🛡️ After the Storm
[ Blair normally wouldn't do this sort of thing, but the promise of money and a step further towards her long-term goal had her enduring the work. It's also useful training, which had been the only thing she's been doing so she gets a change of pace in her workouts. But instead of getting her hands dirty, she uses her Kinetic magic to move things. She remains on a level she finds frustratingly weak, despite her concentration of pushing snow off of the roads and onto the sidewalk. ]
Excuse me.
[ She warns someone who was on or near the path where she was pushing the snow toward. She didn't want to break her concentration so she didn't stop or warn the other person some more. Sorry if you feel someone telekinetically push you a little. ]
🗡️ Bridge Trolls
[ She hasn't had a taste for actual combat in a while, and Blair is having an itch for a good hunt. No thrill like stalking her prey and firing an arrow through their cranium. She carefully planned her approach in taking these trolls out, listening to the construction crew's descriptions of the creatures and making sure she has an accurate idea of the area. With that information, she went on ahead - alone. Just the way she likes it. Her armor is still strong enough to protect her from most damage, but she lacks her stealth capability of turning invisible. Hiding atop the trees, she watched her quarry until it's getting dark. There's three trolls, hiding underneath the bridge and far away for her to shoot with decent power.
Once the trolls were relaxed and getting ready to sleep, that was when Blair decided to strike. Tired from an entire day, their minds would be more prone to deception. With one troll keeping watch, Blair uses her Kinetic magic to move some rocks at the opposite side of her, covering her approach as she moves down from the branches and using the trunks as cover. But something happens that she did not expect... The trolls were woken by something else. Or rather someone else. Blair looks at the newcomer who just ruined her plans but also provided her with an ample distraction. Frustrated she may be, Blair sprints closer to proceed with her strategy and to see who this person is. Can't have them take on three trolls at once, so Blair did something daring and quite possibly dangerous.
She puts her bow away and climbs up a tree to get some height while the newcomer is busy being on the spotlight of three angry monsters. Without wasting any moment, Blair jumps behind one of them, stabbing the back of their neck with her knife to get their arms swinging and hitting their fellow troll ]
Watch out!
Exploring Camelot
[ Blair isn't used to animals. So she can be seen... walking her dragon like it's a dog. She bought a leash for it and everything, just letting the winged lizard take it's small steps while Blair follows along with it. Blair has a good idea of what the place is like by now, always taking some time to walk around and get used to the city. She can be seen in the city's largest entertainment districts in the late afternoon when the sky is slowly turning blue, and around the time street lights are going to be slowly brimming to life. While strolling down the sidewalks, Blair was distracted by a bookstore, stopping to see what books are out on the display window. The smell of coffee and fresh pages manages to reach her nose when the door opened, allowing her a brief moment of peace before her dragon, Nero, flies over the ground when it saw something interesting - or someone interesting! It gives a little grunt in greeting, with Blair noticing her familiar when she felt the tug on the leash ]
Nero! God, what now? My apologies about him, he's excitable and friendly.
Training Ground
[ With gyms needing money to be accessible, Blair settled with the training grounds that was readily available to them. Whether you're hear really early (before sunrise) or during the day, you'd either see Blair warming up and finishing up her training. Either way, she's feeling the strain of what she had been doing constantly, stopping in the middle of it to wince in slight pain on her shoulder. She needs a healer, stat. Or a massage. Come on, she's paying. ]
training ground
Well. It seems someone's already strained. What good fortune - er, so to speak. ]
I take it you've had enough for one day. Come here, let's sort you out.
no subject
A healer?
[ Blair stands proud, yet careful of her shoulder ]
Very well. If it would get me back into training.
no subject
[ She begins to approach Blair, elegant even as she walks. ]
no subject
[ She sighs. Whoever this girl is, she's right. Blair had been overexterting herself that she can't recover fully. After a moment of watching this stranger, she follows not far from Maribelle, only stopping once Maribelle finds a place they can settle on to heal Blair's shoulder ]
My gratitude, miss. But I suppose you're not doing this completely out of good will.
no subject
[ She sets her hand above the 'injury', concentrating. ]
However... I was one of the primary healers back in my realm as well. So this is what I'm used to.
no subject
I suppose they didn't think that far ahead, not giving healers like yourself proper training tools like the rest of us. You're lucky that your magic here matches the one you already know well.
[ Starting from scratch and having no knowledge on how to wield magic is a pain that's worse than the pain she's experienced with her shoulder ]
no subject
[ huff huff rant rant. But at least the magic is working, despite her complaining. ]
no subject
That's a shame.
[ She says flatly, glancing away and clearing her throat. ]
What's your name? Mine is Blair, and I might need your services in the future. It would be nice to have a healer to help with my training.
no subject
Focus!]
My name is Maribelle. I'm happy to be of assistance whenever I can.
Exploring Camelot
Putting down the supplies she was looking over at one of the nearby stalls, Caster glanced up at the commotion, only to hear Blair's apology.]
...Mine is the same. I apologise if the little one wound your familiar up.
no subject
[ She spoke with a bit of her dry humor. The namesake person of her dragon is probably rubbing off on her. Meanwhile, Nero seems to be communicating with the other skeletal dragon in what Blair could only imagine to be dragon small-talk. She was briefly looking at the other dragon, curious of it's nature as an undead one. ]
I've never seen the like of your familiar. It's both scary and fascinating, if I must say.
no subject
[It was amusing, seeing the two familiars chat amongst themselves. She couldn't understand their words, of course, but it looked as if they were making friends at least.]
I can't say I've seen another like it since I arrived. But before I came here I could summon skeletal familiars using dragon fangs, so I suppose that is how I ended up with one like this. Although those ended up more human in appearance.
Did you have much of a connection to dragons before all this?
no subject
[ Blair shrugs, fixing her fringes and watching Nero sit and get comfortable talking to the skeletal dragon. It wagged it's tail like a dog would, amusing Blair enough to chuckle slightly ]
But a mage even before coming here I see. It must have been frustrating to have to start all over again.
no subject
[Tail wagging is good! Her familiar was responding in kind, stretching out it's wing-bones before settling down to sit as well.]
...I really should give you a name at some point, shouldn't I?
[The skeletal dragon gave her a pointed 'yes' sort of look, before going back to chatting with its new friend - probably to grumble about its Mistress.
Caster just chuckled at that, before returning her attention to Blair.]
It certainly is frustrating... my power here is nowhere close to what it was. I take it you didn't have magic before this?
no subject
No. I've always been more physical, but magic is something I've encountered before in my enemies.
[ Blair crouches down to pet Nero gently, letting the familiar socialize some more ]
Nothing like the ones I've seen here, however. The one I was familiar here was more... demonic, in nature.
no subject
Demonic? How so?
no subject
[ Seeing the other dragon nudge at her fingers, Blair couldn't help but smile and give it what it wanted, tickling it's chin and wondering how it must feel sensations and how those bones felt against her fingertips. ]
But an incident in my part of the world had caused rifts in reality, creating a one-way connection to a dark dimension where demonic creatures have been using to enter the living plane. The rifts were small, so the spilling of demonic creatures into the human realm were manageable, and I was able to hunt them on my own at times.
no subject
Now, now, you'll spoil the little one.
[Not that Caster really seemed to mind all that much, it was sweet seeing how much her dragon enjoyed the attention.
Still, for now, she listened to Blair's story.]
You must have been relatively powerful to hunt them down like that...are you in the frustrating position of having lost some of your abilities since coming to this world as well?
