[For Clover, she'll only get a small squeeze of her favourite tuna treat into a bowl. For them, it'll be some slices of cake baked by yours truly—a simple chocolate one that won't be too dense or sweet, but light and fluffy and easy on the tastebuds, although Clover is much more interested in theirs as soon as she's finished gobbling up her own.

Tifa brings the plate back to Nanaki and sets it down for him, and she sits on the floor with hers, propping her back against the wall next to him so that they can enjoy it together.

It's nice... sitting here with him like this. Outside, parts of the world have started to crumble, but here, she can forget about it, and just be with family. Feels a little odd to be thinking that she could even have one, especially after all they've been through back home so far, but in a good way.

She'll be sad when it all has to come to its inevitable end.]

So... [she finally says after her first bite.] You think you'll be staying here a while?

[Chocolate cake is always good, especially if made by a friend. Nanaki doesn't need much flair in his food, so he's all but happy to enjoy the cake Tifa has prepared. It's a much-needed bit of respite after so much turmoil and suffering. And the fact that he's able to take a bite without getting sick is just proof that he's not your regular lab rat dog!]

[He swallows his own bite before looking up at Tifa. He nods to her, his tail flicking.]

If my presence isn't going to cause too much of a problem, then yes. I think it's best we stick close to each other, for now.

Why would it be?

[If anything, it's the complete opposite of that. Him being around is going to be anything but a problem, or a burden, and honestly if Tifa had a choice, they would have all moved in like this a long time ago and stay that way until they were plucked back to their worlds one by one.]

I like having us all under one roof. [And taking care of everyone...] There are refugees staying at your place too, yeah?

I cannot think of a reason, but I do not like to impose.

[It's mostly for him to be polite than anything. He likes having everyone under one roof as well.]

Yes, there are. They need a place to stay, and I would much rather sleep among friends than strangers.

I'm sure Aerith's told you already to stay as long as you want, so I doubt I need to repeat it.

[Because she sure has told Tifa that more than once. In fact, she'd been requested to stay forever, and if she could, she absolutely would. It's sweet.]

Besides, I don't think Clover would ever forgive me if I let you leave.

[And there it is: a meow to confirm before she goes back to slurping on her treat.]

[Nanaki lets out a chuckle, and nods his head once.]

She did, yes. And between you and Clover, I don't think I would be able to leave even if I wanted to. I am more than happy to sleep here.

And if you ever need anything from me, all you gotta do is ask.

[She takes another bite of her cake, and pauses partway through, and fixes him with a pointed look, but it doesn't dim the amusement in her eyes.]

... So long as you don't use that stupid bell Aerith gave Balthier, then I think we'll get along just fine.

[And Tifa will happily finish her cake seated on the floor next to Nanaki, with Clover sniffing and pawing at their plates now and then to try stealing a bite, or leaping at his tail or his ears, or climbing onto his back until she finally finds herself a place right at his side, where she'll curl up and fall asleep.

Welp, he lives there now!]
