EVENT ✨ Something (Celli)Wigged This Way Comes

Autumn, despite the chillier weather, is a season of warmth and gathering. Perhaps moreso this year than normal, given the rather unplanned gathering of Celliwig and Lestari underneath Camelot's roofs. Though significant contributions from otherworlders have made food, shelter, clothes and other productions and donations, medical care, security and protection, and childcare an amazing group effort, typical individual celebrations for the departure of the dead from Avalon aren't being held, like Lestari's Death Ball. After looking at all the support they've been given, Lestari and Celliwig have looked at what they have to offer to help both their own people and the people of Camelot and other worlds.

The people of Lestari excel in cognitive magic, and while there are those who use it for mind-altering magics, there is a good portion who dedicate their studies to emotional and psychological support. One such method is the enchantment of origami paper into something affectionately called Worry Monsters: an specialized counseling technique used to help form support bonds between people with negative emotions. Having spent a portion of the month enchanting paper, two square sheets of paper are handed out to anyone the encounter. The first paper says: "Personifying your emotions can give them a tangible form and make them easier to face. Write down something that causes you worry, stress, fear, or sadness. This is your Worry Monster." The second paper says: "When your Worry Monster is present, how does it make you feel? Any reaction is valid."
When both papers are written on, the writing on both will disappear as if absorbed by the paper, then the pages will animate and fuse, then begin to fold into a monster! Halloween is this month, is it not? There is no sense in not having a little fun. These little Worry Monsters will stomp off and begin roaming Camelot until they find a match-- someone who shares those feelings. Once they find an emotional matching Worry Monster, the monsters will return to their creator and grow to the size of kaiju. They are very light, enchanted paper, so even if someone or something gets stepped on, they won't be hurt or damaged. However, they are strong enough to pick their makers up and carry them to the matching monster who will do the same. Don't worry-- characters will be invisible while being carried by their monster, so their identities will be protected until they are brought to their match. The paper monster will turn to butterflies and fly away once their task is complete. What matches do after they are brought to each other is up to them-- but they will know, undoubtedly, that they share the same worries-- they are with someone who understands. Do it as many times as you'd like, for as many negative emotions as your character wants. For finding something to do, Celliwig offers a solution. While Lestari's people have spent their efforts this month enchanting papers, the people of Celliwig are less apt to share so openly. Instead, they take their time learning about a variety of holidays from other worlds, and come to find one they can apply their particular talents to. While most of their showcase in the past has been on light magic, a holiday such as Halloween plays in particular to their talents in dark magic. A number of locations that have opted in and won't interfere with other relief efforts have been enchanted with dark magics for brave souls to venture into and test their courage! What's more, each of these locations will yield tokens for the victors that can be used to gain prizes. All courage tests must be performed with partners. Costumes are encouraged but not required.
	The library has been converted into a haunted art gallery, many of which have had their paints and other implements enchanted. Some paintings will seem like they're watching you, others will seem like a small figure in the background is following you throughout the library in different paintings. A painting of fruit may start throwing the fruit at you and materializing it into real fruit, so you may find yourself pelted with tomatoes if you don't run fast! A single painting filled with black paint might start leaking and filling the room you're in, pulling you into shadow until you're stuck in the library's underground labyrinth. There are a variety of paintings with different curses applied. Navigate through the library and escape the haunted paintings-- pairs who make it through without turning back will gain a Celliwig Token.
Another token can be gained via scavenger hunt in the Broceliande. Find cursed dolls from within tree hollows. The dolls will giggle and try to run away, may move when they're only visible in the corner of your eye if you set them down. What's perhaps a little spookier is that they take on the appearance of the first person to touch them, though they will never exceed three inches in height. Beware during your search, however, as there are a good many trees that have been transfigured into mimics. Though the mimics are not going to attack anyone, they do have giant hidden, wriggling tongues that will reach up and wrap the unalert up above the ground for capture. The only way down is if a partner fights the mimic, so don't go alone! Find a doll of both you and a partner and make it back to Camelot to obtain your token. The curse will break once they're exchanged for a token, so you can keep the cute little doll for yourself if you'd like.

The last test of courage invokes a temporary blindness hex on one of the partners. Both partners are walked into a soundproofed room, entirely silent in a way that truly seems to mess with one's head.

