Sickly Sweet Children
🧙 WHO: Chara & Whomever
⚔️️ WHAT: The Sickly Sweets Quest
🕒 WHEN: July 3rd.
🗺️ WHERE: Camelot Inn, Camelot outskirts
⚠️ WARNINGS: Maybe some mention of suicide via buttercups.
1: Bake a pretty pie
[It had taken some doing but Chara had managed to get some time in the Inn's kitchen to themselves, it took some crocodile tears about wanting to bake something to cheer their sibling up. But that was a lie, they were actually going to do a quest.
Not one of the nice ones, but one they found while poking at the less savoury sections of the web on their phone. Of course, they were going to do this alone though, so they had gathered what they needed; ingredients for one butterscotch cinnamon pie. But no butter, only buttercups. As many as they could get their grubby little hands on, which will hopefully be enough. So it's with this not so pleasant recipe that they start working.
Of course, this also means they're not paying attention to anyone who might just decide to peek in on the kitchen. So they may as well be talking to themselves without knowing they have company.]
Okay so, a cup makes you sick so more than that should do the trick...
2: Eat the pretty pie
It didn't say where to leave it so...
[Now came the part that was going to be the hardest, which is getting faeries to eat the now baked buttercup pie. So Chara had decided that taking the, possibly, deadly treat to the outskirts of Camelot. No point in having some random person come across the pie and decide to eat it, that would defeat the whole purpose of baking it!
Anyway, either they're doing this alone or have roped some poor unfortunate soul into setting this up with them. Either way, there is now a pie sitting on the ground outside Camelot waiting to be eaten by some faeries.]

But then he overhears the child and Venti looks over his shoulder with a small look of curiosity in his eyes.]
Oh? Are you hoping to make an entire birthday party sick?
[That's quite the party trick.]
no subject
They turn their attention towards Venti and they consider how to answer that.]
I'm just doing a quest.
[It's the truth, but not the whole truth.]
no subject
Is that so?
[He has to tilt his head curiously.]
What kind of quest requires the use of pie that makes you sick?
no subject
[They even drop the tone of their voice to sound ominous, as if that might get Venti to not ask any more questions. But it probably won't work.]
And I already know how to make people sick, this is supposed to kill.
no subject
So, he puts the almost-stolen bottle back into the ice box and comes to the counter to peek in with a giggle.]
Well, they always say poison is an effective and clean way to accomplish such a thing. What's next on the recipe?
no subject
[Chara feels like they've said enough and they have a hunch that if Venti is a responsible adult? He'll try to stop them, eventually. So now they're just going to turn their attention back to the ingredients they have gathered and with a frown, focus on what they started to do.
Which is make a pie.]
no subject
[He tilts his head. Green-blue braids swishing as he does so.]
Sharing the wealth of information is a joy for most people.
[Although, this small child might not be like "most people".]
no subject
[They turn a little to look at Venti, while still doing their best to work on their pie.]
Good thing I'm not most people then, don'tcha think?
no subject
[He laughs, still looking over the child's work.]
But if that's the case, I won't ask you to share. What a shame! I was looking forward to it...
[Oh well, he can try to kill Zhongli later.]
no subject
[Even with Asriel here, they're still going to keep their name a secret.]
It's not nice, the way I'm doing this. Buttercups are a horrible way to die.
no subject
[Look, they're both using fake names. How nice.]
It would be such a horrible way to die by such sweet bright flowers. But there's something poetic about that as well. Is that what you're going for?
no subject
[Fake names ahoy! As they're mixing up what is going to be the crust of their pie, even making sure to put some buttercups in that as well.]
No, it's more that I know this works. So why not use it?
no subject
[He puts a finger to his chin.]
Now you're sure that whichever quest you're completing that the recipient will want a freshly baked pie?
no subject
[It's as simple as that, it seems, as Chara turns back to what they're doing. But still, they're willing to talk to Venti for now.]
no subject
[What an odd-sounding request. Or quest?]
Pie may be the apple of someone's eye. Yet cake is universally sweeter.
no subject
I only know how to make pie though, so it's best I don't try to bake a cake.
no subject
[Venti ponders...! Can't be too hard to bake a breezy cake that can kill!]
no subject
Maybe some other time, I don't want to mess this up by trying something else at the same time. But thanks.
no subject
Hmm! If you say so! Do let me know if you need a hand.
[He's going to go back to stealing out of the fridge, then.]
no subject
[They probably won't, as they now focus fully on making their pie and leave Venti to loot the fridge.]
no subject
I'm wondering... What will happen if your pie fails to do the trick?
no subject
I guess then I don't get the quest reward.
no subject
As simple as that, is it?
no subject
Basically, yeah.
[And back to working on the pie.]
no subject
[life and pie.]
no subject
[Life and a lot of things, really.]
2
A pie?
[Should she kick it? It's tempting, one leg slowly swings back ready to kick it like a soccer ball.]
no subject
Hey, don't touch that! It's for faeries!
no subject
Hm? You trying to get to their good side or something?
no subject
You could say it's something like that, it's for a quest.
no subject
The reward better be worth it.
[Himiko glances back at the untouched pie.]
You really think they'll come out of hiding just to eat that?
no subject
[At the question Chara just shrugs.]
I dunno, they might or might not. I may as well try and see what happens at least.
no subject
[At least the quest gives you something.]
So.. what's the main objective for this quest? Steal a fairy?
no subject
[They huff, puffing out their cheeks in a semi-pout.]
And no, it's to kill a fairy.
no subject
Kid, you have to do your homework before setting your intension. Do you know where they like to hang out at least?
no subject
No, and the quest wasn't clear about any of that stuff either. Just to make a sweet that can kill a fairy.
