⚔️️ WHAT: Pumpkin mischief!

⚠️ WARNINGS: Possible spookiness?
Zagreus has never heard of Halloween before. In fact, he's never heard of any of the holidays people celebrate here, and he's been having a heck of a good time learning all about them. The thought of a holiday on which you're allowed to dress up in spooky costumes and scare people and demand candy and play pranks appeals to him a lot more than it probably should, to be honest.
Zagreus has also never heard of a pumpkin, much less a jack-o-lantern. So here he is, with a huge pumpkin (the biggest one he could find!) and a knife, sneaking glances at other people in an attempt to figure out what he's supposed to do, here.
He spots a girl nearby and sidles over to her, carrying his enormous pumpkin up on one shoulder.
"Hello there. I don't suppose you would mind giving me a bit of advice on what to do with this, er...orange...plant thing?"

Still, she looks up when she's spoken to. Ah, yeah... it makes sense that some people here wouldn't have Halloween, huh? ]
Oh! You mean the pumpkin? [ She stands up, smiling and holding her own pumpkin. Average-sized, not nearly as big as Zagreus' pumpkin. ] Well, the tradition is to cut a hole in the top and empty it out. Then, you carve a face into the side, and then you have a Jack-o-lantern! You can even put a candle in it, and then it'll glow out of the holes you've carved into it.

[He sets his pumpkin down and considers the knife. It's more or less a weapon, right? So he should be pretty good at this. Theoretically.
Concentrating, Zagreus stabs his knife into the top of the pumpkin and cuts a hole in it that's really more like cutting almost the entire top of the pumpkin clean off. He pulls the top off by the stem and peers inside. It sort of looks like...gunk.]

[ She smiles, remembering how she used to be incredibly grossed out by it when she was a kid. ]
You've just gotta scoop all of that out, preferably with a big spoon. Less messy, y'know? Though...
[ She stares at the amount that he cut off... ]
You're... not supposed to cut that much off, but it should still be fine.

[He says it in a tone that suggests he has no idea what that is and is just accepting it.]
Ah. Whoops! Are there any big spoons here? Otherwise I can just reach in there and yank it out, I suppose. Oh--
[He looks up from the pumpkin to the girl with a friendly smile.]
I'm Zagreus, by the way.

I mean, you totally can yank it out yourself! Just... beware the stickiness.
[ She smiles back, holding out her hand for a handshake. ]
I'm Yuzu! It's nice to meet you!

[He moves the knife to his other hand so he can shake hers.]
Oh, a little stickiness never hurt anyone. Er, probably. Besides, what's a little pulp compared to the bloody waters of the River Styx?
[His smile turns cheerful at that, and then he sticks his hand into the pumpkin and grabs as much of the pulp and seeds as he can with one hand. He gives it an experimental tug just to see how hard he'll need to pull, and then he straight up yanks it out with a triumphant ha!
It squishes between his fingers like slime. So he clenches his hand a little tighter to make it squish more.]
It really is very sticky, isn't it?

[ She can't help but laugh at the sight. Sure, it was fun to scoop it all out with your bare hands, but... ]
Good luck washing that out!
[ With that, then, she'll pull out a black marker and hold it up. ]
Now, once you've scooped all of it out, you draw whatever kind of face you wanna have on it and just... carve it out!
[ She'll point over at some of the completed examples that have just been placed out for them, showing the classic examples of what you'd see in a jack-o-lantern. Currently normal. ]

[Her marker instructions shake him out of his daydreams of pranking his bestie, and he plops the gunk down on the ground beside him before wiping his hand off on the grass, and then on his pants, as best he can.
He takes the marker and frowns at the pumpkin, thinking.]
I don't think I've ever drawn anything before. But I guess Skelly's face isn't all that complicated...
[He sets about drawing what looks like a sort of lopsided skull face on the pumpkin. It's not a great drawing, but it's honestly not that far off from Skelly's actual face.]

[ A very specific way to prank someone... but considering the season, it makes sense. It's even fitting, actually... and Yuzu can only give her condolences to whoever this 'Hypnos' person is. ]
Yeah, and it can be whatever you want. I'm still trying to decide on what I'll draw... but first I'll just get all this gunk out.
