Homura September Catch All
🧙 WHO: Homura and YOU
⚔️️ WHAT: Teaching, Training, Meditation, Relaxing, and Saving a Familiar
🕒 WHEN: All of September
🗺️ WHERE: Various places
⚠️ WARNINGS: possible blood, violence, swearing, things on fire, and whatever else Homura brings to the table.
[ooc: Feel free to contact me if you wanted something more specific; I do wanna do more quests, but I'm still feeling drained this month so just went with these ideas for now.]
1. Training (Elemental users only):
For those she agreed to teach fire elemental magic, she was doing something a bit different with it today. Mainly she had a bag full of potatoes and handed it to the trainee.
“Anyone with half a brain can make fire and lots of it. You’re gonna concentrate on cooking with it before we do anything more fancy.”
Hey, she had to do something with the extra potatoes from that spell.
2. Training Self:
Her training this time was less frantic than one expected. Usually she focused on high speed movement, and utilizing her elemental abilities with it. Now though, more about concentration. So she stood there in front of an armored training doll, using just one sword, eyes closed as electricity sometimes sparked. The idea was to use the magic to create a strong cut while also minimizing the usage. Combine that with the concentration of needing to keep the lightning in one spot, and the technique was far from easy. One could even see some of the armor bits having dents and cuts.
Once more she swung, eyes opening as she did so, blade suddenly slashing right through the armored doll. Silence hung in the air for a few seconds, Homura briefly wondering if it was a fluke. The doll suddenly falling backwards dispelled such fears though, and she smirked. Seemed like that would have been it, but nope, she was already dragging another armored doll in place of it.
3. Unicorns and Meditation
Truthfully, Homura hadn’t even taken on the dark quest. She was just searching for a quiet place to start up her meditation again. Seemed to be going well, all until she felt a presence. At first, she thought it was some random person, but cracking her eyes open, she saw the unicorn. Even to her, seeing fantastical and terrifying creatures, this was definitely new. Seemed hesitant in moving, leaving the ninja enough time to pull a certain little book hidden in her shirt and read the info. They didn’t seem bloodthirsty or violent, and she definitely took note of the one underlined thing: “Do not kill, ever. Cursed Blood.”
Yet as she did so, the animal had sneakily moved next to her, putting its head on her lap. Naturally, she panicked a bit, arms raised and unsure what to make of this. Okay, they did like virgins, but...well this was kind of embarrassing. Though as it seemed to shift and look up at her, she sighed heavily, petting its head. Damn thing was too cute to refuse, and not like anyone else was around. Well, this had to be a dream come true for one or two of her teammates at the very least, and an animal wasn’t the same as a person.
“Fine fine! Just this once...Lucky you’re cute.”
And there she goes, peacefully meditating with an animal by her side, concentration lost when the animal wanted to be pet. Do you dare approach?
4. Fizzy Lifting Bar
Curiosity once again got the better of the shinobi. Needing to find more places to relax, or at least claim she relaxed to get certain people off her back, she decided to check the place out. Just a few moments later, she was casually floating in the air, arms behind her head and blowing a few bubbles out of her mouth. She was already used to being in the air thanks to home, forced to dash and glide to avoid and strike her foes. So relaxing seemed like the easiest thing to do to pass some time.
Unfortunately, she was still unaware of the whole “compelled to tell the truth” side effect. Do you dare approach?
5. Giant Bats
Homura is hardly surprised anymore. Giant Bats? Well, that wasn’t something too uncommon. She was just settling in for another fight until she noticed her snake familiar was gone. Turns out the bats took it away and well...one will notice the angry shinobi with two swords slicing her way through the bats, clipping their wings and leaving large cuts as she tried to make her way to the main thief. One might think she was a natural at flying.
She’d be impressed with herself if not for all the unyielding rage.
“GIVE ME BACK TSUMUJI!” she shouted, still flying like a madwoman to get her friend back. Oh she knew they weren't gonna stop. If anything, they just kept throwing themselves at her, hoping numbers would work.

Nightmare healing - locked to Monika
Didn't really matter with how tired she was though.]

