Deku had always been a smart person, or at least an aware one in situations where he had to be. Capable of pulling knowledge about his opponent which was evident in the UA Sports Festival despite being inferior to a great many of his opponents because of his strong point. The strong point that was also the weak point, some sort of heroic compassion or what he thought was how a hero was compassionate. He could see it even now and had seen it in a great many people turned villain because of it.
That they knew each other, even if he wasn't pretending to have forgotten his time as a villain, was an understatement and one that he would have to relieve the tension of the statement later. "Those are obvious things." he related easily enough, turning back around to face him with shoulders squared off. "That's level one tutorial level stuff. I saw the look on your face, and I saw your clenched fists. That's a good place to start. Then again, either tell me or don't, I don't have time to waste on people not willing to lend a hand."
