[ Anyone who comes seeking Gwion will find her at the bar... Frustratedly challenging other Celliwig barhoppers to arm wrestling. She's doing pretty good, and it's distracting her from not knowing whether or not anyone's actually going to show up to help. She definitely can't get past a legendary guardian('s great great grandchild) on her own. ]

Wouldn't be the first time I've been ignored. You see tragedy you can't stop all the time and there are only so many solutions. The people already in this bar at this time of day aren't in any condition to do any rescuing, so buying them a round isn't hurting anyone.

[ There's only so much a person can do if their word isn't believed. Camelot's people have no reason to believe her, so she's making the best of what will prove to be a very bad day. ]

What solutions are you proposing, then? [she folds her hands on the edge of the bar, still rather stiff in posture but at least a touch more conversational.] I imagine it's rather open-ended, given the broad audience you broadcasted to.

No idea. I've got a vague dream-memory I'm going off of, it doesn't spell out the solution. No one ever said magic wasn't a pain in the ass.

Merlin was trapped and Arthur's eyes were wrong. There was an energy in the mirrors that was cold and unearthly. I don't know what could've gotten in unseen by Glewlywd, but there's something there.

Inside the mirrors. You know that phenomenon when two mirrors look into each other and create an infinite number of reflections back? He was at least a handful in. What do you mean a precedence? It's not a pest control problem where the mirrors get cranky every few years. If I knew what it was, I would tell you.

[sighsheavily]

[pointedly, not looking up:] I mean to properly contextualize what it is you saw and better understand why you sense a threat. I'm the outsider here, after all, and the burden of proof is upon your shoulders.

And when I ask of precedence, I ask only because of Merlin's infamy. Has a wizard of his prowess been subjected to traps like that which you mention before? Or is this novel.

I tell what I see, and you either believe me or you don't. I can't prove anything, but if you don't believe me and allow this to pass, it's your burden to bear as someone who can actually do something about it. Don't try to put the responsibility of inaction on me, I've been trying to do something about this since I learned of it despite hundreds of years of "precedent" knowing most futures can't be fought by one person alone and that there is no way to prove anything until people are begging you not to say "I told you so." Morganna, this is just as annoying as the crap Cassandra had to deal with.

[ She shakes her head to dismiss what she just said. That's besides the point, and not relevant to the conversation. Cecelia need not get sidetracked by it. Cassandra would probably disagree anyway, but at least she had the excuse of a curse for people not believing her. ]

Do you know what comes with great power and thousands of years of living? Wisdom at some point, yeah. Paranoia that keeps you alive fades, and you just want to live in the moment and do whatever keeps life fresh and fun and even when you know it's important, sometimes that little urge to make something spark kicks in and you do something dumb. I'm the same age he is; I may not have seen him in a long while, so I can't speak to recent "precedent" for Merlin, but being old and powerful doesn't make you as careful as people think.

[ye gods, the defensiveness. Cecelia's eyelid twitches, but she otherwise remains impassive.

[ Seers have to deal with a lot of shit from people. She's tired of explaining herself. It's what she's been doing all day, and the idea that it's her fault if she can't prove it sets her off a little. ]

That was it. Just the usual signs leading up to this point that indicate this path is the one coming to pass. It's like the butterfly effect, but seers can use that to recognize which possible futures are coming up if we catch enough 'lead up' butterflies to know which path we're on.

This...wouldn't happen to be a particular sight that could be replicated, would it? [she peers sidelong.] Perhaps through some act of divination?

Divination, precognition, the whole set isn't really working. Mine only exists because it's a memory. One I can't condemn anyone else to being able to see myself.

[ She holds up her cup to her lips to take a drink. Sorry, Cecelia, gonna have to learn to have a little faith on this one. ]
