Claude isn't so surprised by the invitation, really, given his talks with Byleth have managed to be on amicable terms so far, and any information he's gleaned about his fate in their world is about as good as things could have turned out for him, given the circumstances. Provided they're telling the truth, anyway.

What does surprise him is seeing Edelgard looking so casual as he arrives, in a way he hadn't really seen even back in their monastery days. Still, he offers her a smile as he moves to take a seat.
