Babysitting Blues

[ As part of the recovery efforts, Della has offered to help babysit while parents find jobs/housing! Since she missed out on raising her boys at a certain age, she’s more than happy to take on the especially young kids, and find out how she would have been as a mom back then. Surely she would been the perfect mama with the perfect kids!

Turns out, the vision in her head and reality is… quite different. ]

I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry! What did I do?! Oh, honey, darling, sweetie, please, just… give me a minute! I’ll figure out what’s wrong, I swear!

[ Della had taken one of the babies she’s sitting out for a stroll, but now it’s screaming bloody murder, as babies tend to do. She’s taken it out of its stroller and rocks it back and forth, struggling not to panic. Well, not panic more. ]

Okay, ummm…! You’re not wet, let me see if I can find your bottle, I know I put in the stroller somewhere… Geez, how did Donald do this at three times the volume?!

Pumpkin Mayhem

[ Della had been among those who was delighted to find some Halloween-resembling activities! With a big smile and a bigger knife, she was carving the spookiest, scariest pumpkins she could imagine. Sharp fangs for vampires! Glaring eyes for witches! Deadly claws for werewolves! Just as she’s about to carve up another one, that’s when they spring to life!

Della blinks… then smiles, turning her knife upward. ]

Ahahaha, SWEET! This place really knows how to celebrate a good holiday! So, who wants to be pumpkin pie first?

[ It only then dawns on her that she’s TOTALLY SURROUNDED by her own creations. Her enthusiasm begins to wane a little. ]

… Prrrobably should have stopped after five…

Halloween Haunts

[ Given the death and destruction last month, people probably aren’t in a festive mood for spooky shenanigans. So, Della resolved not to throw a Halloween party… but, c’mon. She’s got to do SOMETHING Halloween-y on the big day, it’s her favorite holiday!

So on the 31st, at the house she lives in with Fenton and Drake, there’s a big bowl of candy on the porch. Above it, a sign reads FREE CANDY.

If anyone falls for the obvious trap, or just wants a closer look, be prepared… because Della has prepared unique scares and surprises! For now, she lays in wait for her prey… ]

[ Finally getting to his feet, he brushes himself off as he glances up at Della. ] Oh, uh...Cool?

Of course! Every kid needs plenty of good, hard, traumatizing scares during their youth! It builds character!

Um, Della? I'm not sure if, uh...you should necessarily be...y'know, traumatizing kids?

[ Though he can't tell if she actually means "traumatizing" or if it's just hyperbole. ]

Too late! I'm the queen of giving kids nightmares! And the day is still young - there's still plenty of time to come up with even scarier ideas!

Della, I'd reeeeeeeally rather not get complaints from our neighbors.

[ Again. ]

Oh, come on, you should join me! I bet with that big brain of yours, we can come up with all sorts of brilliant schemes to haunt the night away!

[ sure, the last time she had this attitude, LP almost went on a killing spree, but what're the odds of that happening again? ]

[doctorintern]

[ He hesitates for just a moment, though he knows there's really no point in arguing with her. Then he glances around, thinking. ]

...I wonder if I can use my Elemental magic to make fog...

[ Her eyes glitter, and then she takes fistfuls of Fenton's shirt to shake him back and forth. ]

YES YES YES!!! THAT'S PERFECT! THIS WILL BE HORRIFYING!

[doctorintern]

[ OH DEAR GOD WHAT HAS HE DONE ]

W-W-Wait, Della...! I'm not sure I can even do-oo-oo it...!

Let's go inside and practice on the next kid that comes by my trap!

[ She's already dragging him inside... ]

And maybe we can dress up Atom and make him look like a rabies-infested demon dog!

[doctorintern]

[ He stumbles along behind her, not that he has much of a choice. ]

M-Maybe not rabies-infested? There could be a spookier kind of demon dog, right?

[ One that doesn't frighten people into worry about whether to put his dog down or not. ]

Oooh, like a zombie dog! I like the way you think, Fenton! We can make him smell like rancid meat and see if we can make his eyes all glow-y!

[ lo and behold why scrooge did not let the twins have pets ]

[doctorintern]

[ Yeah he's beginning to see that. But at least he'd be able to wash off any smell.

Glowing eyes...well, it'd really depend on how they do it. ]

U-Um...we can...give it a try?

[ Della pauses, then puts a hand to her ear(?). ]

I hear footsteps... MAN THE FOG! I have shadows to manipulate!

[doctorintern]

Er, wait, but I still don't -

[ He hesitates, trying to think. Okay, so fog is just when water vapor condenses. If he could just figure out how to do that...maybe if he just makes as small water particles as possible?

Well...here goes. ]

[sos_pilot]

[ Della mans the window, peeping behind a curtain, and begins wiggling her fingers. ]

First, I'll lift some of those pebbles, and drop them when they turn around, giving them the EEEERIE feeling something is there...

[doctorintern]

Sounds great.

[ His answer is just a bit distracted as he concentrates, trying to figure out how to make the drops of water as small as he can. When water does start to gather, though, it does look a bit more like raindrops just hovering in the air. ]

[sos_pilot]

Now then...

[ She wiggles her fingers... Her own shadow gives a thumbs up, then calmly slinks under the door. ]

To mess with their shadows, thanks to mine...
