A Day in the Life of an Avatar [OPEN!]
WHO: Aang and You!
⚔️️ WHAT: Things!
🕒 WHEN: Daylight!
🗺️ WHERE: Places!
⚠️ WARNINGS: None, Aang is just being Aang.
Aang...wandered.
It had started out as just a consequence of being in a new place; somewhere he could explore, at a leisurely sort of pace, and discover new things. It had turned into something more akin to a passion.
This place was filled with heroes - it did not need an Avatar.
So he explored - places, and people. He subsisted as something like an odd-jobs man. He helped out various business in the market place, for instance. A bit of repair work, cleaning, organizing - whatever they needed. He particularly enjoyed sweeping. There was something beautiful to such an act, a calm repetition and carrying out of purpose. It wasn't destructive, and it improved. That was more than enough for him.
He could often be found, calmly sweeping, in any number of places.
He tried his hand at carpentry, too, working on various job sites - wherever would take him, really. It was making something that he enjoyed; creating something with his hands and honest sweat - no violence, no destruction.
His friends had their own tasks and so he was...left to his own devices, really. Not all of it was fantastic; he missed the time he'd used to spend around Katara dearly, and made the most out of what time he could - Sokka, too, and Zuko.
There were also classes, which he found fascinating. He wasn't the most punctual student, of course - being the sort to stop and observe a religious ceremony for an hour on the way to classes. But he loved some of them. Every cultural offering he could find, he tried to observe or participate in it. Some people invited him to learn their native dances, and that was, perhaps, the sweetest thing of all.
He did practice his magic, and his progress - especially with air - had been prodigious; but he used it to amuse children mostly, telling stories to those who gathered about his world, illustrating it by making small clouds. Though he had to admit - the now Labrador-sized Appa was the real star of those shows.
Come the evenings, he could be found meditating in open fields, or on rocks - breathing in the freedom of thousands of cultures, and the peace that brought him.
So went the days of Aang - once the Avatar, now very happily just Aang.

She stops - at a distance from where Aang is with the kids, but she's watching all the same. Watching as the kids laugh, as the boy seems to somehow conjure tiny clouds out of nowhere. (But then again, is the latter really that surprising when everyone in this place has magic, when it's not as much of a secret thing here as it was back home?)
It's enough to keep her watching, though. All the way until the story is done and the kids disperse, ready to play some game or another. It's then that Minako slowly approaches the boy who's left behind by the kids.
"Seems like you really captured their attention!"

Since all of them come from different places than this one. It's only logical that different places would also have different stories, right? It means he at least won't bore the kids by telling them something they've already heard.
Minako glances around for a moment before her gaze returns to Aang.
"Do you often play with the kids here?"
no subject
"When I can. They see the world a lot more simply, sometimes. And, if I'm honest, if I need the technology of this place explained at all? Ask a kid - the answers are very simple."
no subject
But that just makes her think of something else entirely.
"Are you not used to it?" She asks, considering his statement seems to imply as much. "The technology here, I mean. Is it not like where you're from?"
And while the technology is a little different than Minako is used to, she's found enough similarities to know how to work most things. But it seems like that's not the case for everyone.

She laughs, though it seems to be a friendly laugh, rather than her laughing at him. After all, at least it can't be a bad change, right? Not in her eyes, anyway.
"Though.. with the way you look.." Minako stops, humming for a moment as she looks at him. "You kind of seem like those monks that live far away in the mountains.. I bet they don't use any of this technology either."

Everyone was taking a small break, having learned the next set of steps and soon they would be putting everything together for the dance.
"Do you enjoy dancing?"
no subject
"It's great! It's a way to talk without any words, I think."

"I'm Aang."

"My name is Aurora, it is a pleasure to meet you, Aang." Zuko had mentioned having a friend named Aang, she wondered if it was a very common name or if this was him...
"This may seem like an odd question, but you wouldn't happen to know someone named Zuko, would you?"
no subject
But then he laughed, shaking his head.
"Of course you know Zuko. Everyone knows Zuko...this may surprise you, but when I met him, he was taciturn and reserved. He's really blossomed."

When the story is done, she applauds along with the children, more than happy to let him know she'd enjoyed the story as well.
no subject
"Thank you," he said, with a slight bow, "I'm glad you enjoyed it."

Aang, for his part, laughs.
"Yeah, that's Appa. He's...well, we're sort of bonded, him and I. He's a Skybison. He's usually a lot bigger, but this place had something to say about him being big enough for me to ride."
no subject
"He's so cute! I've never heard of a Skybison before." Then again, different worlds, different creatures. "So coming to this world changed his size?"
no subject
"Yes, skybison are usually huge...he's ten tons at normal size."

There's an aura of peace around him, something that her cognitive magic picks up without really trying, and it's enough to draw her in.
Would it seem odd of her to say something? Perhaps, but odder still if she just sat nearby and said nothing. Maybe she shouldn't interrupt. Poison tries softly clearing her throat first to see if she gets his attention. If not... well, she'll just sit down some metres away and enjoy the atmosphere.

"Hello," he says, in a friendly voice.
no subject
She's never been terribly good with things like... introductions, making a good first impression, all that kind of thing, but it's so... so calm and peaceful out here. She can't help but feel at ease.
"Do you mind if I sit with you?"
no subject
"Sure, if you want."
no subject
Something on her mind would be an understatement at the best of times, but she takes the offered spot with a faint smile in Aang's direction and pulls her legs up into a half-lotus position, curling her hands loosely over her ankles.
"You can go back to what you were doing, if you want. I didn't mean to interrupt."
no subject
"I could. Or we could talk. It looks like you want to, sort of. And that's great - I'm a pretty good sounding board."
He smiled.
"Or a good listener, if that's what you need."
