003 - Mind yo business, David!
🧙 WHO: Eclair and YOU!
⚔️️ WHAT: Eclair visits Character Owned Businesses!
🕒 WHEN: Various times throughout September, before any event.
🗺️ WHERE: Various locations.
⚠️ WARNINGS: None.
All throughout August, Eclair had been doing nothing but helping out and working. She was there at Mukuro's summer fashion show putting on clothes, and helping out with stage set-ups at Kaika Theater during the first days of this month. She trains her magic daily at the Red Spring training grounds, healing herself or using it to bump up her physical attributes as she attended to her excitable familiar. So a whole month of work earned her some time to play, and some money to spend!
Her goal is to try some new restaurants, search for new hobbies, and probably get something made for herself.
( OOC: There's open top-levels for each business Eclair is visiting in the comment section! But if yours isn't there but want her to visit your characters' business, or their business normally wouldn't attract new visitors, let me know and we can plot something out! Also doing some closed starters for those who prefer a custom made one for their characters )

Enchantment
She has money to spare and wants the best experience probable, so she booked a suite room and didn't mind whoever the host they send her way is. She sits alone in the suite with her hands on her lap and eyes wandering impatiently, before settling to observe the variety of drinks placed in front of her. She picks a bottle to read it's label, only looking up when she first hears her host's voice. She puts the bottle back before adjusting herself on the couch, tucking hair behind her ears and smiling sheepishly ]
Oh! Good evening, you must be...?
no subject
Stephanie.
[ She slides into an adjacent chair and pours a glass of wine. Being the only girl working here Steph doesn't have much of a following yet, so naturally she was the first host available when a customer with no preference arrived. ]
Just 'Steph' is fine. Something to drink?
[ She offers the wine to her customer first, but if Eclair doesn't want it she'll take a sip herself. ]
no subject
Thank you, Steph. You can call me Eclair. It's a pleasure.
[ She takes a sip and hums, noting the taste and feeling grateful to have been installed with that sense, among others that humans have. ]
I like this taste. I suppose that is why humans find it so alluring...?
no subject
[ She doesn't put on too much of an act at work, mostly because she's not very good at it, but a little flattery and extra courtesy isn't hard. She pours a second glass for herself and sits back to enjoy it. ]
That's one of the reasons. Have you tried much alcohol?
[ Clearly not human, so there's no telling if she's able to drunk or not. Or even if she knows what alcohol is supposed to do to a person. ]
no subject
[ She says it so casually, but it was rather normal in her world. She chuckles, continuing on: ]
And the person I was with can't hold their alcohol, so I don't see them having any drinks on board our ship.
no subject
Well, it's also very relaxing. Usually. [ She's had bad experiences with alcoholics, she's not going to sugarcoat it. ]
Wine is one of the less alcoholic drinks, though. It's easier to enjoy without getting blackout drunk.
no subject
[ With that said, she turns the subject around. With a tilt of her head her smile looks a bit puzzled ]
Which I can tell doesn't surprise you. I can only guess as to why, perhaps you've been in this world long enough? Or you're from a world like my own where androids are commonplace?
no subject
No, we haven't really figured that out yet. But I guess my world is pretty strange. I was telling someone about the mind-controlling starfish aliens that invaded once, and apparently an invasion of any kind is considered unusual!
[ She says it in that dramatic, "who'd have thunk?" sort of way. The starfish were before she was born, but she's lived through a lot more apocalypses than should technically be possible. ]
Forge Ahead
She arrives at the forge with the sword in a cheap golf bag, looking around the vicinity for anyone to greet and ask. She gives a small bow to the first person she sees ]
Hello. You don't happen to be working here or be first in line, are you?
no subject
Hm, maybe a bit more like...huh? Oh, hey! It's good to see you again.
[She'll just be going over, instinctively giving a little bow in turn.]
I work here, yeah- I'm more PR than anything else though, you know? How can I help?
no subject
I'm glad to see you too. I'm here to hopefully commission something for my weapons, but I can come back at a later time if the master of the forge isn't here?
