It is another lively evening at Enchantment. The music is playing, the drinks are clinking, and the sounds of laughter and conversation can be heard all around.

The lighting is dim, but in the center of each room is an elegant chandelier, with glasses and plating that match the atmosphere, as well as small vases of yellow roses on tables. The seating is comfortable to ensure customers enjoy their stay.

Is your character looking to have a wonderful evening with food, drinks, karaoke and more? Have them stop by for a good time, and they will be served by one of the hosts!

[Rei is here to speak with Hifumi in particular, and doesn't especially care whose way he's getting in to achieve that. So while he's lounging on one of the entranceroom couches and waiting for the young entrepreneur to show up, maybe you mistake him for a mark YET-TO-BE-SERVED CLIENT? He certainly looks rich enough! He's already ordered more alcohol than one person can drink, besides.

Or, he's dressed so flashy that he looks like one of the hosts... if your taste in hosts skews older, at least.

[ Zhongli's more-so used to serving female clients, but seeing as they do have a female host, he sees no need to be confused about male clients. Even ones about the age of this gentleman. But no one seems to be with him? Well, he's been told its always courteous to check upon all clients when one isn't occupied, and so Zhongli decides to see how the man is doing. ]

Sir, if I may ask, are you in need of company?

[ It reeks of booze over here...... ]

(who knocked over my onions voice) YOU

Ah, Zhongli.

[Rei studied the host catalogue of course, but he remembers this man from way back in the Archivist's place as well. Not that he expects Zhongli to remember him-- Rei looked VERY different back then. 20 years different.]

Come sit, come sit. [He waves Zhongli over as if their roles are reversed, moving over on the couch.] Didn't think you were the type to host. You enjoy flirting that much?

[ He's not one to ignore a request nor is he really capable of doing so as a host, and so Zhongli gives a bow and proceeds to sit on the open space. Its a good thing he's used to Venti's drunken antics because the smell is even stronger here on the couch. There's cigarette smoke too. Oh well, he's an older gentleman, so he can't fault him his vices. ]

I do not believe I have very much skill in flirting. [ He hasn't flirted a day in his entire life. ] I simply have taken this occupation in order to offer companionship and conversation.

Hah! So that's what it's called, now. [Rei doesn't contest the point, though smiling over the lip of his drink.]

So tell me, then. [He fixes the man with a look of interest, giving him a once-over. It might be worhtwhile to speak to some employees, after all, to get a sense of what Hifumi is up to. And Zhongli is pretty easy on the eyes, besides.] Been at this gig long? How's it treat ya?

[As Hifumi looks around to make sure all guests are attended to, he sees a familiar face up ahead. Oho! It's been quite a while, that's for sure, and it certainly makes him happy to see a familiar face in his host club of all places.

Hifumi approaches Rei with a great big smile and a welcoming gesture.]

Ah, if it isn't Mr. Amayado! Welcome to Enchantment!

[He bows politely. Even though it looks like Rei is already enjoying alcohol, he looks like a man who can handle more.]

I am ever so pleased to see you here! Shall we have a drink and a toast to reconnecting?

There you are. [Good to see Hifumi's alcohol tolerance is in high gear as always. Rei raises a glass obligingly.] Sure, sure.

[champagne! champagne!]

You didn't have this little enterprise last time we spoke. Missed being Host Number One, did you?

[Yes, yes, Hifumi pops open a champagne bottle to poor a glass for Rei and himself, then sits next to him.

Hifumi laughs at Rei's question.]

It isn't about being the number one host. [he shakes his head.] It is simply something that I should be doing! That I enjoy doing... bringing smiles to others!

Something you should be doing, huh. This your version of noblesse oblige? [Har har.]

Well. I'll at least welcome you to the ranks of business ownership. [Rei downs his glass.] How've you found it, so far?

[ Sort of a big leap of job change, to go from being a God to a funeral parlor consultant to a host, but Zhongli is a person that knows how to adapt. Even if figuring out just what a host is and how to be one took him some time, yet Hifumi is a very adept teacher, and as far as Zhongli is concerned if this is just a matter of offering lots of company and talking, then he can certainly do that.

Whether you're checking the place out as a first-timer or you're a regular, Zhongli doesn't like to deviate from his usual greeting (mostly because he's still sort of figuring out what sorts of things to say as a host-host and not... himself) with a courteous taught bow and a smile. ]

Dearest patron, I welcome you to our establishment of Enchantment. May I inquire your name and how I may best serve you upon this day?