The unblinded partner is only allowed to answer "yes" or "no" questions, though no one will fault them for giggling as long as they give no clues otherwise. The blind partner is to stick their hands into a tank of water with mystery items hidden within. These items may be mere objects like peeled grapes in soggy noodles, or perhaps the tank is filled with chicken bones and those tiny garra that eat dead cells and are sometimes used for pedicures. All the items are set up to feel spooky, but ultimately are unharmful. As long as the partner who can give clues doesn't break the yes/no rules and the item is guessed within 3 guesses, a token will be rewarded!

Bring tokens to the inn where a stall has been set up, with Gwion working the booth to exchange tokens for the following prizes:

1 Token: Celliwig glasswork glass set of 4-- spooky themed! It's filled with candy upon receiving, so they are friendly for everyone.
2 Tokens: Recipe: Smokescreen - Cast this spell on any liquid to make it billow plumes of fog. The smaller the water surface, the smaller the billow. A shot glass might just create a small whisp, but two mop buckets would be enough to fill up a medium room. Will not effect the contents of the liquid. Cannot be used on water bodies larger than a swimming pool (could screen about half a block).
3 Tokens: Recipe: From the Void - Summons a disembodied tentacle from the shadows. It takes a lot of energy, so you could probably manage up to three casts a day at most before becoming exhausted. Great for binding enemies, sneaking in small spaces, and reaching places you might not be able to otherwise. The tentacle will follow whatever command you have in mind upon summoning, so be sure to concentrate on the task at hand!

[Ochako makes a face, not quite sure how much she likes being called "cute" for her fear of ghosts. It's really not cute at all, she thinks. It's stupid, and a major weakness of hers that feels like it plainly shouldn't exist. She's good at fighting people, even people with quirks that are pretty damn scary, but those are always explained away by said quirks - something familiar, something she can rationalize.]

It's not cute... [She huffs, floating them carefully past a few mobiles that bend and twist at unnatural angles, thankfully missing how a piece of the mobile attempts to grab at her ankle as she moves past.] It's stupid - I know I can fight them, I've had to when things really got serious a few times in past, but... Things I can't explain easily always catch me off guard a little bit. Before coming here, there's no way I could have fought a ghost or something...

[And unlike Ochako, Zidane notices the mobiles trying to interrupt their little floating 'tour' of the ghost gallery. So it's a hell of a deal to make sure they either spin away or let go with a little of his own magic before sh realizes. Like, c'mon guys, she's scared enough - the fun's over when she's not having anymore fun.]

See, that's the thing. You can fight them here. If you can't fight them at all, I get why they'd be scary. I'm sure if you threatened one or two, they'd get it to knock it off.

[Was this supposed to be fun? Maybe for certain people wanting to chase a few thrills, but this kind of entertainment is totally lost on Ochako. Rollercoasters are fun!! Sparring is fun!!! Ghosts? Ghosts and getting scared by ghosts is not fun.]

I know I can fight them, and I have before, but...it still doesn't get any easier. There's always a second I freeze up, or I hesitate, and I just...I can't afford to do that. [Not when any second means life or death in her field of work. Not just for herself, but for her partners, or for innocent people. Heroes can't hesitate. They can't stop moving. It's already cost her once, where here inactivity meant...S-Sir Nighteye...] ...I hate it. I hate that I can't get over that dumb fear. I don't know why it bothers me, either! It just...it just does.

[She sighs, and starts to sort of drift a little lower, as her magic picks up on her mood and she starts to drift them ever closer toward the ground.]

... You know, sometimes, you sound like you're really hard on yourself, and I don't get it. [Because sometimes, freezing up or hesitating in a battle could be a good thing. Running into things and continuing to do so doesn't always work out - and it could make it worse.]

Eh, I can't tell you that. But I'm kind of wondering if you're scared of ghosts... or something else.

[Because it doesn't sound like just ghosts either. And as she begins to drift down, he follows along, making sure to have his feet beneath him once they're close enough.]

[Her smile is frayed, weak, and definitely doesn't reach her eyes. Zidane doesn't understand - Ochako cannot afford to hesitate. She doesn't have the luxury of being able to not act. Her body has to move.]

I--...it's not about me. [Ochako sighs, feeling the weight fall down on her shoulders and by now her feet touch the ground with Zidane in tow.] My job for the future - being a Hero, specifically a rescue Hero - means I have to always be there for people in danger and who need to be saved. If I'm scared, how can I expect the people I'm helping to feel they can rely on me? How can I be a comforting presence to them in a time where they're feeling scared?

