🧙 WHO: Asriel and your character!
⚔️️ WHAT: It's a catch all for the month + one quest prompt.
🕒 WHEN: Through August.
🗺️ WHERE: Around Camelot.
⚠️ WARNINGS: None! Will edit if any content warnings come up.
a. new magic, new curse
( Things were.... a lot emotionally-wise for the Monster Child last month, and that's putting things lightly. He's been keeping to himself a bit more since the incident at the Hall of Mirrors, but it seems like this world tends to continue to throw things his way that he isn't expecting.
Not only does he wake up with different ears, but it definitely looks bizarre. He's well-aware now that some people think that he resembles a goat, but what now that he has white, cat-like ears? He quickly misses how they once were, but he's gone through more dramatic changes at home. He knows about the rumor going around that Animal Mages were the ones who had done things like this to others, but at the least – it seemed to be harmless beyond the weird animal parts.
It isn't just that, but... it seems like his animal magic is just gone. He can be found at the beach, sitting next to the shore – attempting to talk to the mossatees that he had helped last month. He hugs his knees, a hint of defeat in the way he looks to the water. )
Gee, I can't understand them anymore.
b. practicing
( It almost feels like routine for Asriel to practice his elemental magic at this point in time. Monsters like himself were made of magic, so at home his magic would have come naturally to him in time. However, while they were here he had to work for it to become stronger. He's focused mostly on his fire magic, so it was time to try something else entirely.
His familiar is closely behind him, making chattering noises as Asriel tries to figure out how to really go about furthering his abilities.
He raises a hand up, brows furrowing. It takes a moment, but a small shard of ice eventually forms, floating inches above his paw-like palm.
His fur bristles in surprise at that before his face lights up. )
Almond, we did it! Heheh, that's so great! Thank you...!
c. (QUEST) don't treep, man
( Asriel decides to try to pitch in and try to help. He's not all too sure about how much he can do, but he wants to do his best at what he's capable of doing! After everything that happened at home, he's doing whatever he can to make up for what had happened.
It's only a little after he arrives that his familiar is urging him to help with the crops, causing Asriel to hesitate. He doesn't really have green magic – or... at least, he doesn't think so. He has yet to figure out what his new magic is. But, the way that the smaller creature is urging him to try is a bit telling.
He closes his eyes then, taking in a breath before he tries to concentrate on the field before him – and slowly, but surely – some of the crops begin to regrow.
When he opens his eyes, he freezes, a hand moving to his other wrist before looking away. )
…. O-Oh.
( To say that he's unhappy about this turn of events would be putting it lightly. )
d. stargazing
( Considering that Asiel has never really lived anywhere except underground, it's his first time not only experiencing sunlight, but seeing the stars as well. He's been glued to his sibling quite a bit since he first arrived. However, one evening he decides to do something different.
He finds a hill a bit away from others, leaning on the palm of his hands as he looks upwards. There's nothing but amazement in his expression – green-colored eyes practically sparkling as he does he best to memorize them all. )
Golly, they're even prettier than what we had in Waterfall...

Also the wagging tail is really, really cute. ♥ It's impossible not to smile when she sees it twitch like that, giggling just so.]
Mm, I actually don't think so. Sunflowers usually grow this big all on their own, without magic. [Some variants can grow up to 3 meters, after all. A few of the ones here were already up to that - maybe seven or eight feet.] It doesn't take magic to raise something up to be really, really big...just a lot of attention, care, and love.
[She reaches out and pats his head gently. It's kind of like raising a, no pun intended, little kid. They start small, then grow up big and strong with attention, care, and a lot of love. Ochako's hand drifts away as she takes in a deep breath, feeling a tiny pang of guilt in her chest ache, but pushes it back again.]
Oh, I know they will! We can probably buy any that they sell. It'll be my treat, so don't worry, okay? If your sibling likes sweets, we can get as many as they might like, too.

