(a. at the senshi (and friends!) house)

[ Minako's arrival hadn't exactly been.. pleasant. Somewhere between everything being so chaotic back home right before she showed up here instead, then suddenly being dropped into the water out of nowhere, and then getting covered in gross jelly stuff didn't exactly make it the most fun course of events.

But at least Makoto helped her over to the house, and now Minako has been able to bathe and get all that junk out of her hair, things are starting to look up a little more. Or at least, Minako thinks she looks presentable enough to be seen by others.

Which means she starts wandering the house, peeking her head into all the rooms so she can greet people with a: ]

Hi! [ You know, casual. Just showed up here. No biggie. ]

(b. on the streets of camelot)

[ If you just happen to be calmly walking along the city streets, your moment of relative peace and quiet gets interrupted really, really quickly.

Because you might suddenly feel something jumping on you. It happens so fast that you can't even see what it is, other than that there's a sudden pressure on your head, like something is clinging on for dear life up there. If you try to remove it - which is possible if you put some effort into it - you'll find it's a cat. A kind of.. odd-looking cat, since it's a little too big for your usual cat, but it's still definitely a cat.

Or even if you don't manage to remove it, there's suddenly a blonde girl outright charging at you, yelling out-- ]

Wait!

[ What do you do. Do you run. Do you stay. Do you ponder why your life suddenly turned out like this? ]

(c. outside a bakery)

[ After having managed to recover her familiar, Minako is making sure to tightly hold it to her chest, not wantin to start an entire chase scene all over again.

Which means things are a little bit calmer right now. Instead you might find the blonde girl standing outside a bakery, staring at the delicious goods inside, looking like she's about to drool right over them. ]

Ahh, it looks so good, right? [ She squeezes the cat-like creature a little. ] Maybe you were just hungry too.. Rough is the fate of those who don't have money.. [ Please, Minako. You literally have a house full of friends you're staying with. Cut down on the melodramatics.

Still, her stomach growls. Loudly. That chase must have taken some energy. Do you help out this poor blonde girl. ]

(d. on the streets of camelot, less chaos edition)

[ Or maybe you, very simply, just find the girl walking up to you on the middle of the streets. Do you know her? Probably not! And yet she talks to you so casually, as if you're not total strangers. Welcome to the power of an extreme extrovert. ]

Hey! Sooo.. if someone wanted to practice these new powers everyone's talking about, where do they do that? Won't you help a cute girl out?

[ Look at her batting those doe eyes at you! You're locked into this fate now. It's inescapable. ]

(ooc: as a note for those who have threaded with me on the tdm, i am more than willing to carry those over as in-game canon, so feel free to assume those interactions happened! c: )

[ BOO. Come on, how dare this place not give her elemental magic just so she's able to spend some time with a handsome guy?! This place is cheating her!

But have no fear, Minako will find ways to stretch her time with this guy all the same. It's all about determination. ]

What other kinds of magic are there then?

.. right, because that guy isn't just a normal cat.

[ Because he's just a little too oddly-shaped to be a normal cat. Even Artemis looked more like a regular cat than this one - other than the crescent moon bald spot, anyway. ]

Does that count for your friend too? [ Minako is assuming it's Aurora's friend, anyway. The other seems particularly fond of animals. ]

[divinereaper]

[ naoto plops the familiar into minako’s waiting arms, happy to return the little creature to its rightful owner. ] No problem!

Yeah, I guess it just depends on the person. Mine’s rather laid back— she tends to spend a lot more time sunbathing than anything else. [ thanks a lot, familiar gods.

when minako mentions makoto’s familiar, he fails to stop himself from blurting out the first thing that comes to mind. ] Awww, Kaede’s a sweetheart though! Mako-chan always treats him nicely, that’s for sure.

[beautyrest]

Vivek? Yes, he's very much my friend, though he calls himself my guardian. Speaking of your feline companion, why do you think he is running from you?

[saltmage]

[He had to raise a brow at that. Really she had looked about ready to devour the bakery whole just a moment ago. Some sort of peculiar jest? Or perhaps a matter of pride?]

Strawberries hardly make a meal my dear. If you fret over coin then do not, I am a healer. ‘Tis among my duties to provide succor to those in need.

[And there were no shortage of fools getting themselves hurt, which made work quite easy to find.]

Aiding you with a meal will likely keep you out of my office later, and I do prefer to be proactive.

[ For a brief moment Minako can't help but think how whipped is this guy for Mako-chan if he's even complimenting her familiar?!

But it's not what she says out loud. No, there's another thing that instinctively flies out of her mouth first. ]

If everyone has cute or sweet or laidback familiars, then why am I the one getting stuck with this?! [ She's just.. shaking the cat in her arms a little for emphasis.. ] This place is bullying a teenage girl! Bullying!!

[reloves]

[ She shakes her head. ]

I don't know.. He didn't tell me. [ As evidenced by the fact that Minako apparently just now found out he could even talk in the first place. ] I thought I'd just try to explore this place a little, see what's around here.. And then, without me saying or doing anything, he just jumped out of my arms and started running like that!

[ She shakes her head. ]

I really didn't do anything!

[reloves]

[ Welp.

Look at that, Minako. You've sure gotten yourself into a true pickle here, haven't you. At this rate she decides that it's maybe better to just shut up and see what she's getting.. At least her previous meal has kind of gone down already now?

So she sucks in a breath. ]

W-Well..! You seem very determined to take care of the people here, at least. It's really nice of you..!

