SUMMARY: King Arthur needs to go meet with Queen Elphame. Celliwig holds a tournament to invite other people to come with during the communication and celebrate their newfound friendship. A temporary barrier was put up so the river is currently mostly impassible. After the departure from Celliwig last month, the people of Celliwig have been working hard to make the area around their town safe again from the angered specters. For now, there are makeshift barriers that are preventing anything from crossing the river, dead or alive, except over the Pure of Heart bridge. It will, at the very least, prevent more from coming over and overwhelming the land surrounding Celliwig again. The city is open and, while the Elphame traders have stuck around to help train people in the proper use and treatment of mounts, the safest way to speak to Elphame is through Celliwig's hall of mirrors. King Arthur, Merlin, and a couple of other members of the royal court entered to speak to Queen Elphame directly in order to find out what information she knew about the Calamity and to begin discussion of what it would take to reclaim Excalibur. With the magics of Avalon having recovered significantly enough to not be at risk of falling apart if some of the otherworlders leave while still maintaining the barrier to keep Avalon safe, they need to begin discussing action. At the same time, in celebration of King Arthur's arrival and a royal wedding within Celliwig, a tournament is underway! Celliwig's tournaments work a little differently, however, and focus on a little more than just combat skills-- a modern tournament for the modern person. (Though there is fighting as well, of course.) Celliwig's Top Talents Tourney hasn't been held in a good many years since it's been closed off, so everyone is invited to participate. Invitations have been sent to all of Camelot's residents. The tournament categories are as follows: Cutthroat Cooking - For the chef's out there! Compete against other chefs to show off who has the best culinary skills. All contestants start with 2,500,000G which will be theirs to lose through the course of the tournament. This money can be used to purchase sabotages to use on other chefs throughout the course of the competition. Vicious Vocals - Singing competition. Anyone may participate, there are no auditions. Each contestant will compete solo first, then have to do a competitive duet with another person who moved onto the second round. The final round involves performing and singing at the same time, so you may want to go find friends to give you tips between each round and help you come up with an awesome set-up that will wow the judges! Speed Sculpting - This one's for the artists! Celliwig is really big on art, in particular sculpture. Any decent sculpture can be sold whether it wins or loses. Sculpture form can be made with anything you want-- glass, sugar, and ice are popular choices in Celliwig because of the city's aesthetic, but any materials are possible-- plants, stones, clay, chocolate, fabric, whatever you want as long as it stands on its own after you're done creating. (You can use your magic to sculpt if that's what you want.) Melee Mania - Fight your fellow competitors one-on-one. Weapons and magic are both allowed. Healers will be paid generously for assisting after combat is finished. Familiar Feud - Let your familiar have a little fun and combat each other! They're the star of the show here and otherworlders are only there in a support role. Mario Party - It's literally a series of Mario Party games. If you win your block, you move onto the next round and so on. 4 max players per game. If you don't rage quit at any point, you get free energy drinks throughout the day because this party isn't stopping. Silent Assassin - This competition will take place throughout the course of the tournament. All competitors are kept confidential, but required to wear a hidden body cam so that the experience can be shared online for audience viewing later. All competitors are given fake weapons (paintball guns, rubber knives, and so on) with sensors in them and have to find and "kill" the other competitors throughout the tournament period. Anyone who shows up to either participate in or watch the tournament will receive 50% off a hotel room and a single (Potion) Counter-curse. How the tournament will be run is a little different from an OOC standpoint. Any characters can participate, but in order to determine a winner, we will need anyone who thinks their characters skill is great enough to win to comment to the name of the tournament they are entering HERE! If your character would have canon advantages in a category, write +1 advantage in your comment. (So if you are from an idol series, you'll have a leg up on singing, or if your character is a skilled assassin in their canon, they could gain a +1. It won't guarantee they win, but it will give them a leg up so we're not ignoring their skill!) If you do not think your character has any chance at winning, please do not comment. (Someone who's never cooked a day in their life isn't going to magically win the cooking competition, you know?) If you think/want your character to lose even if they may have skills, we do not need your information. This is only an RNG for potential winners. We will RNG the winners from those who comment for each competition as linked. ICly, anyone who wants to thread any part of it out, go for it! You can thread out watching, you can thread out participating, interfering, anything you want! Thread out having an intimate moment with a healer after a battle, a tearful failure and hurt/comfort consolation, buying a round of vodka flashes for your fellow losers. Whatever you want! Just have fun. SUMMARY: King Arthur & Co. are still in chambers. A woman shows up and claims they're in danger, argues with Glwelwyd that she saw it despite that those abilities are not possible right now. Players voted to determine the next course of this prompt. (This section may be skipped for prompts