[Eustace will only occasionally glance up from the board to study Nobunaga's expression...or note how his familiar is trying to earn some free pets. He can only mentally shake his head at that. But he's a bit surprised and maybe impressed by Nobunaga's ability to focus and certain moves he makes. In some ways he had expected more bold or reckless movements, but since the man is apparently some kind of general warlord...seeing this side of him also makes sense. It's proof that the man does have some maturity in him.
Some.
And Eustace has no issue with the game dragging out. Whether it was fast paced or slow, he's able to adapt by analyzing and trying to read his opponent. He's not always accurate—although he does a lot of strategizing and tactics, it's not his focus or specialty. But it's enough to make him a challenging adversary in a game like this, each move having a particular purpose.
And now...after a seemingly long deliberation, he decides to try and bait Nobunaga, leaving him the option of either taking a bolder move that could reap benefits but with some potential risk, or continue on a more cautious route.
Whether Eustace cares to win or not doesn't really matter—perhaps he's more interested in seeing what he can learn of the man from how he plays.]
