[Open] Send Shivers Down Your Spine
🧙 WHO: Zidane Tribal and You!
⚔️️ WHAT: Catch-all for October feat. Fighting, Quests, and Stealing... not in that order
🕒 WHEN: Throughout October until the next Event
🗺️ WHERE: New Camelot, Ruins of Celliwig, Forest of the Fallen
⚠️ WARNINGS: Violence in fighting, and blood might pop up. Other than that, not going into gory details I don't think.
I. Don't Lose Your
He knew some people came back to the Ruins that were once Celliwig, and he did too. While mainly to check up on them, make sure they had their own food or supplies if they intended on staying, he would then stay around to help recover bodies or build grave markers before heading back to New Camelot.
However, subsequent visits were... tense to put it mildly.
It's not the first time people had been scattered by the sound of hooves pounding against the dirt, the disembodied laughing, and blocking the Headless Horseman's swing as he attempted to behead one of the many visitors to Celliwig. Zidane's daggers hold and he managed to redirect the swing - at which, the horse reared and carried its rider away, but they'll be circling around. He never left after one clash.
Zidane took that moment to look back.
"Go! Hide!"
From fixing fences to building up bunk beds, he's becoming a pretty efficient at building things. It was always just whatever set they needed before and then those small repairs around the hideout, but hey, he didn't mind this. It's a repetitive task maybe, but it's keeping him busy and they were going to be used. Really, he was happy to be able to help out.
"Alright..." He wiped he forehead with a wide grin. "This one's all ready! Let's get to the next one!"
It made sense why the landlord had been tight-lipped about whatever occurred at his house now. Originally, Zidane had dealt with the gang that came to his new home saying he had to pay some 'protection fee'. Well, he said that hadn't been in the contract, had a fight break out, and left them in the dumpster where they belonged. After what happened in Celliwig and Lestari, he'd let refugees move into his home, completely forgetting about the gang before.
Imagine his surprise to see those two-bit wannabe thugs bothering the family he was housing - and then hearing how they did that to the whole neighborhood.
He's not exactly sure about this new gang forming, but at least they wanted to help the refugees. And hell, if it meant killing two birds with one stone - IE, dealing with that cheapass aristocrat that set up this gang for a little illegal tinder on the side, fine with him. Donning a new black cloak and mask, Zidane was gonna see this aristocrat and all his friends deciding to withhold aid were gonna pay their own dues.
[OOC: Open also to people who might be deciding to hustle refugees for protection fees because Zidane's not having that. And people who are Robin Hoods or trying to stop said Robin Hood types, let's go!]
The once Forest of the Felled was pretty much just as they'd left it after the encounter with the Stone Giant: too quiet save for the small fauna and wind. And seeing the Giant sit in slumber again just reminded him how they failed, but he digressed. They weren't here about that; they were here about removing wards that were now rendered pretty much useless.
All was going pretty well until the sun started to go down... and then things began to change. He felt the fur on his tail and hair on his neck rise, and eventually had to stop with his group.
Wait, group? But there'd been so many people moment's ago. How'd they get separated?
But he brought a hand to his dagger and prepared himself, the rotted stench of decay and death reaching his nose faster than whatever had started talking minutes before.
... The hell was that thing approaching them!?

II. Bunker Down
From fixing fences to building up bunk beds, he's becoming a pretty efficient at building things. III. A Quest from Locksley (mingled with Suns Out, Guns Out)

