It is Taichi's 18th birthday and the party is 50s diner themed. Not because Taichi is about to go and join some greasers sort of deal but most of his favorite foods could be found in a diner so why not go with a theme? From the bright red diner tables and the random fake license plates hung around, the setting looks exactly like a 50s diner. There are waiters and waitresses dressed up to play the role, with the girls rolling around on roller skates to refill/replace the basket of fries at every table and offer either soda or water to everybody around. There's party games, music, and more. Random people in business suits that you don't know? Shh, pay it no mind.

MENU
If you want healthy* options? Sorry, you're out of luck. Hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, onion rings, and any type of soda you can imagine. Dessert? This sweet tooth overload. Check your diet at the door today.
*There is salad.

MUSIC
In the jukebox for a small fee, you can choose among the different songs there are. However, you will not find any oldies but just different rock songs. There are a couple of strange dance songs (what the hell is a salsa slip?) and a slow song in case anybody wants to have a moment. No matter the song you choose, it doesn't really fit with the 50s theme.

GAMES
You know what else doesn't fit the 50s theme? The arcade games. There's games similar to tetris, some type of alien invader looking game, fighting games, some racing games, and some game called Glutton Dude where you just try to eat a lot. However, there is a pinball machine so this isn't entirely anachronistic here.

[Taichi has (probably. definitely) talked about his boyfriend and they've maybe seen each other in passing, but Kazunari and Hikaru have never formally met. No better time to than now, really.] Taicchan looks super happy ~ ☆

[Hikaru has been a terrible boyfriend and has not bothered to really go out of his way to introduce himself to anybody from Taichi's world.

Ding ding! That's me! [He's high energy being in host mode so lucky for Kazunari!] Kazunari, right? You're into graphic design, right? [Hikaru may not know him personally but he knows enough from Taichi.

Uwaa ~ you're well informed! I do graphic design for the theater but I dabble in a little of everything else, too. [He is going to keep working towards his goal of being an Ultimate Multi Creator even while in Avalon after all.]

What about you? What sort of art do you make? [Uh oh, puppy mode.] I've been dying to make some arty friends, tbh!

[Hikaru is far too used to this sort of puppy mode. From Tamaki to Taichi, he's surrounded by these types it seems so Hikaru's smile doesn't miss a beat.]

I've seen your work! I do some graphics, fashion design, traditional, and flower arranging. Been thinking about photography. Kind of already doing that on my own.

Oh! My focus in school is [was?] traditional painting actually. But I've never done anything with flower arranging... you'll have to let me pick your brain about that!

[But like, super duper importantly:] I'm aaall about taking pics for socials. Do you have an Insta??

[Is that even what Hikaru was talking about.]

Pick my brain all you want! My grandmother is famous in the ikebana world so I have to be good enough to be called her grandson. [It sounds like an exaggeration but that old woman is a terror and probably has said similar things to him.

It wasn't exactly what Hikaru was talking about but he understands.]

Yep yep! Look up tenjikubotan! [And his high follower account with his pictures of all the flower arrangement he does, his kitsune familiar, selfies, and pics with Taichi because he's definitely made their relationship profitable. ]

[Kazunari whips out his phone in record speed and quickly navigates through to Hikaru's account. Everything about it is certainly impressive.] Wow, wow! Your arrangements are gorge!

[Most importantly - or at least, to Kazunari:] And you an' Taicchan are sooo cute! Iconic!

People really like the pics of us! Oh check out hikatai. It's a user on there that just posts edits of us! [When you've got your own ship name then you know you've made it.] Some of them are really cute.

Haha, you're too nice! Hardly a celeb. [No, he totally is and this is how he's making his money as he tries to figure out what to do without his twin.]

But thanks. You seem to know your stuff so glad you approve! It's helped me get some people interested in the theater.

Don't be so modest ~ [No, really. Kazunari's a people pleaser at heart, and to a fault sometimes. Let him know exactly how to get in Hikaru's good graces because getting along with Taichi's boyfriend is very important to him.]

Especially if you're bringing in interest in the theater! I haven't been here too long so I'm still figuring out the best way to really promote ourselves.

You know, some things always work. I gave Sakyo-san some tips before he left and I don't know if he ever went through with them. But merch works. Back home for our host club back home, we had merch. Like calendars and everything.

[Hikaru has been wondering if he should go into this venture for the theater. Running their merch and designing it. It helps itch the artistic urges he has while also getting him money. Win/win.]
