OTA | September Catch-All
🧙 WHO: Gokudera and YOU
⚔️️ WHAT: Birthday stuff/ Open and closed prompts/ Catch-all for September
🕒 WHEN: Throughout September
🗺️ WHERE: Various
⚠️ WARNINGS: foul language; mentions of murder; will update as necessary
A. A boy and his leopard
Gokudera doesn't let Uri out very often. For starters, the teenager does not have animal magic and can't tell when his weapon-turned-pet is feeling any sort of way. The young adult leopard is well-fed, growls a lot, and stalks about in his attic apartment, climbing the indoor tree, but he won't deny it freedom. He could put a leash on Uri, but that doesn't seem right. Maybe because he has a collar about his own neck, and this animal is not just some house cat. Uri is... or was an extension of his spirit. To have the Storm Leopard now just a leopard feels unfair. Their connection is lost, and he won't demand the creature stay inside.
Uri hesitates to leave the apartment at first when he welcomes the cat outside, but once he coaxes the cat out, it's staying close, hunkering down, and growling at anyone they pass.
He can be seen walking down the streets of New Camelot with the leopard sticking to his side. Once they are out on the training grounds, Gokudera is sitting down with the big cat, trying to talk with it.
"I hid some food out here for you earlier. You want to find it and take it home to your tree, or should we look for a new tree out here?"
The leopard licks at its paw and gives a rumbling purr before rolling about.
"Uri, you can nap when we get back home. You're supposed to have fun out here..." He pleads, looking apologetic. The leopard doesn't seem upset, though, and gets up before jumping at his back and pinning him down. It's licking at the back of his head, and he's letting out a muffled, distressed yell. That tongue is rough and his neck is sensitive. To anyone who knows anything about his problems with his collar, they can probably tell that this activity probably isn't pleasant for him.
B. Wild accusations | TL;DR Gokudera is accused of being a Selkie
[Gokudera is talking to a man at the Lake, and there seems to be an argument. It seems the boy is arguing that he saved a selkie woman and the man is accusing him of murdering a fisherman who had trapped her.
Aggravated, the boy throws his hands up and turns. He stares out at the water and then stops talking and just walks into the water, further and further in. A few bubbles rise to the surface, then abruptly stop. Five minutes, ten minutes, fifteen. The boy does not come up, there's no sign of him.
But the real Gokudera is looking for anything that may have been left behind by the selkie he and Yamamoto saved some months ago. The late fisherman's house seems in a state of disrepair, relatively vandalized, but still standing and sturdy.
He leaves carefully and quietly with a bag of fabrics, his old bloodied clothes he'd hidden from before. It'd be a sneaky escape, but the man he'd fooled turns and catches him. He's accusing Gokudera of all sorts of things, and then backing the boy into the water of the lake. Gokudera turns and dives in, swimming off as far as he can go until his familiar cloaks him.]
If I ever see you again, I'm taking your skin!
[Gokudera can hear that angered yell over the water and he can be found later on bobbing about in the water. Try to convince him to come out? Ask him what happened? Swim right up to him? The weather isn't cold enough for the water to be too unpleasant, and the angry man is leaving so maybe the boy will get out of the water. He's going to take out his device and ask for help.]
What should I do to prove I'm not a selkie?
[Feel free to put up your own prompt. Also! Prose/brackets are fine! I'll match whichever]

"When he turns to me, take your chance, Tenth!" Gokudera encourages, then glances about, as if searching for a health point bar above the boss.
no subject
He lets out another laugh and then uses the same charging move. It seems to be a set pattern.

Gokudera is trying an attempt at a charge attack, or a special. He isn't sure, but he has his own attack bar that he's maxed out, and just needs to use the right moves to execute it. There's a sort of vivid aura that surrounds him and he's striking with the tonfa, throwing the other, and water splashes about in the dish in his kappa head before he's holding both his weapons, striking a little pose, and saying gently "That'll teach you."
Huh.
It seems to have done more damage than most of his melee attacks.
no subject
There's another flurry of movements from Tsuna as he attempts to figure out how to unlock his.
"That was really cool!"
The boss, however, yells and seems to move a bit fast, clearly going into his last ditch effort mode.
no subject
Gokudera can’t say it felt good to land a hit like that, but it certainly looked cool and did a bigger chunk of damage than he’d anticipated.
“It has a charge! Yours may have to do with your weapon specifically!”
He’s moving over to Tsuna, blocking as many hits as he can and trying to encourage his boss to dodge.
“Try throwing it?” It felt like the game took over his movement for him, or played a little cut scene. Gokudera would try it again, but he has to let it build up. Maybe it’s more of a matter of how many combo hits in a row that land?
no subject
"Do I have to strike a pose to charge it, or is it all ready to go?"
Because he'll throw if he has to. For now, he just picks a stance that he hopes looks cool.
no subject
So he’s basically telling Tsuna to do what he feels will work. Gokuders’s never had a weapon like the one his boss is holding. Then again, he’s also never used tonfa. Not hard to hit something with a stick, though.
no subject
And as the stick connects, it does. There's a smooth series of spins and strikes that add up to a combo attack as Tsuna lands in an automatic pose. "That was nothing" says a little voice.
no subject
Maybe he shouldn’t have been jumping around.
After the hit, his avatar blinks a lower opacity, and allows him to roll past the boss and stand next to Tsuna, shield up despite the boss still tearing up the other end of the arena they are locked into.
no subject
"Are you okay, Gokudera-kun?"
He's got to have a healing item before they do a final attack.
no subject
Gokudera says and gives an assuring nod to his boss. His health is low, and the boss seems to be finishing up his attack at the other end of the arena, targeting them both since they are standing together.
“We’re gonna have to move.”
He’s not sure if their enemy is going to charge in a straight line, or if he’ll turn, and how wide his attack radius is.
no subject
He looks around the space. There should be enough room to them to flank the boss if they do this right. Or at least get away.
no subject
Gokudera is dusting himself off and watching for where his boss is going. If they split up and aim for the boss’s back together, they should be able to overwhelm him with damage.
no subject
Tsuna is pretty confident about this, and well, they've seen some special attacks already so there must be a combination one.
no subject
The boss turns on them now and readies a sweeping charged move. Gokudera is running aside, unable to call on his shields he’d typically use for his boss because this is just a game. Still, once he’s behind the boss, who’s trying to turn and hit him, he’s waiting for his boss to join him to try and time their attack together.
no subject
"Okay, now!" he shouts as the Boss begins its attack, and charges forward, quarter staff raised.
no subject
If that was a set combination attack, he’s unsure, but it feels like they did more than enough damage, surely!
no subject
They charge at the boss, picking up speed and going into a rapid attack pattern, before striking a final blow and posing with a "You can't stop us!" slogan of victory. The boss falls behind them, fading into items and experience.
"I guess that was all it took!"
no subject
“Great work!”
no subject
He holds up his hand for a high five.
"That last attack was pretty cool. I wonder if there's more we can do, with like, different weapons or something?"
no subject
“Maybe it depends on who lands the first hit in the combo move. If you rush a little ahead of me and it’s the same attack, we’ll know. I can always see about striking first, too. I bet there are so many cool motions the characters go through depends on weapons and attack execution order.”
no subject
There's still more game after all, and a chance for them to play around now that they've got the basics down.
no subject
They have the entire day to celebrate his birthday, and Gokudera is just happy to have his best friend’s company through it.
