a. never meant for a green thumb

[Set's had an emotional time of it, having the same magic as Osiris. With healing and now being able to grow things, it feels like he's in some body that doesn't belong to him at all. None of it feels natural but nothing about any of this feels natural. But still, he's here to help his world and as king then he will do what is necessary.

With it being so rainy out then he can't practice his green magic as much but walking past a garden with an umbrella, he gets a feeling from the garden near by. He stops, frowning.]

What good will it do for you to complain about the sun being hidden? None of us can control the rain here apparently. [He looks crazy, talking to the garden.] Stop complaining.

[It may sound like he's talking to somebody else or maybe your character.]

b. it isn't nail polish

[As a god, Set's fingernails are pure gold. Even if, physically, he is no longer a god here, his nails still grow golden.

And apparently, the faeries like finger nails? They like weird things and he's been arguing with the faeries.] Why would you want my finger nails? What good do they do for you...? [But one faerie is near his feet too, pointing.] My toe nails? No.

[But they will pay him, even if only a little bit, and he has very little money...he sighs. This is ridiculous. As your character passes by, Set calls out:] Get me something to cut nails with. [Sorry, he's not used to not being royalty and having to be polite.

But also it's raining a lot and he wants to get out of this bad weather. These faeries have been harassing him for a bit and even he's learned that it's a bad idea to kill them even if he's not opposed to the idea.]

c. this body ain't what it used to be.

[In ancient Egypt, beer was simply what you drank. Water couldn't always be trusted and so it was beer. Beer for kids, beer for adults, beer for everybody. Set prefers wine, being a god and all, but he can't get wine so easily. These other drinks? No idea. But he knows beer.

But he has always drunk alcohol being a god, not a human. He downs two glasses of beer and as he walks home, he immediately feels the difference. Being a human is different in many ways and as he tries to head home, he feels really dizzy as he leans on a wall.]

Why...? [He puts a hand to his head and takes a breath, trying to go again but tumbles and falls down.] Why do I feel like the world is spinning? [To whoever is going by him, he calls out:] Hey, what does it mean when you can't stand because you feel like you're twirling?

[It means he's drunk for the first time.]

[Set's never been asked to hang out before and it was strange to train with somebody. The rest of his family had never been ones for combat, only Set had been, so he'd always trained alone. Not that Set was much of a training partner as he barely spoke as he he worked with his bow and arrow (it made sense to use the same weapon? and luckily, for Set, his bow came with him). He was here to train, not talk, but he does still agree to go out after and eat and drink. It makes sense, he thinks. You want to refuel after training.

Although as Set sits down across from Claude and is given a menu, he has absolutely no idea what he's supposed to ask for.]

I've never had tea.

[It was not something available in ancient Egypt but what a great start to this conversation.]

[Training isn't exactly Claude's idea of fun, but if it was a way to Set to hang out, that was fine by him. The guy's oblivious and dense, but he's still piqued Claude's interest, and pestering him even this far is more than he anticipated to get out of him. Maybe someone just needs to teach the guy to let loose... In that regard, he's reminded a little of Byleth in their early days together, so he's not too daunted.

Claude's scanning down the menu, though he looks up at Set's admission.]

Oh-- well, first time for everything. What sort of tastes do you like? There are bitter teas, sweet fruit teas, herbal teas, floral teas...

[Naturally, most people would approach someone who's just fallen down out of nowhere. It would be kind of a dick move to just ignore them and leave them on the ground, after all. So, upon watching this guy totally beef it, Kratos approaches and kneels down to offer a hand up.]

It could be a number of reasons, perhaps you've taken ill. Did you hurt yourself when you fell?

[He will most likely very quickly realize that this dude is just drunk, but first thing's first. Gotta make sure the guy isn't all banged up.]

I think I'd like the fruit teas. [Maybe Set doesn't seem the type but he likes fruits. They're a treat usually only allowed to royalty. It's more familiar, and might be more of a comfort, than some of the other teas.]