Dad told me that, too. He was always really good at taking care of flowers...
( It was his strength that Asriel always admired -- but... it was how gentle he was that helped influence Asriel to be the person he was. )
Gosh, Ochako - you know a whole lot about flowers, huh? I never knew that flowers could get this big.
( She reaches to pat his head, and his face lights up - offering a warm smile in response. )

Eh? Ah, w-well...I-I only know so much from reading about them!! I actually only ever had little cacti and succulents before in my room! I bet if I tried to keep any actual flowers...I'd never get it right, ehehe.
But I do really like learning about things like that - even if I can't do it well myself. It's kind of fun.
[She blinks, tilting her head to one side as her hand is extended to Asriel to start leading him through those big ol' rows of towering flowers. Hopefully the phones here can take videos and pictures - Ochako definitely wants to keep a few memories from this time.]
I really don't mind!! I want to! Um...and it sort of feels weird asking someone younger than me to pay for themselves. B-But if you're sure, um...I suppose it's okay.

Gosh, maybe I can tell you about what I've heard from Dad... If you wanted to. But, the flowers here and at home are probably pretty different from each other.
( He does agree that reading can be fun... He passed the time a lot as Flowey by reading, but even then there wasn't a lot of books to choose from. It may have been out of boredom then -- but now that he can feel things like love again, he can't help but think they were interesting. )
It's really okay. We get money for going to school, so... I'd really like to treat you.
( It just feels... sort of odd that people are so nice to him after everything he's done. Even if they don't know, or if they haven't experienced what he did firsthand. He can't help but feel a little awkward receiving gifts just because. )

[Between school, tests, working out, and doing her Work Study with Ryukyu's agency and all that...and a bit of downtime for herself, Ochako really is a busy-body back home. It's why it's been so difficult here in this world, too... Filling her time with things to do has been tough, and she's thought to enroll herself in school, but...the thought of going to school without her friends and teachers makes her chest ache a little too much. It just reminds Ochako that this isn't where she should be. It's not home, and drives the fact that her friends are...gone. Gone, or just. Doing other things. With other people.
It hurts...

Mmh...if you're really sure. Just don't spend too much on me, alright? I have my own money, too. I can pitch in!
[And she'd like to. Having a relatively good means of making money through quests, being as frugal and financially savvy as she is, and not having to siphon her money to her parents to help them...well. Ochako has a bit of savings holed away.]

It's still really amazing that you can take care of something in between everything...
( It can be really interesting to hear about other worlds, and he doesn't really have any problems at all telling people about his home. At the same time... it's not really his home anymore. He doesn't feel like he has a place there, despite being here. Everyone was here to protect their own worlds, after all. As much as he misses the rest of his family, he knows that him being here is for the best.

[People are similar to flowers in a way, being that they are so diverse, different, colorful, and unique. She doesn't know the full history about flower language, Ochako's not all that invested in it, but she'd bet that a few of the descriptors of various flower meanings come from how they mimic people, in a way.
Speaking of flowers though, they have a long trek ahead of them! Ochako holds out her hand to Asriel, if he'd like to take it, so they can begin going through the rows and rows of utterly massive sunflowers. The huge blooms dwarf both of them considerably, like a forest of leaves, tall stalks, and bright petals, but with the sunlight filtering through...it's sort of a nice reprieve from the heat. And it even does make Ochako herself smile a little bit brighter from time to time.
This is really nice.]
Ne, pick a spot somewhere, Asriel-kun, we can have a picnic here!!

( Asriel looks surprised at that, taking in the offer before smiling slightly, albeit a bit tentatively. )
I-I've never really had a picnic like this before... ( At least, not outside in the sun, enjoying nice weather like this. )
Uhm... ( He looks around for a moment before finding a spot in between all the flowers -- one with enough shade to keep them cool. )

[Spacious enough to sit on a small mat she brought, and shady enough to keep the heat off them. Ochako moves over to where her tiny friend indicated and goes to set everything down, waving for Asriel to come over as she takes a few bentos she made out from a big shoulder bag she was carrying.]
I wasn't exactly sure what sorts of food you liked, Asriel-kun, so I hope this is okay? It's pretty basic...
[A few onigiri stuffed with various fillings (tuna mayo, chicken and veggies, and salmon and cream cheese), some fresh fruits and veggies cute into little star shapes, and a tea cookie. There's even some folded omelet in there too! ♥]

[Pass the time, busy her hands and her mind on things, get herself out of her cluttered and lonely inn room. Simple things that aren't high-action quests and missions.]
I would have made more, or something a little tastier, but I wasn't sure if you'd like it... S-So I kind of went with stuff that was pretty basic, ehehe!! I hope it's okay! [Since a lot of the stuff is kind of bland in terms of flavor and extravagance, but it's tasty and seasoned well enough. Plus, the presentations is kind of cute. Very her.]

