[Izuku shakes his head.]

No, actually, I have a few friends and classmates from home here too. And I've met a few other people from Japan. It's nice to meet more, maybe it feels like a part of home is around.

[Does that sound weird? He's only a little homesick. But it's just nice to talk to other Japanese kids sometimes!]

[kirijo]

[ Taking comfort in the familiar doesn't sound strange to her at all, and she signals as much by nodding in agreement. ]

I'm glad to hear it. I can't imagine making the transition to a place like this alone would be an easy thing.

[fullgauntlet]

[Izuku is able to make his order for his own boba tea now. He picks something simple like matcha green tea.]

Ah, yeah... I guess it's not usual to be pulled into another world like this. So, it's nice to have a little familiarity.

[He feels blessed that he has some of his classmates.]

[kirijo]

You guess?

[ Mitsuru echoes, arching a curious eyebrow at him. ]

Have you experienced something similar before?

[ If so, he'd be the second person she's met who has been transplanted to another world prior to arriving in Avalon which is ... a touch disconcerting, truth be told. ]

[fullgauntlet]

Ah...

[He gives a small nod.]

Actually, I have. Before coming to Avalon, there was one other world that I woke up in.

[Yeah, he's one of those people. Memories of another world that isn't home.]

[kirijo]

A friend of mine has gone through the same thing ...

[ Her voice becomes softer. More empathetic. ]

A place called 'Liminal Space.'

[fullgauntlet]

[It's a little jarring to know that it's happened to several people.]

Liminal space? Like... a hallway?

[???? Izuku does look a little confused.]

Or... a whole world called Liminal Space?

[kirijo]

The latter, I believe. Though, truth be told, his explanation raised as many questions as it answered.

[ For all she knows it could have been a giant hallway. Aragaki-san's description had begun and ended with off-color expressions of his disdain for the whole experience. ]

He was evidently there for quite some time.

[fullgauntlet]

[Izuku gives a nod...]

Then it's true, it seems like there are a lot of us who are from various worlds but a few of us who have also been to other ones like this one. It's almost like... a multiverse.

[It's all very science fiction.]

At least ... I think we'll be able to return home someday.

[kirijo]

As do I.

[ Though she would be lying if she said that it didn't weigh heavily upon her mind ... how couldn't it after learning that Aragaki-san had been unable to return home for six years? ]

Has it ... been some time since you were able to do so?

[fullgauntlet]

[Izuku takes a sip of his boba.]

Ahh... I think it's been... just over eight months or so.

[It doesn't feel all that long but when he counts the months it's a little more harrowing.]

I don't mind this world for what it is if that matters. I want to be able to help here. It doesn't matter where I am, as long as I can do my part... Then I'll go home when it's time.

[kirijo]

I ...

[ She wants to say 'I feel the same way,' but that wouldn't be entirely true, would it?

[ She wants to help the situation here as much as she can as well. She relishes the new experiences that this strange event has allowed her to have, and to say that she's overjoyed to have one of her dearest friends returned to her would be the grossest of understatements, but ...

[ There's some part of her that still resents being pulled away from her own world - from everything that she fought to save, from everything that she dreams of building. It's a selfish thought, and a difficult one to reconcile with the rest, but she hasn't been able to banish it completely, much to her own shame. ]

I think that's a commendable attitude, Midoriya-san.

[fullgauntlet]

[Izuku looks up from his drink. Regarding her answer with a quiet nod. She doesn't have to say it for Izuku to pick up on the neutral ground. Izuku knows he can't expect everyone to feel the same way. There's no right or wrong way to see it. Izuku himself still has his own reservations on the entire topic.

Since he has his own destiny to face, his own road he has to finish... A world on his shoulders...]

Thank you, Kirijo-san. I hope... I hope our future here is a positive one. Before things return to how they were...

[kirijo]

So do I.

[ That she can say without even the slightest reservation. ]

And should there be further hardships ahead, we'll see them through in the name of that brighter future.

[fullgauntlet]

Right. We have to do our best.

[Izuku bows his head. With that he gathers up his drink.]

I should get going. It was nice talking with you, Kirijo-san.

[He hopes they can talk again sometime!]