[ At the end of the night when all the magic of Enchantment has to take a break for closing hours, Zhongli is in no rush to return home. Considering the fact sometimes he doesn't even go home in the first place, he doesn't mind staying for idle chatter with the other workers, or taking a moment to freshen up from the food and drink enjoyed with the customers. Some of them are capable of ordering quite a bit, but spending time with someone like Barbatos and the other Archons makes it rather easy to hold his liquor.

Though, being human does have its limits. He does feel just a little woozy, but he's probably just tired, however when he catches sight of Childe he comes to see he doesn't seem to be faring as well as he is. ]

Childe, are you in need of water? You appear considerably flushed.

[Working in Enchantment might be one of the easiest jobs Childe's ever had - it's a far cry from his work as a Harbinger and admittedly there are some days where it's inconceivably dull, but...

It pays well, sometimes the clients have interesting stories to tell, and it gives him time during the day to keep his skills sharp and do things like quests and other odd jobs. Not the ideal job, but it helps.

Today starts the same as any other, though he might have had a bit too much to drink. He never really drank much before arriving in Camelot, honestly - a few shots of firewater here and there, but the way alcohol messed with his reaction times wasn't worth making himself seem more human to his recruits - so he hasn't had the time to build up a high tolerance. Still.

He's fine.]

You don't have to worry about me, Zhongli!

[He pats the seat next to him, apparently content to stay at the club for a bit longer before heading out.]

I'm not even that red, so you might want to get your eyes checked.

[He's quite rosy, actually. But he hasn't looked in a mirror, so it's fine.]

( she's coming here for curiosity's sake and the potential for business. a host club is the kind of place Kaika actors could work at, after all.

still, she's nervous. she hasn't been to a host club in a very long time, and certainly not by herself. and walking straight into the waiting bow of an incredibly attractive man (familiar... wait, she saw him at the Kaika fundraiser, talking to Taichi-kun)...

oh boy. deep breaths, Tachibana. it's just a role. no different to running lines with any of her actors, right? )

Izumi. ( habit returns the bow with one of her own, and as for what she wants, hm... )

This is my first time here. Can you, um, tell me a bit more about the hosts?

Stephanie (host!!)

[ As the only girl host in the place, Steph takes her job here very seriously. Which is to say, she doesn't take it seriously at all and behaves exactly like she does under any other circumstances. Her clothes are nicer and she wears earrings and makeup, but otherwise she's the same energetic, friendly blonde introducing herself to every new person she sees. ]

Hi! Welcome, make yourself comfortable.

[ She gestures for the guest to take a seat on one of the many couches in the place. ]

[Claire hadn't forgotten her agreement to visit the host club and see Stephanie. She'd just put it off a little, until she was more settled after Sherry's departure. That was the only reason, and it had nothing to do with the fact that she was almost certainly going to embarrass herself in front of her friend. Nothing at all. And maybe she just didn't have anything to wear? Except that wasn't true, either. She had something nice, just not something ladylike that'd arrived with her.

Eventually guilt at not following through, curiosity in seeing what this was all about, and (maybe) a little bit of acceptance in her inevitable self-embarrassment won out. Stepping through the door in what felt like a costume, she looks around and makes her way right over to Stephanie. Flashing a lopsided grin, she tries (and fails) not to stare, but the outfit is a little different than anything she's seen her friend in before. Is that makeup? she thinks, shaking her head.]

Why don't you pick out a spot for us, since you work here? Some place with a good view.

A view, huh...

[ Enchantment doesn't have much for traditional views, though there's plenty of eye candy. There just aren't any buildings in Camelot that are really tall, which Steph is still getting used to. She leads her friend to a sofa towards the front, with a window out onto the main street. It beats looking out into the alleys between buildings, and it's in the main (and therefor cheapest) room. Even when she isn't paying Steph always defaults to the lowest cost. Without a private room the eye candy is also freely available for sightseeing. ]

How about here, then?

[ She flops down on the sofa with some small modicum of restraint for the sake of appearance. She does try a little. ]

Lookin' good, by the way. I love the suspenders. [ Partly in that the outfit is hilarious, but partly because it's kind of adorable. ]

The stylist here has been talking about getting me a suit, but I talked her into waiting until it cools down.

[Steph's guess is right on the money. Claire had not meant a traditional view at all.]