There's more options than back in Egypt and everybody can drink all of these things. It's so different here. [And it's kind of uncomfortable? He looks around the dining area.] Is it like this in your home?

[This is more chatty than Set usually is if he's asking a question.]

Ill? [Right, that's a thing he can be now. Now that he's human.] And no, I don't...? [He's trying to think and make sense of everything happening but it feels like nothing is connecting.

He takes the hand offered to him although he's a big guy and right now, he's only a little better than dead weight.] I feel like I can't get up. Is this what being sick means?

I came here from a place called Fodlan, and the nobility there are fussy about tea like you wouldn't believe. They want the most expensive leaves, the nicest pots and cups, the best cakes to eat with it... and there's all these rules and etiquette...

[He gives a long-suffering sigh and shakes his head.] Common people drink tea too, but it's the nobles that are crazy for the stuff. I just like it because it tastes good and it's nice to drink with friends, you know?

[Set does understand this. Long before he was a king, he was just a prince that was never given a second glance. There were rules, ways to act, and Set had wanted no part of it. But because of that, it had only made him stand out more in all of the worst ways.]

Wine is only for those that are part of my court or anybody else that can afford it. It isn't why I like it, though, it just tastes good. Date wine tastes the best but I haven't seen it here. [Which is a shame because it's his favorite. But he also hasn't been looking too hard because he has very little money.]

But rules for things like that are annoying. I never liked it either.

[Well, the guy doesn't seem to be bleeding or anything, so that's good.

Kratos may also just be human himself now, but he's still pretty decently strong on his own. Which just means that he is eventually able to help this guy to his feet, but with how... disoriented and floppy the other man is, it's no simple task. It does, however, clue Kratos in on what's probably actually going on here.]

Sometimes. However, I think I've figured out what your problem is.

Date wine sounds good. I'll have to try some sometime.

[Then he laughs.] Most kings love rules and good manners and stuff. I suppose you're the exception?

[He flags down a waiter as they talk, and orders some pine needle tea. Hopefully Set's decided on a particular fruit tea by now.]

[The rain never bothered Rose. She actually liked it, which was why she was out walking without an umbrella. So by now she was drenched and probably looked strange to other people on the street who were probably trying to stay dry.]

[Though, probably not as strange a sight as the man who appeared to be talking to no one.]

[Rose paused and arched a brow.]

Who are you talking to?

[From where she was standing, it looked like he was facing an empty garden.]

[Standing upright does not help how dizzy he feels in the slightest. If anything, it only makes it feel like he's spinning more and more now. Usually he would never lean on anybody like this but Set can't help it.]

You do? What's wrong with me? Was I poisoned...? The only time I have felt like this was when I was given sleeping aids but even that was nothing like this. [He had been giving sleeping aids but it had only made him feel a little tired. Right now, he didn't even feel tired.]

[None of the fruits even ring a bell to him. Egypt, before many fruits were brought over, had never been known for its wide variety of fruits. Even the berries being mentioned here he didn't know but he decides on a juniper berry tea. That doesn't sound so crazy, he thinks.]

That would probably be because nobody meant for me to be king and there's nobody who supports my rule as it is anyway. Not like it matters. There is only me that can rule even if they don't like it. I am the only royal god remaining that is capable. [That's when the waiter comes and Set orders and once the waiter takes their orders and leaves, Set continues on with another topic. Like he didn't just drop a bombshell of sorts even though to him, it's nothing new. Nobody has ever supported him and everybody knows that.]

I wish there was date wine here. I miss it.

[Set usually paid no mind to the people around him and so of course he didn't notice that he had an audience. He looks to her.]

The plants. They're complaining about it only raining and there not being any sun. Like there's anything their whining to me will do. [Hearing another whine from the plants, he continues.] You heard me. You're annoying. [He would be crossing his arms right now if he did have an umbrella.] This new magic is a nuisance. Lord Brother probably never heard the crops crying like children.

[Whoof, yeah, this guy is way worse off than Kratos had expected. Well, he can't just leave the guy here in this state. He pulls one of the guy's arms around his shoulders to better support him, and to better keep his own balance because I guess this is a thing now.]