now, but is still posted for reference.) The day after the end of the tournament days, all seems well and peaceful as usual within the city of Celliwig. The mirror hall that King Arthur's party had gone into is still closed shut. The Hall is guarded by a 7 foot tall man with a long, scraggly beard and huge rippling muscles named Glewlwyd IV. (You may have seen him around at past events.) None may enter until negotiations are completed, and it is his sacred duty passed down by his ancestors to ensure that none shall pass his guard. Most in Celliwig won't even try, knowing the futility of such an action, which is why it is particularly peculiar that Gwion can be found yelling outside of the halls that they need to be let in. After an argument and a call to action, some other worlders chose to find Gwion and ask questions. "Listen to me, there's something wrong, you need to let someone in there! Look for yourself! I saw it!" "Time is frozen, the future cannot be seen. A dream is but a dream, not a prophecy. Disrespect from the people of Celliwig interrupting a meeting of the fae and King Arthur's party would spell much more certain fate. After one more failed attempt to get past him, the woman stomps off to a nearby bar to blow off some steam, and ends up posting to the AOL Network instead. The King's party is in danger. No one is allowed in or out, but they're going to die if you don't work together to get past Glewlwyd. You can ask how I know, but it's a real long story and we're real short on time, so I'm kind of going out on a limb here. I'll be at Celliwig's bar if anyone wants more details. SUMMARY: A very close battle ensues in front of the Hall of Mirrors, with the doors eventually being forced open to reveal a dark, possessed hall. Reflects prey on characters' deepest insecurities and anyone who falls victim to them are trapped within the reflections. King Arthur and the Pure of Heart and Brave of Soul Mirror used to communicate with Elphame are possessed by angry specters trapped on Celliwig's side after the river barrier was put up. After the drama caused by Gwion's warning, the city of Celliwig is rather unsettled. There's an air of tension thick enough that you could hear a pin drop, and enough people who thought it was more important to protect the integrity and wishes of the fae than to worry about the unlikely chance that a seer had a vision while time was stopped. A large number of people have shown up to stand by Glewlwyd's side and defend the Hall of Mirrors, a show which will not be forgotten by the people of Celliwig... However, the strength in both numbers and battle goes to those wishing to enter the Hall of Mirrors. The battle is strenuous, a mixture of both Celliwig citizens and Camelot's otherworlders, and anyone wishing to play out part of it should put either defense or offense indicators in their prompt title to clearly attract those wishing to play out the fight. Those who manage to break through the line will make it into the Hall of Mirrors. The first and most notable thing once the door is open is that it's as dark as night. Not at all conditions for a meeting. And it's cold, condensation and fog forming at the door where the freezing night of the hall and the summer heat outside. It is not at all like it was the first time visitors were allowed in to place their Pure of Heart and Brave of Soul crystals in the mirror to communicate with Elphame. There is absolutely something going on, and those on either side of the battle may want to redirect their attention to the Hall. None of the party seems to be seen. Those who dare to venture forward into the hall will find themselves rather quickly at a loss for where the door went. There is a dim light still visible from it, highlighting the other people in the room and the edges of glass and mirrors throughout the hall. An eerie blue glow reflects through the number of the mirrors, but it seems to move about as if passing impermenantly. Those who try to chase it will find themselves further lost from the entrance, until they find themselves face to face with a reflection that doesn't seem to follow their own movements. This reflection will begin to speak with the character's voice, then immediately target the character's deepest insecurities. Every bad thought that they've thought of themself is fair game. If the character can remain calm and keep moving forward, then they will not fall victim to the trap. However, should they react with a burst of emotion, argue, or be unable to move forward when faced with their own insecurities, they will find themselves trapped in the mirror, replacing the reflection. Those who manage to pass the mirrors will find themselves at the Pure of Heart and Brave of Soul Mirror. The communication is still open to what appears to be an ornately decorated, natural throne. The Queen is long since gone, having been escorted to safety to keep her safe from the cursed mirrors. Notably, every crystal lining the edge of this mirror seems to have been infected by the blue, almost spectral color. Approached, a chilling laughter echoes from the possessed mirror, but the laughter is finished by King Arthur himself, back turned and facing the mirror. He turns around and wields his sword, ready to defend the mirror, eyes filled with the same blue as the mirror. As more people approach, reflections of Arthur seem to walk out of the mirrors as well to fight more and more people. It's hard to tell which is the real one, so can you really kill him to get him out of the way and get to the mirror? Fight the small army of King Arthurs and gather enough death mages to exorcise the spirits out of the mirror.. or maybe just smash it. Did you think this was the last choice you'd make this week? (When he learns that there is an open opportunity to use magic in a contest, Harry is pretty excited to go for it and show everyone he has got. As he looks at the crowd getting pumped, he takes a deep breath and turns to the person behind him, hoping that they’ll play well.)

