[ To call it a tournament would be generous, given that everyone gets the same prize regardless of how much they collect, but the task of tree-picking proves to be more exciting than Rise had expected. Of course, she would have enjoyed something more traditional like apple picking, but the collection of vibrant trees with colorful treats decorating them like ornaments is a charming sight to behold. Perhaps she should be used to the oddities of this place by now, but instead she feels like a little kid again - every experience is grand and novel.
Though for as beautiful of a sight as it is, she thinks she might have still appreciated it a little more when she was still a kid and would happily collect them for herself. As it is, she's happy enough to just take in the sight and point out the different types, chiefly pulling from the ones that are hanging low enough for her to reach.
She's currently harvesting from a tree bearing cookies with pastel ice cream cones, black dot eyes and blushing smiles painted on the soft serve. ]
Wow, they even have decorated cookies! I wonder how they get them to grow like that? I bet it's a lot of work.
[ She gives a wry smile. ]
Though, uh, I don't know if I'd want to eat a cookie that I pulled off a tree.
[ Rise had done her best to assist, but in an all-out brawl she's still more of a hindrance on the front lines than an asset. It's a fact that frustrates her daily, and something that's continued to push her to practice both forms of magic on a near-daily basis. There was too much at stake, and too much happening for her to be content with her lot. Besides, the more she learned about her cognitive magic, the more she realized how useful it really was.
As it is, others were better suited to deal with a rock-throwing giant. But rather than sulk about it, after the beast retreats, Rise will be aiding in passing out towels and drinks, and directing those who are wounded to healers. She'll take the time to approach anyone who looks like they might need assistance through any of the above, or just by stopping to talk to them: ]
Hey, are you okay? That looked pretty rough...
[ That explanation of the spell really is... Something. It seems sensible enough to stick together, but after looking over the spell she can only say: ]
Uh... This doesn't seem very useful. Do we really have to be touching each other? That's kind of creepy. I wouldn't mind if Senpai was here, but...
[ But otherwise, nothing about touching somebody for an hour just so they know the other's in danger - something that could easily be expressed through other methods - is pretty weird. ]
Maybe we should just stick together for now? I think we'll both know if we're in danger, that guy wasn't exactly trying to be sneaky.
[ Rise is a vibrant social butterfly, easily mingling and vibing with the other guests. It's not that she's forgotten about her duty, and certainly she wants to get out of her at some point, but it's been a long time since she's been in such a high-energy and blossoming environment - so of course she's cutting lose a little. It is a party, after all, and some tasks are just easier to perform as the airy and bubbly Risette - laughing and drinking what she already knows is spiked punch, burning with alcohol underneath the fruity taste, and piling on the exaggerated annoyance and enthusiasm and flattery.
But it's not like she's forgotten about her partner, and she taps her head and sticks her tongue out and apologies to her current conversation partner before excusing herself to regroup with her partner. It might be someone she knows, or it might be somebody she just met up with at the start of this task - these operations were, after all, always easier with a second pair of eyes.
Her expression sobers quickly as she addresses them: ]
Were you able to find anything?
[ By now, she'd hoped that one of them would have been able to spot something that could've been the "vessel" mentioned. ]
[ This request had hit a little close to home in a way that others hadn't in the past. There was just something so raw and personal about it, and she found herself wanting to help that person. After all, if it was her grandma... Well, just the thought is enough to make her chest tighten and her heart ache.
So she had made the trip, and immediately understood why the requestor had asked for it - the sparkling rainbow dancing across the surface as the sun shines down on it is a breathtaking sight, even more than she had expected from the description. For a second, she finds herself holding her breath, hand covering her mouth as she takes it in. ]
This must be the place... It's beautiful.

[ Akira's been tagging along, amazed by the variety of confectionery growing on trees just like that. Contrary to Rise, he hasn't been holding back at all and has tried at least five different cookies already. Actually, there are still some crumbs on his face. ]
I wonder if you have to know green magic for this. It would be sort of cool to grow a tree like this on your own.