I suspect that you've had too much alcohol. You'll be all right, you just might feel off for a while.

[Any other time, Set would not be accepting the help. There's far too much pride in him to depend on somebody else. However, right now, Set is just too dizzy to not rely on this person's help. It feels like he can't move on his own.

The explanation offered to him doesn't make any sense, however.] Drunk? I can't be. I'm a god--[And then:] I'm not anymore. Right. But it was only two beers? That shouldn't be too much? Children don't get drunk off of two... [The beer that the ancient Egyptian children drank was different from what he just did but that's not coming to mind.]

[Claude's not about to let the change in topic back to wine slide, and he actually leans forward in his seat, eyes wide.]

Hold on just a moment. What's that about being a god? It's the first you've mentioned of it. [He knew about the king part, sure, but not the rest. And now he already looks itching to get all the answers he can out of him.]

I knew there was something special about you! My intuition's never wrong.

Two doesn't seem like much...

[but then, he's probably not the best judge of how much alcohol is too much, either. Maybe if he's ever feeling extra shitty some day he'll hit the bar and find out for himself.]

Well, you said you were a god before? Perhaps in this human form, you simply haven't built up any tolerance for it yet.

It doesn't matter much at all here since I'm human, just as much as any other. [And he's definitely irritated about that. What is being cold? What is eating because you have to eat to survive and not because you just like the taste of certain things?

Being human is absolutely awful. How do you live like this?] But I am the great grandson of Lord Ra, who created everything. [Except Set had found out that Ra had not been The Beginning but only part of it. Still, he's been told that needs to stay a secret and so he doesn't share that. It didn't change that Ra was important.]

[In Set's case, he had just wanted something familiar. Beer was as familiar as it got without costing too much.

And boy, was he regretting it.]

A tolerance...? I have to grow a tolerance to beer? It's simply beer. I--how do people be human? [There's a groan at that and he misses being a god. He misses not being physically bothered by so many things.] I just want to sleep.

[Oh yeah, Kratos feels that. Eating? Sleeping? wastes of time, rly.]

That's simply what they're used to. Anyway, where are you staying? I may as well help you home, then you can sleep this off.

[He liked eating but eating had always been something he just did for enjoyment. Now he apparently needs to eat to stay alive? Literally awful. Terrible.]

Um. The inn? In a room. [Which is not a good description at all but forgive his brain fog. Thinking feels like so much work right now.]

Very interesting. I wonder if it was the god of fate that brought us together.

[Human or not, Claude's evidently still fascinated, his eyes shining as he flashes him a wink. He's less interested in seeing his raw power than in learning all about him.]

So if your great grandfather was the creator god, what kind of god does that make you?

[Kratos doesn't mind that all too much, but remembering to eat? Yeaaah, he needs to start setting an alarm on his phone or something.]

That's a start, I suppose.

[The good news is that Kratos is also staying at the inn, so it's not out of his way at all. He'll start steering in that direction, careful not to throw them off balance.]

And would you happen to remember that room number?

Weren't we all brought here to save our worlds? [Claude's comment flies right over his head although his interest does not. While most of the people of Egypt had feared Set, it wasn't like he hadn't had his own followers as well. People who had looked at him with favor although he had never agreed with them either.]

But I am a war god. I am the god of storms, violence, disorder, and foreigners. [Not nearly as nice as Ra, god of the sky and sun, or Osiris, god of fertility. But Set had simply been born as he was.] I am also the lord of the red land, the desert.

[At least there's always the extreme stomach pains to remind you. Although a phone alarm would be useful. If Set knew how to use his device at all.]

It had a 3? But there was another number before it? I never remembered by the number. Just the location. I think I can figure it out when we get nearby.

[Set's very socially and emotionally stupid but even he knows he's being very unhelpful right now. It just feels like he can't think at all.] I didn't know beer did this. I am never drinking it again. I will save up for wine.

[Hahaha oh boy.]