(It is Rose’s turn to shine in this contest as Harry lets her to play with other familiars ready to duke it out. He is just hoping that she doesn’t get too hurt though as he watches her scampers into the arena, squeaking and waiting for her opponent.)

Okay, Rose. Just give it your best and try not to get yourself hurt too much.

(Rose squeaks up to her master as she braces for what lies ahead. He is hoping that nothing bad will happen to her and her opponent in the fight.)

🥷Breaking the Naruto Run (Defensive)
(The moment he hears that about the rumor regarding trouble for King Arthur, Harry is pretty suspicious of the woman who spread it: time is still frozen, so what’s the point of her visions now? He is not convinced by her words, but at the same time, he wants to support the talks between Arthur and Elphame, so he decides to volunteer to help the bearded old man in guard duty so no one can disturb the talks.

When he notices some of the people rallying to save the King, Harry is hoping to talk some sense to the people and tell them that she is lying to them this entire time. He is currently trying to tell the person on Gwion’s side to stop: he hates having to fight with someone when they can civilly discuss it among themselves, but as he has remembered from the many fights he was involved in back home, he knows that it’s only a matter of time before he has to push back.)

🪞Dangerous Reflections
(So the offensive side decides to break into the Hall and now Harry has to chase after them inside. He is running as fast as he can to find them, but he is also stunned to see how twisted and corrupted the Hall has become. The young wizard isn’t sure how it happened, but he wants to get to the bottom of this mess quickly while finding the people breaking in.

So he is running down the hallway when he notices something weird with the reflection of his on a mirror: smirking at him devilishly. Ho boy, this is going to suck.)

(Well, that was a good fight he has put up, though he isn’t sure if he has won it or not. Regardless, he did have a good time in it and everyone else did well too, so he isn’t complaining.

He just came out of the arena to take a breather with Rose and Hedwig on a bench and they all watched the people passing by while he was having some snacks. Soon enough, he will be turning 18 by the month’s end and it does make him feel amazed to know that he will live long to see that day come, considering what he has been through so far.)

[Din is exhausted. Which, admittedly is something of a normal state of being for him, but it's a different kind of exhaustion than usual. More the good kind of exhaustion that comes after a good deal of exertion. It's been a long time since Din's fought in a tournament like that. Most of the fights he sees these days are along the lines of occupational hazard.

He passes Harry, offering a small nod of recognition before taking a seat on an empty bench to inspect his equipment and make sure that everything goes back to its rightful place. There's a reverence to the way he handles his weapons, checking over each one to make sure it's still in good condition.]

(Harry notices that there is someone who has come to take a rest at the same area as he is in. He looks up to see Din giving a nod and he responds back in return, Hedwig looks on with a soft hoot of acknowledgement and Rose squeaks happily.

The young man watches in amazement to see how the armored man looks after his weapons and he is really impressed by it: he hasn’t seen many people doing this before, so he’s looking on in deep respect.)

[It's methodical, careful, making sure that knives and other tools go back to the right spots, that everything else is as it should be, that he's frustratingly going to have to get more ammunition from the traders. The little things that could probably wait but he'd prefer to take care of them now.

He knows he's being watched, and isn't that surprised. Though he supposes it's nice not to have it be because they're coveting his armour. Hopefully. He supposes you can never tell, but he doesn't quite clock Harry as a threat. Once done with his inspection he looks up.]

Oh nothing at all. I’m just watching how you are looking after your weapons, I never saw something like them before.

(Harry is probably replying this in a meek tone. He didn’t mean to come off as be intruding on Din like that, but he is pretty intrigued by the inspection since wands don’t normally need something like unless they get broken up on certain circumstances.)

No blasters where you're from, huh?

[Seems to be the case for a lot of worlds. Unfortunate really. You can get a lot done with a good blaster by your side.]

Yes, there are no blasters where I’m from. Back home, we primarily use something else, magical sticks made of wood and assorted kids of cores.

(The young teenager sadly nods when Din asked him if his world has blasters similar to the ones he has. Hedwig gives the armored man a bit of a shrug, confirming Harry’s answer, while Rose just squeaks at anyone who passes.)