( He's sort of in awe, really... There's so much that Ochako is good at, and so much that she's knowledgeable about. It almost feels like something to strive for himself. After all, even with how much Asriel's done and read, there's still a lot that he himself feels like he has to learn. )
It looks really great! Everything at the inn is good, but... I think that food can taste better when a friend makes it, hee hee.
( He'll tentatively reach for his own food then, taking the container into both hands before giving the eggs a try. He spent so long as a flower than he can't really help but enjoy food all the more now... )

[Cooking, ice skating, reading and writing...all little things that people develop over the course of their life. Ochako's just lucky she was so close to her parents that her mother would invite her to help all the time (mostly because Ochako was constantly in the kitchen as a toddler, looking for snacks). Nothing comes without making the effort to try, or having someone else guide you through it.]
Ehehe, I think I have to agree with you. Mood you make yourself always tastes better - especially if you share it with people you care about! [She takes a bite for herself, and while it's not gourmet quality...it's good. It's tasty and she even has to pat herself on the back a little for making sure the rice was cooked to perfection.]

( He felt so guilty then. It was such a long time ago, but he still remembers that day vividly. It's one of the harder lessons he received back then.
He isn't so sure about taking up cooking as a hobby himself, but it is nice to hear about what makes other people happy. Ochako looks happy when she talks about it, and in the end -- he can't help but feel like that's what matters the most.
He can't help but giggle when she talks with her mouth full of food. Hey, he doesn't mind. If there is one thing that he feels right now, it's contentment. There's something relaxing about sitting under the summer shade like this -- light breeze keeping them both cool despite the heat. It's something he wants to commit to memory, if only because he never thought he'd be able to feel it before. )

[Hell, Ochako has had a lot of failures in her life. Her first practical training course at UA (despite her team's success), her complete and utter defeat against Bakugou at the Sports Festival, and...th-the summer Training Camp...Sir Nighteye. All those things were complete and utter failures, but they've also helped Ochako to grow and develop as a Hero and as a person, too. Don't be slowed or halted by defeat. Keep going, keep standing back up. That's what makes a person strong.
The ability and willingness to learn and grow.]
Mm, of course we are. [Ochako's smile becomes a little distant, for just a second, and it doesn't quite reach her eyes completely. But she's swift to shove that away and plaster her thousand-watt smile back on her face like a practice professional.] For as long as we're here together, we'll always be friends!!

Haha, maybe... It'd be nice to try to make something for someone special again. But... I think you're right. Since, we can't go back and redo anything-- ( At least, not in this world. ) we just have to try harder the next time when we mess up, huh?

She's snapped out of her thoughts and clears her throat a bit, looking sheepish for daydreaming like that, but listens again. Ah...home. Going home would be really nice. It's not like she doesn't adore the people she's met, or the friendships she's forged here, but...Ochako has dreams. She has goals. She has a mother and a father to get back to, to support. Here, she can't be the Hero she wants to be - they don't really exist. Knight is close, in the broadest of senses, but not the same...]
I would really like that. It's not that I'm not happy here, but it's not the same, you know? I'd miss everyone I met so, so much...because you're all so wonderful and amazing, but I really miss everyone else back home, too. I can't help but worry and want to know they're okay.

[And honestly, now is the time to go it - with the summer month coming to an extremely swift end, the lake will start to get cold and icy...and Ochako hasn't yet found anywhere in Camelot that has an indoor pool or something. And sure she can pull water from the air (humidity and such), but that sort of concentration and magical output would tire her out so much that she's maybe only make enough to fill a milk bottle, let alone a big pool.]
Maybe not for a little bit, but I don't mind!! I've only really been to the beach on the lake once this summer, with my friends - we had a big party there for fun - but I'd love to go again!! I can bring an inner tube, or cute floaties for you, Asriel-kun. And of course we'd only stay in the shallows.
