regardless of whether or not they responded to Mitsuru’s initial network post. Feel free to use one of the above prompts, or add in your own! ))