If I hesitate, even for just a second out of fear, if I don't move...someone could die. It's so easy in my world, too. Disasters caused by rogue or uncontrolled quirks, villain attacks, or just natural disasters put people in danger. I have to be hard on myself, because...b-because-- [Ochako looks down at her hands, which are trembling. She smells blood, sees blood, feels the weight of a body slowing sinking into death heavy in her arms. He was right there. She was holding him in her arms.] ...S-Sorry. I really dragged the mood down a lot, huh? Just forget about it. L-Let's have some fun instead!!

[Now with them both on the ground, Zidane walks along, still holding Ochako's hand to help her along as she talks. His tail swaying around, he kind of... casually shrugs. Also, she might not have noticed, but they'd passed two statues and several more paintings. Problems might happen when they approach more installations.]

Hey, don't worry about the mood, we can pick it up at any time. Besides, when duty calls, you'll rise to the occasion. Trust me, in that moment, you'll be able to put your fears and feelings aside to save people. You did it to try stopping me that the mansion.

[Which he's not going to apologize for.]

[The statues most certainly have turns their heads and bodies to watch the duo go, but thankfully it's after both Zidane and Ochako have already passed. Still, it's no less creepy - the vibe in here is terrible, and Ochako's grip on Zidane's hand is a little tighter than it would be otherwise. Sorry, man.]

I wasn't scared of either of you. [She frowns a little. It's a sore topic still, and she wont apologize either.] I knew, more or less, what to expect, so I could fight to the best of abilities. I can't exactly punch gh--AAAAAHHHH!!

[Nothing scary this time, but startling. A famous portrait, one Ochako knows exceptionally well, considering it's from her country animated, and the "Wave" shoots water like a hose at both herself and Zidane alike. Thank goodness they're right by the exit.]

[It's all good. He's still got circulation. Gloves are good at keeping some space.]

Haha, you'll have to be careful next time! I picked up on teleporting! [Which, finally, but being dizzy did not help that first pop.] Also, like I'd draw my weapons on you; that's too dangerous in a small...!

[Zidane's eyes snap shut in reflex to the water and his hair, usually standing up, is suddenly a curtain over his face. Don't mind him not waiting until they're out to shake his head.]

[Ochako would have a lot of words to say back - mostly that she's dealt with people drawing weapons on her, and knows how to fight against someone with blades, and effectively disarm them...so don't underestimate her - but she's a bit waterlogged at the moment to say much. Her own usually cute bob is sopping wet, the bangs and longer parts soaking into her shirt even more.]

This was the worst! [Man, who the hell thought it'd be fun?! For real, she ought to choke out the damn mages who thought this shit up.] I'm going home!!

[Even if she'd said that, it wouldn't convince him to do otherwise. When he drew his daggers on Bakugou, it was with intent to get in a cut and paralyze him temporarily. Stealing was the goal that night so stealing remained the focus. Blinking at her exclamation, he chuckles.]

Awe, Uraraka! C'mon, that wasn't that bad!

[Stealing...from a miser who thought putting an advanced and potentially fatal curse on his material goods was a Good Idea™. Ochako is still trying to have the police look into that shit and get the asshole at least fined for potentially endangering someone in the worst way. The level of necrotic dark magic alone should warrant some kind of punishment.

Simple petty theft doesn't, or shouldn't, warrant someone's arms rotting off by ways of a curse. But that's neither here nor there. Because--]

Yes it was!! I hate things like that!! I didn't even volunteer, they just forced me inside! [WAH. ;A;] I'm going home and taking a long bag and eating a big slice of pie!

[This was why a good thief wears gloves always. Never touch anything with your bare skin just in case it turned out to be dangerous. Though, Moguo, Gods' bless the fluffy nuisance too. But, unfortunately, the chances of Uraraka getting this aristocrat in trouble would be nil given the circumstances... oh well, she tried.]

[But all thoughts aside, Zidane chuckles.]

Hey, sounds like you earned it after putting up with their nonsense and still being a good sport. Enjoy your pie~!

[She sure is trying, and doing her best, but that's really all she can do. Whatever happens to that slimy motherfucker, happens. She'll just gently try to shift the tides in the background.]

I am! [Said almost petulantly as they exit the attraction and Ochako snatches up the token from one of the Celliwig mages, giving them a dirty look. She really doesn't mean to, they're also just trying their best, but...ugh.] Ne, what about you? What you you doing after this?

[Said while wringing water from her hair and shaking it out a bit. :| Honestly, in this weather? People are going to catch cold...]

[See? That's a good look-out to have on the guy!]