IV. Forest of the Fachan

[Not. That people can really be too picky at the moment and all. Considering the situation. But still. Colette does not necessarily mind, as long as she is helping. Knowing she is able to do something to help out somehow in all of this. Even if this is involving getting paint splattered on her in the process. And that this might not be as easy as she figured if she has to help try assembling things without her usual Angelic strength in making it that much easier to do more physical jobs.]
no subject
[Of course, this has been him a few times and with less. Being picky over paint colors seems so... eh, he doesn't know what would best describe it. Point was, take what you had for now and once you're back on your feet, welcome back some of the luxuries. Blinking, he notices her trying to assemble a few pieces.]
Need some help?
no subject
[She sighs, pouting a little as she relents in giving a nod. She doesn't want to slow him down in asking for help but. She needs the help. She figures if she helps the quicker they would progress at least but that may not actually exactly be the case necessarily.]
no subject
[And like, good on them, live their best life. Walking over, he gives her a grin before getting to work. It's all good if she needs help - they're working on all this together after all!]
no subject
[So she knows now. The damp of the rain, the chill in the colder months. It's there again for her to feel. Unlike that period back home where she couldn't feel anything at all. If she can help do this in making those that lost their home more comfortable, it's worth it.]
no subject
[To avoid the rain, and sometimes early morning Mist... but huh, there's not gonna be that anymore. Still helps when one wants to avoid monsters for a night or two. Speaking of... He finishes getting the frame together and pauses.]
How are you holding up after everything?
no subject
[At least. Not majorly or anything. Nothing that serious that it would keep her down for any period of time. Colette hastens to reassure him, her hands fidgeting in flailing slightly as she helps with the frame and answers his question. Because of course it's Colette. She doesn't want him fretting or anything. Not regarding her anyway.]
You?
no subject
[Which was more than could be said where he'd been fighting... And for a second, things almost come apart on the frame because Colette's flailing which makes Zidane flail, but ah-ha! Triumph! With maybe a sore foot.]
Been better. It's not the first time something's gone wrong at that level. Still, what do we call the Forest now? The Forest of the Stone Giant?
no subject
[Colette was always one to step up to help. Often without necessarily considering her own safety. Which is probably for the best she went to help the survivors rather than focusing on the fighting. Given the chances of her ending up hurt trying to help out in stepping to protect someone or something.]
Maybe? Were they going to change the name? I hadn't checked on anything like that. I guess I was more focused on helping everyone settle as best I can.
no subject
[Because the way most of them live has now been completely upended. It would take a while before they found some way of living that would be 'normal' enough to them. Both the people from Lestari and Celliwig... this was probably the longest they've interacted with Camelot in ages - or ever.]
Nah, nothing like that. It's just calling it Forest of the Felled seems weird when there Felled are kinda... gone.
no subject
[Trust Colette to try come up with a solution like that. To try think on the positive in working together on it. She does wish she could do more. It's just more difficult as she has to accept her limits with not having her usual Angelic abilities in more easily being able to help with such physical work like this. But she wants to do what she can.]
no subject
[They should probably ask the folks from Celliwig before doing anything. And maybe they wouldn't want to rename it to remember what once was. Not that he thought it'd be too healthy, but everyone deals with bad situations differently.]
How's that look? Ready to keep painting?
no subject
[That it would be a name they approve of. A name they would like and all. Back home, some of the places they went to were damaged as well, but they'd rebuilt over time and things had worked out. Colette hopes they can manage the same here.
She gives a nod and claps her hands together.]
Yes! I am, it looks good! Thank you.
no subject
[But it still made him wonder what kind of names even the people of Celliwig would come up with.]
[He nods, beaming.]
No problem~ I'll leave ya to finish up!
no subject
[So it seems more their business. Not Colette and Zidane and the others that aren't even from here. At least, she figures. Which isn't to say she isn't settling in and all after all this time, for however long she is here, but. Colette's aware this isn't really....home. Not entirely.]
Right!
no subject
[Which, shrug, that's fine with him. It's fine with him if she seems to sound detached from this place in her speech; this wasn't his home either.]
How many beds do you think we can get through today?
no subject
[Colette is always wanting to help. It's just a matter of letting her but keeping that balance that she doesn't tire herself as a result. Still, she wants to do her part given these people have fled from their homes and all. They need all the support they could get, given their situation.]
no subject
[She wants to help so he's not gonna just tell her not to. Beside, aside from the paint spills, they haven't had any major accidents.]
no subject
[Maybe setting a specific number might be a better idea. But she wants to help and setting a lower number might mean they wouldn't get as many done to help these refugees and all. So she gets back to work in painting the frame they just figured together, letting him get to work on the next.]