[There's a silence as Din takes this in, and for impassive a visor, it really manages to display some emotion. Namely skepticism. Magic sticks. Right.]

I guess whatever works.

[He stands, picking up his rifle and strapping it to his back with practiced ease.]

(Harry nods in silence as he sees Din putting back his rifle away. Hedwig is getting rather annoyed as soon as she begins to squeak way too much at people that she tries to hoot at her to stop it.)

Alright you two, perhaps you can stop getting annoyed by each other at this instance. Everyone will be staring at you for causing a ruckus.

[All things considered, Ken already knew that he wouldn't win this. After his last attempt, he wasn't expecting anything amazing. When he saw Harry, he gave a small bow.]

I'm as ready as you are. I hope you're prepared.

I hope so as well, Ken. Alright then, I guess we should get started right about now.

(He could hear the crowds cheering on as they enter the arena. Now he’s going to be honest: he is a tad bit nervous about it since his first time competing in the similar contest in Camelot didn’t end well for him and Ken does have his polearm with him, so that sounds like a tall order for him.

Nevertheless, he will do his best to play fairly and not giving up.)

[With that, Ken placed his spear in front of him before looking up and down at his opponent. All things considered, Ken knew Harry was a strong fighter but he didn't know how he would fair against him.

At first, he didn't do anything. Instead, he waited to see what the older teenager would do.]

(A part of him is feeling rather nervous as the competition begins, though you couldn’t tell from what his face is showing. He is also sure that there is a good chance that Ken could beat him in here. Maybe he can try to test how fast Ken would react to flying objects while not trying to hurt him when he notices a small pile of rocks on ground.

So he decides to levitate some of them and proceeds to send them flying at the younger teen before he carefully slows their speed down in order to not hurt him.)

[In response, Ken tried to hit them with the hilt of his spear before making his way toward Harry. He didn't want to hurt his friend either but he had to think of something to disarm him.

As he ran toward him, he jumped up in the air before placing his spear down. He hoped that Harry would be able to dodge him somehow.]

(Upon noticing Ken running towards him, he immediately dodges the charge by teleporting away from it and reappearing onto another part of the arena, getting his bearings straight from the teleporting.

Both teenagers are nearly on the same playing field so far, as much as they didn’t want to hurt each other in a competition. Though anything can change at any moment as far as things are concerned.)

[The moment that Harry reappeared, he threw his spear at his direction. Again, he wasn't intending to hurt but to throw him off. Although, he knew he had to think of something if he wanted to win.

The problem was what as he looked around his immediate area. Let's see, what could he do...?]

(Harry is able to see the spear being throw at his direction. Soon enough, he quickly teleports away from the spear before reappearing again while taking a quick sigh.

While it is true that he has a stronger hand in magic, he also knows that he is not great with combat with non-wand weapons. Maybe he can ask Sokka if he can afford weapon combat someday, but for now, he has both kinetic and elemental magic.)

[With Harry teleporting, he immediately ran over to grab his spear before turning around to look at his opponent once more. Being a long ranged user, it was slightly difficult to get an attack on Harry when he too liked to attack from far away.

Trying to figure out what else to do, he decided to close his eyes. Trying his best to focus, maybe if he could transform into a lion he could get a better attack on him!]

(Harry cranes his head out of curiosity while he notices Ken standing there with his eyes closed. Maybe he was trying to think something, but what that thing is, the teen wizard doesn’t have a clue.

So he just have to wait and see what happens next, then he can change his strategy and hopefully survive this match.)

[After a moment or two, he eventually turned into a lion before letting out a loud roar. Immediately, he rushed right toward Harry hoping to scare him into backing down from the melee.

Although, he was prepared for what his opponent would do.]

[Ren notices harry somewhat close to the Vicious Vocals area and decides to approach him. It's also a way to tease his new kinetic teacher, really.]

Hey, you have been visiting the Karaoke Bar, right? Come on. Time to put all that practice on stage.

Yeah, I actually did, Ren. For a few weeks so far. I just don’t know if it’s good enough for the judges.

(To say that the teenager once known as the Boy Who Lived is nervous over a singing contest is an understatement: this is literally the biggest gamble that he has ever done and still being a novice in amateur singing does left him in the tight spot.)

Do you think that I could be able to try to reach for the second part of the contest?

Why not. Your singing voice isn't bad, based on what I've heard. You could do well if you put your whole mind to it.

I supposed that you’re right. I’ll definitely try my best in front of the crowd and hope for the best. Someone did told me last month that I was pretty good in at least holding on my own in singing during the Summer Solstice.
