[ Expanding, Mona liked to think that Light expand and the wavelengths are there residing within her hands. She attempts to visualize it, and in her visualization. The formation of stars began to edge out along the shield present. Slowly forming outwards, although in theory this was correct. It would seem Mona's own idea of individual expansion - did not give her the ability to create shields on her own.

There was a slight furrow of her brow, the shields stopped expanding. She lets out a sigh, ] Sorry, it is not your fault.... Ah, I should show you the other thing I have been working on. I know I can't make shields but I was working on other things during my time trying to strengthen my own magic.

[The stars are awesome to see, and if he inspects them, he's thinking about ways to bend light that may help her out in other ways. Maybe the shields he makes just work for him because it's how his familiar taught him. Fun is a fundamental aspect he learned from his sea-monster, so every trick he makes isn't as dangerous as it could be... as dangerous and capable as Mona's could be.]

This has it's own strengths... Look, it has points with the stars and you can create prisms... Then there's a lot to do with optics...

Hm... You think so? I am not sure it can stay permanent, but they are shapely and do in fact stand out. I am still trying to defer to their usage - no matter come. [ With that said, Mona reaches over to the table pulling out an apparatus looking like half a glove. Or an astrolabe. ] This may take a bit of explaining, but more or less I use this instrument to diagnose the light waves, each individual person has upon coming to this world. I have them instill some of their magic into a empty crystal. Then from there I use this instrument to turn that energy into readable star constellations from their universe.

[ Mona holds out a hand as if to still any thoughts that may come to be, ]

Admittedly, one would think that once they come into this world. The energy of their universe would no longer effect them here, but there is some correlation and wrong thinking in that. For one, did you know there are some people whom have magic specialization of two, end up changing into others? For instance say I can do Light magic now, but in a few months for some reason that magic changes. Instead I am able to only use Dark magic - the changes are questionable. Yet it seems like, its self desire and instilled that way. So I do not fret over my specializations changing.

You don't need them to be permanent for them to be useful in the moment...

[He's thinking of the practicality of her magic in combat, but her exploration and usage of her magic is so different from his own that it's fascinating.] Wait... so... any person, or only those with light magic?

I've not heard of anyone having their magic change, but it does make sense that they are still tied to their universe. Who have you used that instrument with?

I am not sure - anyone perhaps? I have yet to encounter a successful change, other then hearing or reading about it. [ When the question reflects to the instrument at hand, Mona beams with some pride and delight. ] Quite a few people! Hm, I don't know if you know any of them? Harry was one. Another man named Hijikata, Kipposhi, and Bennett. Bennett is from my own realm.

Would you like to try it on me? I'm sure my home world has to be similar to one of theirs. Would you recognize something like that?

[Gokudera moves closer to her as if willing and welcoming her to use that instrument to find out the answer to his questions.]

Of the lot, I've not heard of Kipposhi or Bennett.

Yes of course, if you would allow me! [ Mona moves a hand to her satchel, looking for a empty crystal. She reaches it toward Gokudera and offers it to him. ]

I haven't done this with another Light mage, I wonder if the reading will be more precise. The crystal itself will absorb any magic that you use, so just spill a little into it. Then I will take it and use my instrument!

Ah.. Bennett is from my own realm, Kipposhi is from another.

Sure. [He seems a little shy about this, but is willing to let her see whatever he can show her. Gokudera accepts the crystal and stares down at it while listening to her]

[He's got some magic bottled up, and what if whatever comes out is a mixture of light and elemental magic? Gokudera looks worried as he holds it, then presses it between both of his palms, focusing on pushing out his magic.]

You know if you do not want me to read your stars, you needn't do this. Though I am of the liking that the Truth is something you needn't fear. That said, since this is just the start of my studies. What I can read, are general ideas of the truth. Hopefully one day the truths I read will be as clear as the images reflecting back on the surface of water.

[ Mona nods her head and waits gently until he is done, to which she will offer her hand out toward him for it afterwards. ]

[Gokudera looks down at the crystal, just concerned about what she may find. It's probably not pretty.]

[It is what it is, and if this helps... if it makes things difficult for him at all, then what else is new? Gokudera hands her back the crystal.]

[ Mona takes the crystal into her hands, her wrist flicking whilst her other hand promptly presses into her waist. She gives him a judging look, overlooking his expression and understanding that there was more going on here. ]

I don't need to read the stars, to know there is something going on in that mind of yours. You want to let it out? Holding back your feelings like a damn in a lake, is not going to help anyone. Especially yourself, which is the most important person in your world.

[He blushes and shakes his head vigorously.]

Letting it out will be even worse than holding it in!

[At least... that's his plan. To avoid the problem until it goes away ~~and given the date of this thread that is exactly what happens~~. Gokudera has a lot going on. It's mostly just pains and frustration, though. Stuff he should be able to handle on his own. He's a very private person, ok?]

That is impossible! [ Mona flips the crystal between her finger tips and then lets it rest upon her palm where she offers it back toward him. ] This magic is very specific to my own, they would need to master the knowledge of star reading from my world. As well as your world, and then have the precise or exact instrument that I had crafted, as well as commissioned to be engineered for myself. The only thing a person can do with this energy, is siphon it for them self. Without the instrument I own, its just a crystal with energy in it.

[ Unfortunately Mona enjoys blabbing about her science so she continues on. ]

It would be the same as someone with Siphon magic, where the Crystal is the medium or user. It's just energy, the same way the crystals light up and glow beneath the red spring. When the full moon peaks above the waters. [ She keeps going.. ] I can't imagine someone having an extensive amount of knowledge of the star charts of Earth. It took me quite a lot of time to work with a few people, reference them back with the archives here - and then. Ask those from Earth to verify as much as they can. If not for Caster... I would not have succeeded as quickly.

That doesn't even cover the universe or realms - although few, but like my own. That have their own constellation system of their own.

So... then if someone else took it, they could use that magic, but not in the same way...

[A hum, he understands. Doesn't seem as eager or demanding to take it back, but looks at it, remembering his weapon system back home and how it stored his energy.]

If... when you're done, does it just go back to being a regular crystal? Empty and to be filled again by someone else?

Right! I imagine only a siphon witch could use it properly... I think that everyone else would struggle. Since the crystal itself only works one way unless extracted specifically in a certain manner. My tool can only extract the anomalies of your magic, basically... What my tool looks for, is Lightsources that effected you on your universe. Your stars and constellations. [ Mona draws her hand back but she is more then willing to let him have the crystal back at anytime. She shifts her weight from one leg to the other. A hand rising to play with a strand of hair. ] I haven't been able to make the energy source last long... So yeah, it does after a while empty out. The crystal gets destroyed with it too.

[He'd been hoping he could hang onto it after she read his truth. Hearing that the crystal gets destroyed is disappointing. He drops his hand and his head a little.]

[But... if he lets her read his truth, that will help, right? Then it wouldn't be a burden. It is what it is. He just hopes she doesn't judge him too harshly, whatever she extracts.]

[ For as distressed as the other was, and Mona intuitive as she were. There was issues that needed to be iron'd out. Whether within him, or within this situation. She were not so cruel or daft, despite the inhuman ways she would talk bluntly to others. As to not over look the struggles of another. ]
