⚔️️ WHAT: After the Animal Mage Hunt last month, Della is throwing a small shindig to help them all relax. Food, games, face paint, and awkward questions for everyone. You don't have to be an animal mage/animal person to come, everyone's invited!

Delightful Decorations
Do you miss your ears and tail from the temporary spell the month before? There’s a box to slightly cure that! It’s filled with fake animal decorations including cat-ear headbands, fluffy fox tails to clip on your pants, feathery wings to hang on your shoulders, and so on. If you’re feeling a bit more colorfully creative, there’s also face paint! Pick a partner to practice on!

Food Festivities
What’s a party without grub? There’s a big wooden table surrounded by little wooden chairs so you can get your snack on. In keeping with the theme, there are cookies shaped like cat-heads, sandwiches cut to resemble webbed duck feet, and plenty of veggie platters for those who feel they can’t eat what they resembled for a while. At least the tea is normal. Feel free for your character to have brought along their own food to share as well!

Games Galore
Why sit around when you can get some exercise? The easy to play Pin The Tail On The Griffin, where you’re blindfolded and have to pin the tail on the paper griffin on a tree… and hopefully no one else. Or make Tag way more exciting by trying to grab one of the fake tails from earlier off of your friend’s butt! Since you’re in the woods, there’s also a contest to see who can climb trees the fastest! The prize is bragging rights. And maybe a cupcake.

AMA - Animal Edition
Let’s face it -when you’re surrounded by all kinds of new species, you get curious. Here’s your chance to clear the air and learn something new – there’s a big red chair with a label on the back – ASK ME ANYTHING. Anyone who sits in it is volunteering to answer whatever is asked of them. Of course, there’s no guarantee it’ll be the truth… you trolls know who you are.

As a reminder, according to our lovely locations page, “It is cautioned against magic in these woods, as the mystical forces within tend to interfere and cause them to go awry.” We definitely wouldn’t want that happening, wink wink nudge nudge.

A. Food Festivities
[Robyn's relieved that the whole animal hunting mage fiasco is resolved. Luckily she'd found somewhere safer to stay until the whole thing blew over, but she already knows what it's like to be hunted down and she'd rather not go through with that again.

For her part, she's brought some chocolate chip cookies to share. They're a little misshapen since this is her first time making them, but they taste pretty good otherwise, as she confirms when taking a bite of one.]

I'm glad chocolate is so easy to get here. You couldn't buy it anywhere I lived back home.

B. Games Galore
[Games like these may seem kind of overplayed to most people, but Robyn is still young enough to enjoy them. She seems especially enthusiastic about the tree climbing race, since she's always felt at home in the woods.]

I'm pretty used to climbin' trees. Think you can beat me?

[This feels a little awkward, but if it's part of the celebration Robyn may as well take part. She sits in the chair, looking a little embarrassed.]

(The appearance doesn’t matter too much as long as they taste good. Harry is still happy that Robyn is able to learn to make the chocolate chip cookies on her first try and her biting onto one is more than enough to convince him to take one as well.

Taking a huge bite of his cookie, he soon finds himself enjoying it a lot that he is pretty impressed.)

Oh wow, these really taste good, Robyn. I bet that one of my friends’ Mum will be happy to try them out if she is also here with us.

Thanks. I've been stayin' with me friend Makoto while...well, while all that was goin' on, and I've been helpin' her with bakin'. I wanted to try makin' these on me own, though.

[She does have experience with cooking and baking, though it's taken her a while to enjoy it for its own sake rather than associating it with scullery work.]

Wow, that’s really great. She must be a really brilliant baker and a really good teacher as well.

(He takes another bite of the cookie and happily munches on it before swallowing it up. Rose is currently snuggling up inside his jacket pocket while Hedwig is taking a nap on a nearby bench.)

I am pretty sure that she would be proud of you for baking them on your own. Did she try them out when you finished baking them?

She's really good at it! She's good with tea, too. I think she works at that teahouse...Magnolia Cafe.

She liked these ones, but...well, the batch before that didn't turn out so well.

[These ones turned out okay, but the ones before those ended up burning. Robyn's still getting the hang of using a more modern oven.]

Oh wow, that sounds like a very nice place to visit. Maybe one day I can pay them a visit.

(He will be definitely checking that out someday when he has the free time to spare.)

It’s definitely okay: anyone can burn stuff in the oven sometimes. I had to deal with baking my brownies in just one oven for a few days. While none of them got burned, it was tricky to bake large batches of brownies with the space I live in currently.

The ovens are different here. You don't need to light a fire to make them work, and there are all these dials and buttons on them...

[Still, at least they're easier to maintain, even if she still finds them a bit confusing.]

[ Minako probably ought to be more humble. Sure, it's not like she's never climbed into a tree before, but it's sure not been as regular of an occurence as this other person makes it sound..

But then again, Minako wouldn't be Minako without the ridiculous outward overconfidence, right? ]

Hah, I've been climbing things way taller than a tree! I think I can manage!

You mean like buildings?

[In Robyn's time, architecture has yet to advance enough that buildings can be taller than trees, so she's having a hard time picturing that.]

I've still climbed some pretty tall trees back home.

Yeah, exactly! Whole buildings! [ At least it's not a total lie.. she's done some wild things as Sailor V back in the day.

But it has been a while. And she doesn't have the same magic to fall back on here as she did back there.. ]

So.. you know, I think I'll be pretty good competition!

[Robyn looks around for a moment before spotting an old and very tall oak tree. If Minako is as good as she says, climbing that shouldn't be too much trouble for either of them.]

[ .. It's a little taller than she expected, that's for sure. She did climb that fruit tree the other day to shake some of it down, but it wasn't nearly as big as this one..

But.. whatever! She can't back down now, right?! She'll just have to do it! ]

[Despite the light teasing, it does help to ease Robyn into this whole thing, since her smile isn't quite as sheepish.]

I suppose so. I'm glad we can celebrate that the whole thing with the animal mages bein' hunted is over.

Good to hear! Now, onto the tough stuff!

... Do you guys get cold super easily? Since you don't have any fur or feathers?

We can, I suppose. It's not so bad in spring and summer because it's warmer, but in autumn and winter we have to wear more clothes to keep from gettin' too cold. Back home, Father and I would always keep the fireplace goin' in our house to keep warm in the winter, too.

[Though Robyn does know what it's like to have fur since she became a Wolfwalker. She has to admit it's pretty good for keeping warm.]

Huh! Makes sense. I get chilly just looking at you guys.

Do you guys have tails? Or are they just so tiny we can't see them?

Er...no, we don't. At least, I know I don't. I do have a tail when I'm a wolf, though.

[Robyn's found that tails can be pretty useful for things like keeping balance. It makes her wonder sometimes why humans don't have tails themselves.]

Really? Why's that?

Too expensive and hard to get. It was really only rich people who could get chocolate. And they'd drink it instead of eatin' it.

[But here, anyone can buy it. That's one of the perks of being here, at least.]

Oh, one of those rich luxuries, huh? That's a shame. I'm glad you're able to get chocolate here, though.

There are a lot of different foods here that I've never even heard of before! It's fun gettin' to try them all.

[And having the freedom to do so in the first place.]

Yeah, it's great trying new things! What's been your favorite food you've tried here so far?

Well, pasta is pretty good. I had trouble eatin' it at first because it's so slippery, but I think I'm gettin' better at it. And it looks like there are lots of different ways to cook with it.