Thus why, nearly on instinct, she had sneaked in Homura's tent in the midst of the night and snuggled up against her. She hadn't really done it consciously, it'd be more of an unconscious need. But it was warm and comforting, to not be alone. Now she felt she would be able to fall asleep again...! ]

Eyes slowly opened, being cautious. An enemy? Certainly the best time to attack her. Though that seemed far from the case as she recognized the hair, that body type--]
MONIKA, WHAT THE HELL!?
[So much for that inside voice. At the sight and feel of a friend just...cuddling up to her like this, she couldn't help it, the deadly shinobi's face lighting up quite brightly.]
no subject
H-huh...? [Oh right, it came back to her, vaguely so. She'd instinctively gone for the closest human presence after her nightmare. It still felt like a dream, but obviously she'd done that, huh. It felt like some cheap comedic scene in a comic or cartoon.] Oh, um, I-I'm sorry...
[ Oh gosh, that was embarrassing. What had she been thinking?! Well, it was more akin to sleep walking than a conscious decision, but still... ]
I got woken up by a nightmare and I think I... [She pushed herself away, obviously just as embarrassed.] I'm so sorry, I'll go back to my tent!
no subject
I want a better story than that. Just what the hell brought this on exactly?
no subject
[ Monika felt too tired to explain, but she couldn't really escape it, could she? ]
They had special video games that absorb the player inside of them. I got accidentally sucked into one... [She looked away.] I... I have a lot more nightmares about the stuff I told you about last time ever since then.
[ More than nightmares really, she felt like she was breaking down day after day. But that was her problem, she wasn't going to burden anyone with that. ]
no subject
[Right, Monika's story. Being suddenly sucked back in there had to be traumatic, like rising from the ocean for some air, before being dragged right back down into the darkness. Could hardly imagine the other trauma the girl still had.]
How bad are they exactly? Did sleeping near me of all things really help?
[It was hard to tell. Homura never recalled sleeping near her real mother as a kid, and doubted she did so out of love. Being near Caster though was different, even if she didn't sleep, she still felt comforted when hugging her adoptive mother.]
no subject
[ She shook her head. ]
I'll go back to my tent. I'm sorry, I don't know what went through me.
no subject
[Goddamn it, what was she doing? Homura did feel bad for Monika, she really did. But...what was she reasonably gonna accomplish? Fighting, encouraging and teaching others to punch their problems away, even killing. Not...not this kind of comfort.
However...well she did try. Getting Hikage to laugh, helping Mirai find strength, aiding Caster in her grief....some of it went beyond battle. Leaving Monika like this felt wrong.
...Fuck it. Not like she was bursting with energy today to stay awake throughout the night.]
Look, I don't usually offer this, but uh--[Fairly obvious with the blush still on her face.] Just don't grope me like some pervs I know and you can stay here.
no subject
[ She could see perhaps Sayori doing it briefly as a joke, but that wasn't her style. She just didn't want to feel alone. That was literally all there was to her presence here. But she still realized how it looked, so... ]
Are you sure?
no subject
And Homura could hardly forget the haunting words of that mirror. She took a deep breath and nodded, ignoring her reddened face.]
I'm already too tired for another outburst anyway. Plus...I dunno. Guess I'm used to doing crazy stuff for friends.
no subject
[ Monika was really thankful. She had really not wanted to go back to the loneliness of her tent right now, especially not carrying the guilt to have bothered Homura because of her stupid affectionate needs. So with that said, she went back in the position she had been mere moments ago, snuggling up close and closing her eyes. She was most definitely not groping or doing anything weird, if anything it felt more like she sought closeness and protection. ]
no subject
You do this again though, I'm charging ya.
[Maybe not too much. Maybe not at all. Depends on the situation. For now, she'll at least try to help protect a friend, even if this was something no punch or slash could fix.]
no subject
I'll keep it in mind, ahaha...! [She then sighed peacefully.] Good night...
no subject
[Still felt so strange. Even with her half-joke and fatigue, Homura had yet to drift to sleep. Still so awkward, having someone this close. Yet she was sleeping just fine earlier till she realized Monika was here. Her breathing was slow, yet Monika might be able to hear the rapidly beating heart of the shinobi.
Slowly, she would close her eyes, sighing as she tried to sleep. If nothing else, her fatigue would get the better of her.]
