[Shearing sheep...that takes him back and although it's been a while he heads over. Even if he can't, he can at least use his magic to try and help keep them calm. So for shearers, Eustace can assist some of the nervous sheep, quietly speaking to them and stroking their heads to keep them calm. And he'll also give some advice.]
You need to get all the way down to the skin and be quick about it, so don't hesitate. Be firm or it'll just come out jagged and you'll have to do it over. The faster you are the, less time they'll be like this and remain stressed.
And watch its right side—seems like it's more sensitive there. Could be a skin irritation, but we can treat it after it's been sheared.
[He'll call out any other such problematic spots a sheep might have. Sensitive leg, ticklish belly, don't be too rough, don't be too gentle—being able to hear and understand the sheep certainly has its benefits.]

Having recovered from his injuries from last month, Eustace will take this as a prime opportunity to "warm up" and get back into it. Although there had been no deaths, it's clear the guy is being too reckless. Except with him sticking to the rooftops in the late evenings and around the places the incidents have occurred, it wouldn't be too unusual for him to be momentarily be mistaken. Especially when he's always wearing his own cloak.]

⊗ c: tdm - the fighting badass
[Zombies and undead... Well he's used to fighting them, but carrying back their remains? Not the most pleasant thing, but a job's a job and it's something he can do. He needs the exercise, anyway.
1. Combat. Although he'll plan on going solo, he won't helping anyone who is also dealing with the zombies. And wouldn't you know, lightning is fairly effective against them. Not wanting to push himself too, he's setting himself on a high point and sniping down the zombies, shooting lightning down immobilize and down them. Should he have someone that's more close combat, he'll be careful with his shots and let them finish it off.
2. Night watch. For the journey back, Eustace will be definitely guarded and alert on the captured remains. If camping out with someone, he'll secure the bags or boxes used to hold them and eye them warily.]
It would be better if there was some kind of sealing magic... Go ahead and sleep, I'll keep watch.

[Considered the Take to the Skiesish prompts but he'd need some convincing to drink the vials. Should anyone want to take that up, I'll be game for any of the other prompts (flying, catching stars, giant bats). If interested in anything else not included here, just hit me up on
laenavesse or discord and we can work something out!]

...Apple...
The guy is also speaking very nicely and seems...kind? Friendly? Can the sheep trust it...
There's a bit of a shy, wary bleat, but the apple and Lyon's goodnatured personality is winning out. Slowly it starts trembling and reaches out to sniff the apple.
Sniff, sniff, is it really okay to eat it? This guy won't suddenly throw it in its face or something will he???
Sensing the unease, Eustace looks at the sheep before addressing Lyon.]
It's coming around... Just hold the apple flat in your hand so it can eat it.
no subject
But Lyon does as he's told, flattening his hands as much as he can without allowing the apple to fall out, and then he stays very, very still.]
It's for you, if you want it.
[Very still. No sudden movements that would spook the sheep further. He just stands there, patiently.]
no subject
Well done. I'll take it from here and you can try healing it again.
[After the sheep takes another bite, Eustace will reach out to take the remaining part to free Lyon.]
no subject
Everything's okay. The sheep is happy and not scared anymore, nothing is on fire, nothing is ruined, everything is okay. We can stay like this for a few minutes until everyone is sufficiently calm, and then go back to the shears and try that without going anywhere near the sore spot, that works as a plan.
...At the suggestion that he try healing it again, though, Lyon seems a little surprised, for a moment, before he sort of withdraws a little bit inwards. He won't resist the apple being taken from his hand, but...]
Is that... really okay? I don't want to scare it again.
[It's his attempt at healing magic that caused this in the first place, after all.]
no subject
However if you'd rather continue with the shearing, then you can do so. Just be careful of the area.
no subject
He does want to help the sheep. He doesn't want to scare it again, but he has the ability to heal it, so... if there's a chance he can be of help, he does want to take it.
(It is his nature, to consider what magic he has at his disposal and to use it, rather than not.)]
...If that's the case, then... Perhaps if I move back a little first?
[And Lyon does so, taking a couple steps back to put some distance between himself and the sheep, enough that he's a few arms' lengths away. Far enough away that anyone could see that he definitely wouldn't be able to lunge at it quickly even if he had the physical ability to.
Then he turns to address the sheep -]
Is it all right if I show you from here? It won't hurt you, I promise.
[- before he brings his hand up in front of him (nonthreateningly, not in a way that reaches out toward the sheep) and concentrates, gathering the wispy purple aura around it once more.
And then he stands still, and watches the sheep's reaction, ready to stop at a moment's notice.]
no subject
It's that weird purple thing!!!
At first it starts to panic and bleats, but then realizes it's...not doing anything? Eustace is also keeping a steady hand on it, murmuring words of reassurance and even trying to explain it.]
It won't hurt you—it's just healing magic. If you let him use it, you won't feel sore anymore.
[Understanding the words, the sheep looks at Eustace with a "Really?" face before looking back at Lyon.
It's...uncertain, but slowly it reaches out as if to try and sniff the magic.
And then it just closes its eyes shut as if bracing itself. Sensing its feelings, Eustace can't help but let out a small laugh before looking at Lyon.]
It's still skeptical, but it's going to trust you. Go ahead and heal it.
no subject
But then the sheep... doesn't quite relax but allows it? And Lyon is given the go-ahead. So he gives a small nod.]
O-Okay.
[He approaches the sheep - no sudden movements, nothing too quick, but calmly, gently - and kneels down to get a better view of the sore area.]
This is to help you feel better. I hope that's okay.
[And then - no sudden movements - he brings his hand and the glowing purple energy up close to the sheep's side. He tries not to quite touch it, instead letting the energy radiate from his hand, but he focuses on getting it to settle in the sore area and help soothe it.]
no subject
There's a very cautious bleat and soon it feels the soreness fading away. At that it wags its nub of a tail a bit.]
Looks like it worked. Keep this up and there shouldn't be any further problems.
no subject
He did it, he did something helpful. (Even if it almost ended very badly.) He healed the sheep, everything is okay.
To the sheep, he smiles a little, though he doesn't quite dare to reach out to pet it.]
That feels better, right?
[And then, to Eustace.]
Thank you. Without your help, this likely wouldn't have ended very well...
no subject
It feels...better?
There's a cautious bleat as it sniffs what used to be the sore area, even giving it a small lick. But feeling that it really is no longer hurting, it gives a more happy bleat and looks at Lyon. Then...a little shyly it reaches out to bump its nose against Lyon's hand.
Congratulations, Lyon has been accepted by the sheep.
Eustace grins a little as he watches.]
I only helped keep it calm, but you also put in your own effort. Good work.