[ Eclair takes the golf bag off of her shoulder, with the black crystalline hilt of her longsword poking out from the end of it, and a knife's handle can be seen from one of the side pockets. With the way she's dressed and how she carries herself, it's easy for people to think Eclair isn't a fighter at all. ]
no subject
[Eclair certainly didn't have the appearance of a fighter- but then again, neither did she. A sword, probably, and a knife?]
Darin shouldn't be too long, he just had to nip out to grab a few things- he should be back soon if you wanna hang around and chat for a bit.
no subject
[ Eclair puts the bag on the nearest surface, taking the sword out carefully and placing it gently on top of the bag. The black crystalline appearance of the sword with the bright gold etching makes it look unused and freshly forged with it's lack of blemishes. She also draws the knife with a little flair and a twirl, showing off the serrated and textured blade that's sure to leave some nasty damage on the unlucky foe. Eclair did the same and placed it gently on the surface for Mukuro to look at and touch ]
Here they are, hopefully they make for fine conversation starters.
no subject
[For now, she focused on looking over the two weapons as they were laid out- the black sword was certainly unusual, and she couldn't help but wonder if it was magical back in her world?
But there was a definitely a gleam in her eyes as she looked over that knife, immediately recognising the damage it could cause.
Even so, she didn't want to just grab them without explicit permission.]
no subject
[Darin had been busy polishing up a gleaming longsword when Eclair walked in. He sets it carefully down on a bracket to keep it off the bench and walks over to greet her.]
What can I do for you?
no subject
I wanted to ask if you can make scabbards for two weapons. I've been using this golf bag for over a month now, and it's become too awkward to use. The sword keeps rattling and bouncing in the bag, and there have been many holes on the bottom from the point scratching and poking at it.
[ She takes the sword out, holding the blade with the back of her hand so her fingertips won't stain the blade. Not that she would do that, lacking sweat glands and everything, but it's something she's mimicked from humans ]
What do you think? Name the price.
no subject
Whoa! Where in the world did you get something like that!
[His expertly scan the blade and while he wants to take it into his hands, he certainly knows better. He has to ask first!]
May I? Would you mind?
no subject
Actually, it's not mine but my human companion's. I just happened to wield it when I was summoned to this world.
[ She givez him a moment ]
Said to have been forged with the heat of dying stars, it's made from the folded fabric of space itself, containing energies from a dark dimension. Hehe, of course I can't attest to the truth of that claim nor demonstrate it's powers. But it's an interesting legend, don't you think?
[ The same energies contained within the sword are what powers her now. Until Avalon switched it up and used that power for itself, giving Eclair a different power source of their own magic. ]
no subject
'Said?' 'Folded from the fabric of—' ... Okay that's...the master smith in me wants to challenge the hell out of that explanation!
It is definitely one hell of a story, though...and you want a proper sheathe for it?
no subject
[ She nods to confirm, almost bowing with impeccable grace. ]
It would just make going on quests far easier in the future if I can carry it on my hip. I intend to participate in them more, supporting others in the field as a healer and a combatant.
[ She doesn't look the least bit combat capable. But looks can be deceiving ]
no subject
So, on that note, do you have any stylistic preferences? You're the one wielding it, after all.
[He sets the blade down so he can begin taking proper measurements.]
You're a healer too, eh? At first I didn't think it was a very versatile school of magic, but now, I'm actually kinda glad I got stuck with it.
Fortune Panda, Magnolia Café
Fortune Panda caught her attention upon hearing about it. Chinese food is one of her friend's favorites, so she's programmed with Chinese cuisine knowledge that she wants to compare and contrast with this place's menu, and hopefully learn something new to surprise Sofia when she returns.
Magnolia Cafe on the other hand, is just plain adorable. While Sofia liked tea, this particular place was more for Eclair's own enjoyment. She's into baked goods and sweets, thinking they look pretty and wants to make some. It's one of her culinary limits so far, and she wants to learn more about it by tasting some cute pastries.
Eclair arrives at each place, picking a table for more than one person, asking for the menu. She looks around and wonders out loud ]
Are familiars allowed inside?
[ Before taking this food trip, Eclair invited some people she knew, from friends to acquaintances, willing to pay for their meal as well. ]