[Claire settles down, tossing the hat onto the table and adjusting her tie a little self-consciously. It's not the first time she's worn something like this, but this place is a different vibe than she's used to and it makes her a little jittery. The American Midwest was devoid of anything quite like this, for sure, especially in the 90s.]

Yeah? It's...not my usual thing, but it showed up in my bags when I got here. Figured it was the closest thing to 'fancy' I own, and I didn't wanna embarrass you or anything.

[She snaps a suspender, wincing as it pops back against her skin. Not hiding it, she looks Steph up and down, whistling low on the register.]

Dresses suit you more than a monkey suit, I think. You look slick enough to stop traffic.

[ Steph laughs, only blushing a little. ]

Not likely. That's just the decor, it makes everything look snazzy. You should see the bar in full light, it's not nearly as impressive.

But guests don't have to worry about dressing up, you know. You're supposed to be here to relax.

Kazunari Miyoshi (host!)

[Being a host is a very, very new experience for Kazunari. Or is it. He’s hosted plenty of mixers before, partly the reason why he applied in the first place, but being a Host is entirely different. Despite that, he’s loving every minute of it.

Customers come to Enchantment to have a good time, forget their worries, drink and feel special. And if Kazunari is good at anything, it’s being a people pleaser. It’s so easy for him to talk to the people coming in, focus on them and give them everything they want. He just needs to watch how much he drinks so he doesn’t lose too much of his piko.

When he’s not sitting down with customers, Kazunari will be greeting newcomers.]

( dang boy, you wasted no time, huh? not that Izumi should expect anything else from him. still. it's a surprise that they'd end up running into each other when Izumi was scouting this place out for potential business transactions.

but maybe this will be helpful for her! but for now, he has a job to do, so what is her dream...? at least for the moment. )

Kazunari's just as surprised to see Izumi here, though. What is she doing at a host club of all places?]

Sure thing, Director-chan- or, er, dear guest~ [He flags down one of the wait staff for her beer and a glass of champagne for himself while getting them settled at one of the tables. He seats himself close to Izumi in a way that's intimate but hopefully not uncomfortable for her.] So what brings you here? I'm pretty sure we don't serve curry, hehe.

( well, this time Kaika actually has to pay its actors, so he'll also be getting some cash there! but nevertheless, go Kazunari, make bank. )

I... is that really all you think I go out for...?

( okay YES it happens a lot, but she does have a job to do here! )

I thought a host club might be a good place to make a business deal with. ( actors cafes and theatre restaurants are a thing, so is it really that much of a stretch? they've already signed the boys over to The Sketchiest Old Man In Avalon. maybe the host club owner is less, uh.

Like That. ) But I guess you beat me to the punch there.

( in realising that a lot of acting skills can be transferred to hosting, that is. )

[ It was worth noting that Kipposhi, while usually an active host who kept a steady flow of clients entertained and rarely even took breaks was... not doing that lately. To a pretty severe degree, actually. And while he still pretended to be his usual Demon King self when pressed, he really couldn't make it more obvious how much he wasn't feeling his work lately. Whether it was depression or something else, some kind of rain was pouring on the Demon King's parade.

Most of the time, he just stayed back in the dressing room, lounging on the couch and just staring at the ceiling. He'd gotten out a soda for himself, but he hadn't opened it, just letting it gather condensation on the coffee table. ]

Just lemme know if anyone asks for me specifically...

[ Steph is a pretty perceptive person in general, but you'd have to be blind not to notice that something is up with Kipposhi. She leaves him alone for a bit, figuring he'll talk to her about it if he wants to, but she's really starting to worry. So as soon as she has more than a couple of minutes to spare she comes to find him. ]

Hey. Are you okay? You've been kinda... listless.

A lack of energy, yanno. Guess I've been sleeping pretty badly.

[ He tries to manage a smirk but it comes off as half-hearted as his excuses. He's not that good at hiding this, which was mostly his own fault for projecting such a more... intense... persona otherwise. But he really didn't have the energy to put it on for anyone but the occasional request client... and he definitely knew he couldn't manage it for Steph. ]

[ Her frown only deepens. It's not even really an excuse, but just another worrying symptom. She hasn't known him that long, it's true, but she's never seen him like this. For a moment she stays quiet, trying to decide how to deal with him.

Finally she sighs, sitting next to him on the couch. She has to twist to really look at him, but there's not really a better seat available. ]

Look, it's fine if you don't want to talk about it. But I'm here, you know? If you change your mind, or if you want to spar, or get drunk, or blow stuff up or whatever.
