[ Minako nods as an answer to that first part - probably wanting to verbally say something as well, but she's already taken another bite of the sweets, which means her mouth is entirely filled up with fluffy delight. Which she's chewing and - thankfully - swallowing by the time Monika finishes talking, so she won't speak up with her mouth full in a way no one can understand. ]

Don't be silly, Monika-chan! I'd never think you're bad!

[ .. even if Minako may have some rose-tinted glasses when it comes to all of her friends.. ]

Isn't it really normal to sometimes want something for yourself? We're all human, it's not like we can be super selfless and good all the time.. It's trying to be that at the times when it really matters that's important!

[ She nods, and then smiles at the other girl. ]

So don't worry. I think just having super cute Monika-chan as my assistant is more than enough. Whatever makes you most happy and comfortable!

[ Trying to be selfless at the right time, when it really matters... A balance between treating yourself and caring for others. Yes, that was ideal. It was really good advice. It was just so ironic that Minako couldn't be further from following it. She was on the absolutely selfless end of the spectrum.

Gosh, I guess that means I ought to be noisy, huh... [That wasn't really her specialty. She was pretty sociable but not prone to making unnecessary noise.] Maybe I should look into getting a piano with my savings.

[ It's not quite the kind of 'preventing quiet in the house' that Minako was thinking of..

But exactly because it's so unexpected and surprising, it just makes her laugh instead. Don't worry, Monika, Minako has already got the noisy aspect covered when it's really necessary. It's her specialty. ]

Oh, oh! You totally should, and then we'll have to find some songs that I can sing along to that you can actually play on there! Then we can be a musical duo..!

[ That idea makes her look pretty excited! ]

[ Monika hadn't heard her performance just yet at this point in time. But the idea was very exciting.

More so since Monika wasn't so good at singing and preferred playing the piano over doing both. Gosh, was that what it felt like having a real friend, planning to do things without always being haunted by the knowledge all of it was meaningless, just doing fun things for the sake of the things themselves.

They sure are, and yet Minako says them so easily. Without even thinking about it. In fact, the whole lack of thinking might be the exact problem here - but does it matter when Monika is smiling like that and seeming so excited?

Of course not. Minako has already accomplished her goal, just by getting to see that. ]

I'll make sure to do my best to live up to your piano skills! And.. you know, now we have even less housemates, we don't even have to be all careful and quiet about it! We could practice whenever you'd want to.

[ She was talking about that whole influencer thing they'd mentioned last time. Monika's channel was doing fine and she'd found her rhythm, but as expected literature didn't bring in masses of people... It was a bit disappointing, but to be expected. At least she had an audience and was happy with it. ]

I can be something of a night owl, so maybe no whenever... Our remaining housemates may fill in a complain.

[ Still, she'd popped her phone out of the staff and would be looking for piano on sale... That was something she'd wanted to do for a while. An occasion one would do so long as it was good. A brand new one would be way too expensive. ]

[ Minako almost starts talking about 'her thing', but then stops herself. Because the main reason she didn't fully get it off the ground yet is because she sure got discouraged there for a bit because of what happened to the other cities that got attacked..

.. but she sure doesn't want to drag the mood down, so that sentiment is being shoved down. Maybe something she can address later.

A night owl, really? Do you just go to bed late, or do you wake up in the middle of the night..? [ To be fair, she is genuinely curious about that. ]

[ She noticed Minako's lack of comment, but didn't push the issue. She wanted to help her get this thing off the ground... But only if she actually wanted it. She could help with video editing, tactics to draw audiences and stuff! ]

Ahaha, I get easily distracted and go to bed late. [She laughed.] When I'm on my own in my room and got nothing concrete left to do, it's so easy to lose focus and get absorbed into all sorts of things. Before I realize it, it's one am already!

[ A bad habit to fix, perhaps. But everyone who lived in the modern era knew what it was like to check something on wikipedia and then three hours later you're reading a wikipedia article about some obscure topic you didn't even know existed before!

... That or it was really just her being overly curious. ]

[ Minako's voice trails off for a moment. Just because she's considering the habit! She guesses she's done that before too, back home - while reading some really interesting manga series, for example.

.. and then with discovering all these videos to watch in this place. It's kind of easy to get distracted with that much entertainment right at your fingertips, huh? ]

I guess I kind of understand, haha! [ She laughs. ] But as long as we both still get enough sleep in the end, it should be fine, right? My shifts at the karaoke cafe usually don't start until a bit later in the day, anyway!

[ So she can just sleep in a little. ]

[ The internet was too much power... Depriving them of sleep by giving them knowledge. But Monika looked pretty happy regardless that Minako understood her. ]

Mhm! [She nodded with a smile, but then turned off her phone. Nothing good to get online, as expected.] Do you want to come with me this weekend on the hunt for a piano? We'll probably find some cool stuff while we're shopping for it, too!

[ Nothing was more fun than shopping for a friend! Especially if they found a lot of cool stuff to bring back home. ]

[ Minako laughs. ]

Please, as if you'd have to ask me to come shopping! [ Of course she's coming along. Honestly, even if Monika hadn't asked her now, then she might just have invited her along when she'd see the other girl leave to go shopping...

That's just how it works when you live with Minako, apparently. ]

Of course we should go together, it'll be tons of fun! I don't know that much about pianos, but I'll have you know I'm a champion when it comes to haggling the price down, so I can help you with that part.

[ It would be fun! Truth to be told Monika absolutely loved shopping for new clothes and things... But didn't really have real experience going in big stores and stuff to do that stuff. The pains of coming from a tiny, half-baked reality.

But now wasn't the time to bring the mood down! ]

Gosh, I've never been good at haggling... I get too self-conscious and can't even try to negotiate the price of things.