[Following her out the exit, he's a bit more casual going past the Celliwig mages, grinning their way and happily accepting a token. They were just trying to get people some spooky, late season fun after all.] Me? I'm gonna go home and ask Dagger how her day was. Oh, I should message her and ask what she wants to make for dinner.

[Shaking out his gloved hands a little, he gets his phone out of his pocket to text.]

[Oh, right, Dagger is...one of Zidane's friends? Ochako vaguely recalls the name - she's heard it before - but she finer details seem to have left her memory through the mess that has been these past few months. There's been just too much in her head lately that everything else seems to have been squeezed out at the edges.]

Oh, do you two cook? [She, uh...will be honest. The thought of Zidane cooking never once was, well...a thought.] Mmh, I should probably prep something back at my place, too. Something nice and hot to warm up...maybe a little bit spicy, too. Just a little...

Yup! Dagger’s still learning, but she picks up skills fast. [So, not only is Zidane cooking probably a new thought, but him being the primary. Meanwhile, sometimes there’s skipping grocery shopping and just gathering from the forest.]

[He nods, grinning wide.]

That sounds like it’ll be good and comforting after today.

[Wow...that sure is a thing. Ochako blinks a few times, shaking her head a little. I mean, she really shouldn't judge a book by its cover - Bakugou doesn't look like someone who could, or would, cook at all...but he's amazing at it.]

Mm, you're going to have to tell me a few of your favorite recipes sometime, Zidane-kun!! We can compare, ehehe. But a few of the dishes I know do tend to get a little spicy, so if you can't handle the heat like me, make sure to cut back a little bit!

[In all honesty, she's probably going to make something lightly spicy that just tickles the tastebuds. Mapo tofu sounds good, but does she have tofu? Probably not...ah well.]

[There's lots of things, but people don't ask... and Zidane puts it all behind stories.]

Eh, you might not like some of them, but sure, I can pass on a few favorites! And don't worry, I don't mind a little spice in my food.

[Of course, a little, not anything that might be atomic.]

Ehehe, me neither, though I really can't handle too much myself. Just enough to give it some kick!

[She sniffles a bit, finally feeling that cold set into her bones, and shivers. Right, she really should start to head back to the Inn and actually warm up properly...before she gets sick. Ochako smiles, rubs at her nose, then begins walking a bit.]

Eh, actually...do you stay at the Inn, Zidane-kun? We could walk back together, if you do.

I get that~

[He blinks at the sniffle and remembers, right, they were just hosed with water. Now, it's not being assailed by a magical blizzard, but it is cold.]

Yeah, I live there again. And sure, I'll escort you back.

[He's teasing again. But really, if anyone tries scaring her right now, the next friend they're making is with the ground.]

[Ochako definitely makes a bit of a face at the verbiage - she doesn't need an escort - but doesn't say anything about it out loud, knowing Zidane is just playing around. ...Definitely doesn't wipe away the face she's making at him, because she's still not entirely over everything that happened between them before, but...it is what it is.]

Yeah, okay... [She rubs her hands over her arms, sniffling again, and laments her damp clothes - definitely going to need a hot bath and food after this, so she doesn't get sick. It won't take long, and thankfully the Inn's not far, but man, it's not a pleasant walk in the slightest. No ghoulies, thank god, but it's cold, and her hair is sticking to her back of her neck in a really uncomfortable way.]

Y'know, if you ever want, you can come over for dinner - both of you. I don't have a ton of space, but it'd be nice to have company sometime. I mean, if you want...

[Whaaat? Everyone likes having a personal escort, don't they? But yes, he is playing around, and yes, he look does have him chuckling a bit. For him, whatever happened is pretty much water under the bridge.]

Cool! Let's go! [There's been a few trudges home with soaking clothes that he'll just walk along like this may as well happen. And fortunately, no spooks to be had on the way back! Huzzah!]

[It's a bit of a sad walk, because Ochako definitely does sniffle and sneeze a bit along the way, shivering up until she uses her elemental magic to heat up her hands and rub them over her arms cheeks and tummy to warm herself. Not a cure-all, but a decent fix until they're in the lobby of the Inn.]

I wouldn't have offered if I did, ehehe...and I'd like to think having a dorm full of nineteen other weirdos like me kind of makes me used to odd company. [She grins. Her classmates are oddballs, definitely, but she adores each one.] Ah, but a heads up would be appreciated, definitely, thank you.

I'm going to head to the baths before I turn in for the night - I think I need to warm up before I really catch cold. See you!