[beautyrest]

Worry not, I believe you. [She looked in the direction that Minako's familiar went, knowing Vivek was keeping a tab on him.]

But it does make one wonder what he's doing and why. Perhaps he is attempting to lead you somewhere?

[doctorintern]

[ It's fine, he's used to it. Though her follow-up question does have him a little puzzled, not realizing entirely what she means at first. ]

Oh yes, just Fenton is fine. [ Maybe he should stop introducing himself with his full name? ] And thank you! I'm quite proud of it. What's your name?

[divinereaper]

[ naoto’s just going to stay silent, even if the first thing he wants to do is save her cat from the shaky shake. you don’t do that in front of a cat lover. but he also knows not to get angry at someone who barely knows him, so he’s staying very, very calm, despite his eye brow twitching at the sight.

find your happy place, naoto. he took a deep breath internally before continuing. ]

Maybe if you treated it better, it won’t run away?

We don't have the advantage of previous experience with them this time, but I'm sure we'll pick it up pretty quick.

[Minako was right though that they would need to make sure to practice, that way they would be able to protect the others and to help with Arthur and the others brought here to restore the magic and undo the damage to time.]

So have you met your familiar yet?

[saltmage]

I take my work seriously.

[That was his excuse, he disliked being thought of as altruistic, and yet had a soft spot for those that seemed down on their luck.]

So what are your cooking skills? If any. [He asks as they walk through the market, he idly stopped now and again to scrutinize wares, very few seemed to pass his judgement.] We could see that you get something premade, however it would be more cost effective to merely get ingredients.

[ Minako supposes that makes more sense than many other things she could think of.

She glances over at Aurora, looking a bit unsure. ]

Do you think we should see where those two have gone then..?

[reloves]

My name is Minako, Minako Aino!

[ She makes a v-sign with her fingers as she says it. You know, like all hip teens do nowadays. ]

Though some people also know me as the goddess of love and beauty. [ You know, a totally normal thing to say during an introduction. ]

[reloves]

[ At least that stops the shaking. Though the weird thing is that the cat doesn't look disturbed by it at all. If anything, it just.. constantly seems the same, like it's weirdly - and lazily - grinning in all situations, its eyes closed. ]

How am I treating it badly? I just took it along for a walk! I even carried it because it didn't want to walk by itself! Why else would it run a--

[ Suddenly Minako stops talking.

But it's since the cat in her arms pipes up, with a low and lazy voice. ]

It's since I saw a good snack.

[ ...

She's stunned into silence.

(Apparently airhead Minako just got paired up with an airhead familiar.) ]

Uh.. Yeah. [ She says, with the tiniest hint of awkwardness. ] I don't think too much is going to change for me.

[ In other words: her familiar is a cat. A slightly.. odd-looking cat, but she's pretty sure it's got to be some sort of cat! ]

How about you, Haruka-san?

[reloves]

Um, I'm not.. a really good cook..

[ At least that's the honest truth. It's probably better to not let Minako cook, honestly. But it's not like she wants to put a lot of pressure on him, so she quickly adds-- ]

B-But I am very willing to learn!

[divinereaper]

You gotta let a cat do it’s own thing, thoug—

[ naoto stares at the cat for a moment after it spoke, only to bark in laughter. ah, that explains everything. naoto, having seen talking animals before, doesn’t even flinch and starts scratching the familiar’s ears, just like any normal cat. ]

If it’s the snacks in my bag, don’t try. That’s for taste testing for a new recipe.

[ a curse of using a clear bag. ]

Hopefully, the two of you can work just as close and develop a close bond. As for mine, she's a bit more direct than the winds were at home.

[There is a small breeze that plays with Minako's hair for just a moment before it seems to take shape and form, the sylph taking shape and sitting on Haruka's shoulder weightlessly.]

She's been rather helpful, though only when it suits her.

It cannot hurt. Shall we?

[She gestured in the direction the cat and Vivek went.]

My friends will show us the way they went. But we needn't rush, you have been running enough today.

[saltmage]

[He starts plucking a few things here and there and placing them in a basket after paying vendors for them. He had a few simple recipes in mind that any cookbook should have, gravitating towards sweeter things since she apparently had dreams of sustaining herself on naught but cupcakes.]

Perhaps we can find a simple cookbook then, perhaps it shall be a skill you find you enjoy. Shame I do not have access to my personal library, I would have been able to simply lend you one of my own.

[doctorintern]

[ ...how does one even respond to that? ]

Oh, uh...wow, that's a...pretty descriptive title. [ Nailed it. ] It's good to meet you, Minako.

[reloves]

[ The cat seems to turn its head a little, spotting the snacks Naoto is talking about.. and does start wriggling in Minako's arms a little, as if it's trying to get out and take the bag. Thankfully Minako is holding on a little too tightly for him to be able to do that, which means the cat just ends up wriggling in her arms like an unruly toddler. ]

Ah-- Hey! You can't just take someone else's snacks! [ Please, cat. Don't make this even harder. ] I'm sure he paid for those!

[reloves]

[ .. huh.

That seems to surprise Minako. She's mostly seen animals up to this point, after all. Sure, Makoto's bear and Minako's cat might not exactly be a regular bear or a regular cat, but this is on another level entirely, and it makes Minako stare in surprise between Haruka and her familiar. ]

Wow.. What is she? Some sort of.. wind spirit?
