Don't worry. If someone told me "Okay everyone, time to share poems!" out of the blue, I'd be pretty startled too, ahaha.

[ And she probably wouldn't react that well to it. Monika valued her individuality and uniqueness a lot, and someone getting in on her act... Well, she was very jealous and easily felt threatened. Not that she liked that aspect of herself. She knew how jealous she could get... And she hated it. She wished she could change, and she did, step by step.

She admired that in Minako. She was far more... "Open," for lack of a better word. She'd encouraged her to go on with her magical girl act, rather than try to push her away from it to protect her own uniqueness. That was really kind and sweet. ]

I really appreciate how open minded you are, regarding that. [She smiled.] I can only hope to make the true magical girl proud!

[reloves]

Oh, um..

[ For a moment she's startled into silence. Apparently Minako didn't quite see the compliment coming, and it's not really something anyone has ever told her before, so her brain needs a moment to process it.

But once it does, she smiles, though she shakes her head. ]

I don't think I'm doing anything all that special! Any friend would encourage another one to chase their dreams, you know? Even if their dreams happen to line up with.. um, well, your day job! [ Minako laughs. ]

Hmm, not every friend would, ahaha!

[ Time to reinforce the compliment! And that was important to her, too, as someone who had barely had any friends in her. Well, technically... ]

... I had a lot of friends back home. [After a fashion. Most of her memories prior to her epiphany weren't real, so those things had likely never happened. Those "friends" were just shadows planted by her creator.] But when I opened my Literature Club... None of them joined. They wouldn't even encourage me or offer help. They'd ask me for help with homeworks and assignment, they'd hang out because the script said I was "popular"... But I had really no friends. [She raised a finger.] Well, outside of the three people who ended up joining my club. The other "characters" from my game.

[ She'd never given her much detail on the game... But that wasn't the point here. ]

So what I mean is— Don't sell yourself short. True and good friends? They're a rarity, and you're most definitely one of them.

[ Minako thinks that there's a little bit more nuance to that, considering Monika's circumstances. It's not like she knows the exact details, but.. Monika may have been trapped in that game and aware of it, but she didn't make it sound like anyone else was. How intelligent were the other characters in that game? Could they even have made the decision to join a club?

.. she doesn't know. And she doesn't want to ask, because she doesn't want to force Monika to remember that painful situation for even a moment. So instead Minako's shoulders relax a little as she just tries to accept the compliment. ]

Well.. in that case, just know you can count on me. No matter what. [ Loyalty is something Minako prides herself in, after all. ] I mean, I'm even totally watching all of your videos, even though books and I are.. um, maybe not.. always the best combination..?

[ This is her trying to be tactful. Because books mean a lot to Monika, even if Minako is so not a reader. ]

But I just like watching you talk about them anyway! If I'm being a good friend to you, it's also just because you're worth it.

[ She watched her videos? That surprised her, more so seeing how she admitted to not being that big on literature. Well, literature did take many forms. Hopefully if she kept watching, she'd have her attention drawn by some genre or format she'd never heard of before. Speaking of genre. ]

I'm going to do the episode on romances next month, and I'll need help from a specialist. [She winked at her.] It may be a good time to launch your own social media if you make one.

[ Maybe that she encouraged her to get into social media was proof she had become better at not being jealous... With that asides, she smiled genuinely at her and tilted her head to the side. ]

Thank you. For everything. [She paused for a moment.] I'll try to be as good of a friend to you, too.

[reloves]

[ Her jaw drops a little. ]

Next month already?!

[ Oh gosh, that means she has to be prepared. Time for Minako to carry out some Intense Last-Minute Figuring Out How To Set Up This Stuff action this month, clearly. ]

No way, that means I need to hurry up! I just have to be part of your romance month!

[peninhand]

Y-Yeah, ahaha! [She laughed awkwardly.] I was too impatient and couldn't wait till February...

[ Normally she should have gone with horror, but she needed a serious break from bad stuff for the time being. She didn't have the patience to wait five months to speak of her favorite genre. ]

If you really can't make it, I can delay no worries! You shouldn't rush that.

Don't worry!

[ Please, in Minako's world there exists no such thing as 'not being able to make it.' She will make it, one way or another. No matter what she has to do. ]

I'll have it all figured out before then! Just give me a little bit of time! [ She just can't miss out on the important romance month of Monika's videos. ]

Hmm, alright but take it easy!

[ She didn't want her to push herself too hard, she didn't mind delaying... But she felt nothing she could say would change her mind. She really wondered what kind of influencer she'd become. ]
