Work in progress.
[ He's armed with simply his sword and a small dagger tucked away. Frankly, he doesn't like the idea of hunting now that he's not...exactly himself. Physically speaking. But his instincts and training remain. It'll have to be enough. ]
I'm surprised you can float.
no subject
[Not that he can float very well but that's the way things go. He can move for the most part and that's enough. It's been a while since he tested himself like this.]
And not knowing entirely what I'm up against, better safe than sorry.

Which should at least mean they're simple to lure out. Plenty of flesh on the two of them. (Presuming. He's not positive what might be underneath all that metal.) ]
Villagers said there was a pod to the east. [ He starts off in that direction, giving only one glance behind to see if the man is coming along. He supposes he could use an extra hand. ]

He follows. No point in not and in an environment like this, help is probably going to be needed.]
How far east?

They didn't exactly draw me a map.
[ Minimal information is what he's used to. As long as nothing else gets in the way. The nudibranchs might be the biggest threat, but he suspects it's not the only thing lurking in these waters.
He watches a turtle crawl its way across the sand. ] Tell me you have something better than gossipy fish.
no subject
He'll settle for scanning the area, trying to pick up anything, any sort of motion. Mostly it's just been harmless fish but he's starting to get the sense that something might be watching them.
He'll just assume the turtle can understand as well.]

In all truth, the silence is pretty damn nice. He's had enough strangers bothering him lately, people no longer wary or suspicious of what they don't realize he is. Here, he's just another one of them, a lost soul fallen into the lake.
Not wrong, to a degree. He's lost his signs, his mutations. He doesn't feel human, though. But that's not really something he thinks he can ever feel again. So it's a moot point.
Only when he spots something half-buried in the sand—bone, nearly stripped clean—does he stop. He taps his companion on the shoulder, indicating the eaten corpse. It looks fresh. Whatever snacked on it can't be far away. ]
no subject
He turns his attention to the skeleton, reaching up to tap the side of his helmet, trying to initiate a scan. Not that he's getting much from the water. His grip on his spear tightens as he looks around. He keeps his voice low.]
Think it might come back?
no subject
Anticlimactic, though. Nothing actually happens.
He looks over to the side, searching for a place they can hunker down and wait it out, unnoticed. ]
Seems unfinished. [ If it's hungry enough, it might return for seconds. Just in case it needs encouraging, he pulls a small blade from his boot. A single cut on his arm spills a little blood in the water. ] Let's hope it does.
no subject
[And on that note, he adjusts the grip on his spear and settles in to wait, remaining alert. Though he's constantly scanning the area for something bigger than the rest of the fish and creatures they're seeing.
At least until some of them scatter and a shadow passes.]
Something's coming.
